However I believe that they have overnight drop boxes so that as long as they're not already full if you have found an animal that's lost, you can potentially leave it in a drop box where it will be warm and safe and they will process the dog or cat into their system the following morning. You should look at their website and confirm that. And if it happens to be full before you get there then there's nothing you can do except take the animal and keep it overnight. They probably have a form for you to fill out if you drop an animal that asks things like where did you find the animal and that's really important to help the Denver animal shelter find the animals owner.
