Reservations are needed and an additional payment once in the park per a person. Only cash in person. Beautiful. Nice hike. The hike itself is short and easy-medium. Nice park staff and clean park area. Bathrooms were closed but they did have portable bathrooms (I did not use them).

After a .25mi walk down a somewhat steep trail, there’s a quick creek-side jaunt to get to the pool itself. It’s beautiful! But there’s a lot of rockfall right now, so be prepared for a brief visit since so much is roped-off. Still highly recommended! Maybe visit when the tress are full, though

Its a very pretty natural pool with clear blue water. Reservation is required to visit this place which is $12 per car. Apart from that, we need to be paying $8 fee per person for entry at the preserve entrance. It was a short hike of 15-20 mins to the pool. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed in the pool due to fallen rocks and bacteria. Apart from that, you can take another long hike which will lead to the river. But, we felt like entry was pricier for this place. It can be made lesser since swimming & walking around the pool is restricted now. But, the water was definitely beautiful. Check the picture.

After a long time being in Austin, I finally visited this place. It was beautiful. The water is very pretty and there were some fishes swimming close to the shore that was a good sight to look at. The grotto area hike and swimming is closed as of now. But there was hike to the river which was a good workout. The beach near the river is nice and the water is shallow and clear. Overall a good visit.

Yes, you can take floats and tubes. You can take a cooler with juices, water and food, just no alcohol and no glass containers. Be sure whatever you take in you pack out and don't leave any trash.
The pool is still restricted due to unsafe contamination levels.
Either or works. We have done both recently.
TRY THIS LINK. https://secure.emybill.com/parks/reservation/base/TravisHamilton/publicSite/main.faces AUGUST and September are Not fully booked. I just check and verified.
It says on the website only one vehicle is allowed with each reservation and remember it's $15 cash (no cards!) at the entrance per vehicle.
You always need reservations. Check the site and see if there is an opening for that day. This is by reservation Only.
It cost me 11 dollars for reservations more details here : https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/find-a-park/hamilton-pool Payment Amount $10.00 Service Fee $1.00 Total Amount $11.00
If the preserve has to close, they will let you reschedule. They don't close just because it's raining. You can reschedule your reservation online up until the night before your reserved date with no charge.
Yes it's 15$ a car. $5 if there is a senior over 65.
Not in walking distance, 8 miles or more away.
Make sure everyone has a seat that they can buckle up for safety. You'll have so much fun.
It just depends but we made our reservation one day in advance.
Check the website before leaving. It will tell you if bacteria level is safe enough for swimming. It happens quite often that the water is not safe for swimming.
I know it's painfull to pay an entrance fee, but it takes ressources to preserve the site and cleanup after the huge numbers of visitors. This is paid either from taxes or entrance fee. It seems to me it's fair for visitors to participate in the site preservation effort. This is not a for profit fee.
NO! Pet's are not allowed not even on a leash and you absolutely cannot leave them in your car. If you want to take your pets you should go to Reimer's Ranch which is 2 minutes down the street and it is also a county park, but a fraction of the cost of Hamilton Pool Preserve.
Not true reservations are required year round except nov and dec, but weekend reservations are required in nov and dec. fees are $26 for 4 hours or basically the same price to get into Yosemite National Park for the ENTIRE WEEK!
Its open now.. something have changed tho.. and you'll have to reserve a spot online
Not now
It's pretty but with the water now being off limits, it has lost some value.
$20/adult
I'm not sure. Think it would be best to contact Hamilton Pool Preserve directly for their reservation policy.
You can call the rangers and ask. They are very helpful.
No swimming is allowed and visits are by appointments only [but river access via perdnales river trail 1 mile away is allowed]. For free dives i would recommend a reservation to Jacob’s Well (120 ft deep).
You have to make reservations beforehand. Remember to bring cash (believe it was $8/person) as they don't accept anything else at the site for entrance. Also, check whether the whole site is open. When we were there a month ago, it was partially closed due to falling rocks
For now I just walk through the pendemic
They charge a reservation fee per car and then at the entrance per person, so no, I don't think they will charge you if there aren't this many people. Cash only tho.
No
I doubt that any ride share driver would take that trip. You should call the Park Ranger office and ask if they have any suggestions.
You have to do it a month in advance.
https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/parks/hamilton-pool-preserve#fees
https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/parks/hamilton-pool-preserve
It's closed currently due to "virus" https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/parks/hamilton-pool-preserve
They are currently closed.
I just checked and the website says no reservation needed. I would make sure before going there. Google Hamilton Pool Reserve and it will take you to their website.
No, they even limit numbers admitted to provide a better experience.
The website has info on what days you can make a reservation. Weekends fill up several months in advance
Were you able to? We are planning to go in an RV if possible. We don't want to get reservations if they don't allow them. I've been trying to speak to a person to ask, but I'm getting the machine because of the high volume of calls
I don't think so.
Don't think there is a cost for a photo shoot. Just to get in.
Water was amazing and the crowd was small.
There is no restroom near the pool. Its located near the parking lot. You need to empty your bladder before you head down to the hills. Bring water with you. Dont worry you will be sweating it out on your way up. Worth every step.
There is no place to camp at Hampton Pool.. There is a Travis county park right down the road not sure if you can camp.
Yes. There is also a fee to make the reservation. Then you pay an entrance fee at the park.
This is all hill country and private residences. You may need to find a public place and then meet and drive up. All cars going in must show proof of your reservation before allowed in. You go through two stops in fact. Reservation verification then parking payment and rules.
It's a naturally formed pool so it varies. Along the banks is quite shallow. In the middle more than 6 feet. There is also a diving board.
