The rutherford shelter area has some star gazing areas theres also a swamp behind it that has great views of the sky i would register and tell the rangers your section hiking you can park by the park office but you need to get a permit or youl get ticketed enjoy
True park closes at 8pm. But if you try camping there, you won't be disappointed
