One of the best park in New Jersey, must visit with your family.

Amazing place, especially during the season when the leaves are changing color. The highest point of three states- NJ, NY and Pa. Nice hiking trails and just a great place to spend a day with family or alone. Well worth the visit!

Walking and hiking encouraged. Beautiful monument and vistas, in any season.

Probably seasonal falls, we have quite a few in the area. They are fairly easy to find using a topography map. Usually best to leave the "hidden" treasures as hidden as possible. The more effort people have to put forth is a big determining factor in how well they respect LNT.
Yes, pets must be leashed and under control of the owner at all times. They are not permitted in the swimming lake or on the sand but are permitted on the grassy area at the beach. We also offer pet friendly campsites!
Yes
The fall in nj is beautiful like lore castellanos mentioned its breath taking and enjoyable
They are not at the booth until 8 am so maybe. I know at night when the booth closes you can get in with no fee.
They are open for phone calls not in person
Yes, it is safe. Please register with park ranger/visitor control. They will also help with providing recommend Ed camp sites
Yes
To the top of the mountain or tower? I would rate either of them a 4 on a rough day. Not to steep of an incline, paths are relatively clear and marked. There are some more difficult trails littered throughout the park but the one to the momument (and the monument itself) aren't actually as difficult as they are tedious.
Make sure to check Airbnb's in New York State by Port Jervis and Pennsylvania by the Delaware Water Gap. Both are close to this park.
No
Yes, near the monument. However, there isn't one in the campground.
Yes. You need a NJ Fishing License
I've never needed to have a printed copy of it.
Yes.
I think you can just go in if it's before dusk
As mentioned, you can view the Vista of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. If you enjoy camping, there are numerous sites at High Point Forest and Stokes Forest.
Try the AT hiker lot just 1/4 miles south of the office.
These are the only ones within park limits. But some may be close by at the neighboring sites
On trip advisor if you go to photos theres a guy name nicholas p standing in front of a beautiful waterfall. I cleaned some muck out of the spring by rutherford shelter and have been drinking from it unfiltered with no issues. I am also planning on doing conservation work and planting spruce and pine to create microclimates that were lost do to the hemlock trees dying enjoy :)
Yes it is open. I went last weekend, it was bit crowded but not like people jammed in one place. You'll find plenty of place to sit and relax. Lake area get busy pretty fast!
The rutherford shelter area has some star gazing areas theres also a swamp behind it that has great views of the sky i would register and tell the rangers your section hiking you can park by the park office but you need to get a permit or youl get ticketed enjoy
On the right side shortly after the toll booth. Look for the parking lot.
Thats a perfect place. You can drive upto the monument and the views.
Yes
Yes, it is.
It's open to the public now
You can drive up to the path to the monument, but the monument itself was not open when I visited in December.
Lake Marcia has a beach, bathrooms, and a consession stand. It is a little cold right now in February - maybe try cross country skiing now and save the swimming for summer!
No, but campsites are a short ride away!
I attended a wedding there. The couple got a permit from the park and had their wedding there.
Yes the roads there are in good condition but do check their website or even call them to be sure it's something they allow.
No.
At this time park entrance fees are only charged from Memorial Day through Labor Day. More info can be found here: https://njparksandforests.com/parks/feeschedule.htm
You can not use any flotation devices in the water. The only approved use are US Coast Guard Approved life jackets.
Yes
Yes, they were not allowing it on like 5 days this month due to lifeguard availability
It is 20 in weekends and holidays. 10 for NJ residents. 5 on weekdays
When you first enter it's the first right. Theres a parking lot. Walk to the bath house right there
Often see buses in the beach parking lot
There is a sign when you're walking to the beach that says dogs aren't allowed. It also has a list of other regulations.
It depends on if it is a dry season with a high fire danger
As with any park that is not specifically a DOG park. Off leash is not allowed, definitely not safe & you would most likely have a problem with someone confronting you about it.
It's not open in winter. Only during summer and spring.
I think there is a rope around some parts of the lake were kids can go swim
After labor day
Dogs are allowed to hike, but not welcome on the beach or in the water.
$10 for residents $20 for non-residents the whole park is just one fee
No guns nesacerry. You will need to put your coolers and goid in a secure location .There are bears ,deer, and other critters that would live to help them selves to your food Yes it is organized camping with assigned camp sites and all. There are water spigot s around by the bathrooms. But otherwise theres no water or electric on the sites . There are park rangers who patroll the camp grounds . But they only bust balls if your loud and obnoxious. Follow the rulles wont have a problem
Yes there are cabins but they book up so you'll have to call the office to see when they are available.
