Never been there but my extended family awaits as the cat and/or dog will choose me.

They will never (and I mean never) respond to your inquiries. Don't waste your time, go find a different animal shelter.

Trying to be a good citizen and report a stray dog that almost got hit by 4 cars. Animal Control was so rude and did not want to come to pick up the dog. I don't have a car so this young blonde girl told me to ask neighbors to give me a ride. Saying try other things like social media anything because their too busy to come pick up the dog. I thought this was a place that helps animals they seem to only care about any but that. They said it would be hours before they could help. Then she shows up 30 mins later doesnt knock or ring the door bell. I just hear my dog so I look out the door. Shes rude saying why am I watching her when Im checking on the dog thats on my porch this is my house Very improfessional.

Wish I could adopt them all
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
I had to go to the shelter and get my question answered and my situation taken care of.
It's important to disclose as much information as possible so that the councilors can appropriately help with placement
Yes. They have various things that volunteers can do to help animals everyday
If I can take them there I'll take my dog there on Saturdays
At the Denver Animal Shelter personally fence
Yes, they are! I just dropped off a whole box of blankets for them. We just need to wear a mask is all. Hope this helps!
I'm not sure but you can always call and find out
No. They accept walk ins
Denver animal control, they have a variety of animals, from chicken's to dogs on Platte River drive.off 1-25 and alameda
Call them, they can prepare shot records for you.
Addison, yes and yes. I have 4 kids--we go there all the time to volunteer. They allow 12 yo to be there without adults, and definitely sign up for their volunteer program--no obligations! :)
Call animal control they will come do a welfare check.
If they are castrated but I don't know how much they charge. You can call and ask the days you can take your pet and how much they charge me. Good luck☺.
I found a rabbit 2 days ago abaandoned in a cage with a bowl of food . i have been looking for places that will take her . i cant keep her anymore . will they take her?
Pretty sure that it's 9am-11am on Saturdays. You could probably call to verify schedule.
They do on the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday. $35.00 Includes rabies, distemper, parvo, and a one year license. 🐕
During certain specials, like "no-fee November," they cut the fees to "pay what you can," but usually there is a cost for all the vet care they've provided. It's very reasonable, the dogs are fixed and up to date on their shots for an entire year. My dog cost $130.
Maybe go to their website and email them to call u back.
They are super friendly but busy, may be easier to go in and ask over phone
Yes, check the website under services
I have seen a donation button on the animal shelters website.
They need blankets toys and food for all animals. You can also check their wishlist on their website
I don't think we've met. Sorry. As for shots you may know better than I do. We made our first and only visit on Thursday to view then bring home a cat we 'd seen and liked on their website.
If you live in the Denver area, you should be able too
I believe that it varies with what type of shot it is
Personally I would not I have heard it is a good match it just depends on the temperament of the pit bull it's a trial and error with the pit bull breed
I'm asking since I have 2 dogs that followed me home in Montbello. They were probably abandoned since they were slightly malnourished, dehydrated and extremely tired. They've taken at least 3 naps close to 1 hour each
As far as I know, yes they take cats. There is a $100 Surrender Fee for dogs. I don't know what it is for cats. I was the fee helps to offset the cost of shelter, food, medical and overall well being of the cat or dog. If you're giving up your kitty, I wish you well. If you're getting a kitty congratulations!!! : ) I miss my little babies. They were SO SWEET.
You have to talk to make an appointment
I don't know about Max fine but I know they do care and they help animals and they will help you get adoption is the best
I'm not certain...
Oh my gosh that would be anserwd by your municipality...
I'm not certain they do...
Theresa I wouldn't know...
Theresa I'm not an expert but I know that a place a Harlan does income base veterinary help... I'm not certain the name but they are out there...
I don't work there but you can stop by too see is the best way to get a hold of them.
Yes walk-ins are permitted. Though lobby will be locked. There is 2 blue feet on the ground by the door stand on them and someone will help you shortly. Good luck adopting!
All adoptable pets can be found here: https://www.denvergov.org/Government/Departments/Animal-Shelter/Adopt-a-Pet/Adoptable-Pets-Online
If you have paperwork the contact information should be listed, if not then go to the DAS website and call the main number and they will assist you.
I don't think so
I'm not sure if they do? But I have a dog if you want to get it gone.
Probably $15 it's considered a "other " animal. Look on the website
Check lost and found on the website and the dogs with nothing listed next to them is more and likely ready for adoption but always check with the shelter. You can put a hold on one that you see. $20 for the hold.
Denver dumb friends league as they do the best job with vet care, behavioral issues, and getting the animals adopted out. I wish you and your family the best. It is hard to surrender a pet!
I believe they reopened the last week of May.
For the moment they only charge rehoming fee for the lost and found dogs, they are not breeders they don't have puppies all year long. See their website to know what they have.
You can find their hours on their website. However I believe that they have overnight drop boxes so that as long as they're not already full if you have found an animal that's lost, you can potentially leave it in a drop box where it will be warm and safe and they will process the dog or cat into their system the following morning. You should look at their website and confirm that. And if it happens to be full before you get there then there's nothing you can do except take the animal and keep it overnight. They probably have a form for you to fill out if you drop an animal that asks things like where did you find the animal and that's really important to help the Denver animal shelter find the animals owner.
