Took my 2 year old niece this afternoon and she absolutely loved it. I haven't been since I was little and not much has changed. The employees are amazing. Only thing I wish is more exhibits being open but either way the trip was well worth it. Cafe food was pretty decent as well

This is a solid Museum with a reasonable entrance fee. You can pay extra to see the rotating special exhibit. It was a space exhibit when I went. There's also a cafeteria. I think you could safely plan on spending 2-3+ hours here. I liked that there were a lot of things that you could touch such as a rock from the Moon and an old Mastodon bone that had been cut by old human tools. A lot of areas were closed however including a theater, a planetarium, and an outside area. The only other negative is that I didn't feel like there was a lot of detail on the exhibit descriptions, not a lot of in depth information. I usually learn more when I go to museums. This Museum was still fun and the kids liked it. I'm giving it four stars because there are other five star museums around such as the Henry Ford and the DIA. Worth a visit though for sure.

This place was amazing. I could have spent the whole in the area with all the rocks and matter. Worth the visit!!

Great place to go to with family and or friends. A lot of fun and interesting things to do and see. Good for adults and especially kids. The staff was very kind and helpful even very informative on all kinds of subjects. Masks required and they were also very clean there was always access to hand sanitizer.

Appropriate for all ages!
13 for adults, 9.50 for kids
people should go to https://science.cranbrook.edu to accurately know their hours. I work on campus. I see people all too often arrive on days they are closed. google is not accurate about their days and hours of operations
I believe so
Every Friday after 5 is free I believe
The museum is open, but not the observatory. https://science.cranbrook.edu/dec-2-2020-jan-3-2021
Cranbrook Institute of Science is not closed on Sundays. The hours of operation are listed on the main website page at https://science.cranbrook.edu as well as https://science.cranbrook.edu/visit/admission where you can also find pricing information. Hours of Sunday are noon to 4pm.
The observatory is free with museum admission and is open every Friday/Saturday from 8:30 - 10pm during daylight savings and 7:30 - 10pm during standard time. It is also open the first Sunday of the month from 1 - 4pm for safe viewing of the sun.
Yes
Yes. When I was there, they stamped my hand with an ink marker (if I recall correctly) and I was free to leave and return.
It's ok. Look for deals or try to go with a group to cut costs. My scout's did an overnight so it was worth it to us.
Would be enjoyed by all ages. All Cranbrook Institutes are enjoyable!
It will depend on the exhibit and add ons like planetarium shows. I would call ahead.
