A fun place to learn about the science of nuclear energy. The museum tells the story of nuclear science through artifacts and realistic displays inside. Out back, the museum has an excellent collection of planes, missiles, and a full-size recreation of the very first nuclear test site.

This is a great little museum located in Albuquerque New Mexico, my son loved it and the people working there were very nice and helpful! Seeing what the bombs looked like back then was very interesting. I highly recommend stopping by the National Museum of Nuclear Science & Energy if your in the area.

MUST SEE! A very-well curated museum, with interactive displays and activities for all ages! Displays include comprehensive information on the history, development, testing, deployment, and effects of tested and war-used atomic bombs. The collection logically expands to include evolution of the atomic bomb to modern nuclear devices, including deployment mechanisms and launch platforms. The museum also covers the development of nuclear powered vessels and power plants. The collection of demilitarized and mock weapons, aircraft, missiles and rockets is suprisingly thorough. FIVE STARS

Took the kids to this museum and was delighted to find the amount history and hands on exhibits. We had gone out to the Trinity site earlier so this was a way of learning about Los Alamos and the American nuclear program from the 1940s. They also teach about how nuclear science is used in medicine & energy production today. The gift shop has some nice goodies, too!

You can come and go as you want. They allow you to make a full day of it. Go and get lunch and come back.
It can be as short as 30 minutes, but if you want to stop through and see everything the museme has to offer it will take about 2 hours.

The museum is one level and not too big. I'm uncertain if they have wheelchairs.
You can go to the public library and get a pass for 2 adults and 4kids ... You check out the pass like you would a book ...
I believe it is $12 per adult, $10 per senior, not sure about child rate. We purchased admission for 4 adults on Groupon for $29.