Denver dumb Friends league ~ my service dog was Saint Bernard bone cancer set in quick Denver dumb Friends told me they would take care of Thor for what I had in my pocket. Because they don't believe any animal should suffer.. it cost me less than $25 and every place in town wanted to charge me per pound. Living on a fixed income I could not afford a per pound price with 180 lb dog.
Call for this information. They accept strays free
They have pups and kitties there not only animals that are full age
311 should be able to tell you. Kittens and puppies are the most expensive. Seniors, the least.
Try 3-1-1
The mix of animals varies almost daily. You can look on their web site for current availability.
Sometimes they get other animals call and find out. When I got my kitty they had a toaster a pig and a bird
I'm not an employee or a volunteer so I don't know. You might give them a call.
Only unopened I believe
Yes . Bringing their toys can help with the stress
My puppy is 2 mons old he cost 250 but it was worth it 😃
Absolutely. Please bring the dog into the shelter. If it is during a time we are closed, please utilize the night drop boxes that will be open. If you do leave the dog in the night drop, please fill out one of the forms to give us as much info as you can (i.e., where you found the dog, any behavior/health info, etc.). Thank you!
We don't currently have rabbits, but we do get them regularly. If you're interested in our volunteer program, all the info you will need is on our website here: https://www.denvergov.org/content/denvergov/en/denver-animal-shelter/volunteer.html
Mostly noise ordinance after 9 its frowned upon and in apartments and townhomes you can have issues with your babies that can lead to your termination of your lease
Denver animal shelter would be able to help
Yes, adoptable animals are spayed or neutered before, being placed into adoptable status.
According to dumb friends league as long as the dog is not sick and suffering they will not put it down.
Check their website.
Verify that info online. And sometimes there are special adoption events and pricing
Possibly info available online. They have special prices from time to time.
They do take donations but the best thing I can suggest is to go to the website and ask or phone them
What you are asking makes no sense.
No
Yeah they do offer it.
I don't have any idea if they do or don't , however it would be worth calling them and let them know what happened , sorry for your loss
They are pretty open and receptive to most any kind of volunteer work and help
10:30am - 6:30pm most days.
Yes you can please think about making a donation to the shelter to help feed the animal you found
I don't believe it does but there is a low cost vet. Hospital named Harrison memorial animal hospital near the shelter. I strongly recommend you call the Denver Animal shelter and ask them for advice
Call them they should be able to provide a copy.
Agree w. answers
Probably not but you might try calling them and ask. The idea of your pet staying is to make sure there are no complications from the surgery
I'm sure they do
I do know that they are not a kill shelter because they told me that if owners dont claim their pets with in 30 daus is when they put them up for adootion and then when their not adooted they have a free dog and cat event twice a month so your best bet would be to call them
Excuse me, do you still have them ???
I personally do not work there but you could always go see if they may have any small breeds for adoption.
You need to have an official letter of certification that it is an Esa. To get that you need statements of health and behavior. There are websites that you can use to get the certificate. Anywhere from 50 to 150 depending on if it's needed for flying with they Esa, or just for housing. What exactly are you trying to do at the shelter that you would need an Esa letter?
They do dovthem however to find out the schedule you have to call them.
Every vet office and animal shelter has the ability to scan your dog to find the chip..you should register your dogs chip, so it can be found in the micticuip database thats on the computer..
Start shots@ 8 weeks, not sure when they open
Call 311 with the address of the dog. Give a description of the dog. An officer will probably come out and speak to you and may ask for a statement regarding your encounter or witness of the dogs behavior.
Yes, you can set up an appointment. They also do free vaccines once a month. Need to call them and find out when.
They will hold him for you but there is a $50 fee. You should get him microchipped so that they call you when they find him.
They have I think 24 hours to pick dead animal up. I called one day because I came upon a dead dog on a sidewalk as I was walking mine. Only to have the owner come out and say it was hers. I called animal control because the owner was not doing anything. I drove by 5 hours later. There was a trash bag on the sidewalk. I thought I hope that is not the dog. It was I called again I was told they have 24 hours.
If you live in Denver county, yes
Pet smarts offer obedience classes
Adult girl ... I need all the information in Spanish
Unaccompanied volunteers must be 16+ years old and commit to at least 8 hr/month for 6 months in a regular weekly or bi-weekly schedule.
Downtown Veterinary on Galapagos right behind West High school.
On Saturdays and Sundays between 11-2 they do $35 vaccines.
They do get in huskies, but they may be mixed breeds. Still wonderful, lovable pets though!
No not part of max fund but all organizations have wonderful animals for adoption
These questions are answered by other users, not the shelter. They do allow volunteers according to the website, you should check there for more information.
We swapped the dry food from chicken based to salmon, pork.
Call 311, that will connect you to animal protection & the shelter.
Call 311, they will direct you to animal protection who will get things back on the right track.
Today is the day... hopefully they're not all already adopted out. They are charging $ 400.00 a piece. That's the only reason I didn't get one. The money earned will go toward the shelter.
These questions are answered by other users, not the shelter. For pricing information you will probably want to call them.