Normally in summer you can not book because it is usually full. I suggest you call porntelefonony to make sure. I booked at the beginning of spring for the month of September. But it's worth it. Also this year there is a lot of water and it is beautiful.
You have to register before you come to the place. One car can consist of 8 people maximum
Make a reservation! It is limited admittance.
I only saw them around the parking lot area.
Almost all of August I'd booked. I made my reservation in March, for June.
Yes have to make reservations, they fill quickly
$ 15 per vehicle. Make the reservation as soon as possible.
Yes but you must make a reservation online and at the gate they take cash only
No, the park requires a check in at the gate, as well as a $15 parking fee.
Reservation Fee - PAID ONLINE (Required Daily from March to October, and Weekends and Holidays from November to February) - is $11 per vehicle. Day Use - PAID UPON ARRIVAL is $15 per vehicle. Pedestrian/Bicyclist - PAID UPON ARRIVAL is $8 per person.
Let them know when you check in and you should be fine to stay. They have a ranger who'll ask people to start packing up just have documentation available.
Good afternoon. You have to go in your car to the parking lot of the place and then walk to the Natural pool. It is a very nice and cozy itinerary among the silvers. I recommend it a lot. It's unique.
No just some trails and the water reserve, make sure to bring food since it's out in the middle of nowhere
Yes, many.
Per vehicle. Go to the website for information.
I don't know with certainty, but I don't see why not.
If you check the web, somr days not required, normally reservations on weekends
I doubt if you can swim at this time but it's a beautiful place.
Hamilton Pool Preserve is a county park so they don't take the state park pass.
Visitors are not allowed to go to the cliffs. There are two trails. One goes to the pool. The other goes to the river.
I'm almost certain that drones are NOT allowed. I think there is a sign to that effect at the entry to the preserve.
Yeah, but it's a pretty good hike down the trail about 400 meters at least. I'd take a baby harness, and if you can something soft so put on the ground for lounging.
No but it may be required on the weekend.
Check the website, i think reservation is required till Nov 1st. We went last week, it was full
https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/find-a-park/hamilton-pool check out this website. You have ro have reservations.
Not cause hurracine
There is no policy regarding service dogs, but you can call hamilton pool discuss your reservation and ask them.
If all 7 can fit into one vehicle, you should be fine
I went there one March with no reservations. No trouble getting in. Was not crowded. Was beautiful.
Reservations are required, and you have to do them with enough anticipation (2 weeks al least). It is fully booked for several weeks often.
Gilda Ramirez Here is the link. Sorry it's a little late https://secure.emybill.com/parks/reservation/base/TravisHamilton/publicSite/main.faces
It's a really beautiful and unique spot in TX. I have been every summer for a few years and would say it's worth it if the trip described on the website is something you are interested in.
Yes it is. And you need to reserve through their website to get access.
It can change...so be sure to call them before going
Bring water, as there is nowhere to fill water bottles there. Also, don't bring glass or pets. They have life jackets for public use, but I bring my own for the kiddos. The trail down to the pool is not stroller friendly, so be prepared to carry little ones about 1/4 mile down a rocky trail.
It's priced per car, so as few or many in your car is fine.
There is nothing like wait list.
It's $ 11 to book online, then you have to pay $ 15 per vehicle (in cash) when you get there. Its $ 11 to reserve online, then you have to pay $ 15 per vehichle (in cash) when you get there.
It usually depends on a few different things, like rainfall and bird activity for a few. So, it changes often. Check onlline or call before your reservation.
Yes but it is quite a hike to the swimming area
No restrictions
There are no cabins or overnight campgrounds at this park. There is nothing to buy there, so you would only pay the entrance fee.
You can swim if bacteria levels are low. That information is updated on the Travis County website. You can't get in unless you prepurchase a reservation from the website.
Go to their website and make a reservation
Contact management.
It'll only take a few minutes. They need to verify each car has a reservation, then quickly verify there are no pets and tell you where to pay. Then youll be on your way in!
Yes, I dont see any problem in it.
I contacted Travis county Parks and they said i would be fine if I brought 8 people instead of the 6 i requested. I will update after I actually go there this weekend.
"NO" NOT DEEP ENOUGH
You can bring you own camera out there or professionals but you have to ensure all parties have reservations
Yes. You have to make a reservation per line and it costs $ 10 per car. It does not matter if you are 2 or 5 or 8 people, the $ 10 is only for the reservation, they only allow you to stay 4 hours. From 9 to 1 or from 2 to 6pm. When you arrive you pay $ 15 that is for access to that and all the other parks that are around. (the pass is for a single day). I hope the information will help you
There are picnic table's in parking lot when you arrive, we took something to drink with us and came back to the top to eat our lunch.
Well someone has to maintain the park, keep people from destroying the natural habitat, and pay for the workers who keep this place a truly beautiful site
You have to book your reservation in advance, so they only have a certain amount of slots. I would rather go on a packed day, when it's warm, so you can swim, over a less busy day, when it's cold, and cannot swim. Summer is the best :)
15 to 20 minutes walk, yes you can take your dog with lease .
If you are asking about another trail within Hamilton pool: the trail is about 3 miles and it will take you to a secluded river with lots of grotto. The serenity is worth it. It's easier than the trail from the parking lot to the pool. The trail from the parking lot to the actual Hamilton pool is about 30min. Going down is easy, but walking back up on a hot day with a crowded group proves difficult for an eighty-year-old man.
No it’s not free. It’s $26 for 4 hours reservation required or basically the same price to get into Yosemite National Park... FOR A WEEK!
They only take reservations during the summer months. Last year I believe the reservation system opened around April.
During the high season, reservations are often required. October - March usually don't require reservations, but it's worth calling ahead before making the drive.
Flat entrance fee: $15/car. Max 7 people/car. RSVP fee is $10. No tube rental.
