Amazing and beautiful place to learn more about a part of our country's history.

Yes.
Yes but the visitor's center is only open Thursday to Monday. They are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You also have to pay to get in to the cyclorama theater. I believe it is $15 a person. But that also includes a small film, the cyclorama, and the museum all located inside the visitor's center.
The center does not enforce its own rule regarding mask wearing. The museum is very crowded with small spaces. My group of 4 felt very uncomfortable with respect to Covid spreading potential and we left a few minutes into a museum visit we had paid for.
The folks at the museum will be glad to help you.
Yeah, I'm not quite sure what "Plein Air" is. You should probably ask and NPS ranger or an official who might know.
Someone has to much spare time.
Yes! It's in the gift shop/ book store. The actual stamp is located near all the books. 😊
You can visit the center and store for free but the museum and show has a fee
They have bike tours you can do through the park. GettysBike Tours
To avoid contaminants.
They do offer group discounts on package deals like bus tour & museum. I think 10 is a group but not 100% sure. We were only a group of 4 so we went to gift shop and bought this great audio tour CD for $30. Spent about 3 hours on 25 mile tour. Getting out of car to explore on the very hot day.
It was named after D L Cress, the great American Googler.
They have a lot of different prices. We went with the basic tour and it was 9 dollars. We were there oven a hour. There is a lot to see. No enterence fee.
I think she covered everything
Free to enter Gettysburg. Tours are additional. There is a tour available for $60 USD which has a certified historian drive with you through the site. It lasts three hours. I highly recommend this! Admission to the movie, museum, etc is $15 adults and $14 for kids. There is a charge ($9 for adults and $6 for ages 6-12) for Eisenhower NPS and you can only access it via a bus grom Gettysburg.
Adult (ages 13+) = $18.75 Seniors (65+), Military Veterans, AAA = $17.75 Youth (ages 6-12) = $13.75 Active Duty U.S. Military Personnel = FREE Children (5 and under) = FREE Group Rates Adult = $16.75 Student (K-12) = $12.75
A living history event took place on 1-3 July. The next one in the area will be held on 16-18 September at the Daniel Lady Farm, 986 Hanover Rd, Gettysburg, PA.
Head north toward the town of Gettysburg. Entrance is on left about a half mile b4 town line.
Yes well worth the money.
Go to the National Park website. Very helpful.
Look on NPS.gov for a all government jobs
Can't answer that. Would have to check website
We downloaded a free driving tour that turned out to only narrate a fraction of the stops unless you purchased a book for $15 or so, if I remember correctly..... worth the $15, for sure.
WWII Antiques dealer or a Local AMVETS or AMERICAN LEGION Post or ask around these or just look it up on the Google under WWII Metals then do a match or similar too
You deffinatly want to see the movie and the giant painted in the visiter center that was amazing
It depends on what "walking distance" means. It would be a pretty good hike from one area to another. You really need to drive from place to place.
Everything should be open in September before the winter weather is on its way - a great time to visit after the summer heat and crowds.
Team, for the museum, service animal. For field tours, dogs are fine
Depending on how much time you have I recommend starting your day at the visitor's center and at least seeing the orientation film and walk through the museum. While the cyclorama is amazing I don't consider it a must see unless you have extra time in your schedule or unless you will be there multiple days. That said with summer upon us now is a good time of year to work the cyclorama into a visit due to the extra sunlight that will allow you to extend your battlefield touring into around 8 pm
Plan on taking the entire day if you are interested in the history of the Civil War. Recommend taking a guided tour first then striking our on your own to explore the places that interested you most. The cemetery is a good place to finish especially if you can time it to hear them play taps.
It can be used the same day at any time but I don't believe that you can use it the next day
Don't forget the Jennie Wade House. Gettysburg is a great place to visit. Go often. It's really great at night too.
The price is free if you do it on your own. There are also bus tours available. We bought the CD and followed the grounds with it. CD was very informational. CD cost 22 dollars.
Recommend personal tour. You would have trouble on buses.
