It is not a zoo. It's a series of totally enclosed ecosystem experiments comprised of a wide variety of plant life. It's well worth seeing.
I wouldn't call it pigeonholed into an overcrowded tour. You're given earpieces to hear the tour guide. They are very well educated people and know everything about what is happening there. It is quite interesting to learn about some of the very successful experiments. Especially things you can transfer to your own home. You are free to walk around after the tour. If you are concerned about our environment and climate change I highly recommend it.
Birds,bugs and lizards
Enviromental lab.. They did have fish in the ocean but they were decimated by a recent experiment.
We saw birds, fish and insects.
There were no animals.
In addition to the few fish, there are a number of birds.
There's like 4 fish in the under water exhibit. Not a baby friendly place fyi
It is most likely that you will not see any animals in the biosphere, aside from local animals that made their way in. In short, if youre going with a plan to see wildlife, youre out of luck. Things change with all these experiments they run though, so you never know.
I went as a chaperone on a school tour. The kids were able to pick up hermit crabs at the ocean habitat. Of course, they had to return them, but it was great fun.
