We needed a boat registration and permit transfer, and this was the closest location within the Gettysburg region. It was a little bit difficult to schedule with the only person that is capable of doing both transfers, since he only schedules a few hours a week to dedicate to this procedure. Once we were given a "window of time he'd be available", we proceeded to Gettysburg Marine Center, at Lake Heritage (gated community). The transactions went rather smoothly, although there is no Notary Public on the premises, or nearby 🤨 The girl buying the boat from me, STILL had to return to a Notary, because one single line hadn't been notarized 😠 The person who helped us, was very accommodating, and made a complicated process, less so. (Seriously though --- the process to purchase and register a handgun was MUCH easier than this was) Note: This is NOT the dealership's fault, although I think they SHOULD provide Notary services. All-in-all, it ended up being a good experience and service at the Gettysburg Marine Center. ----------------------------------------------------- Subnote: Pennsylvania's arcane rules, dictated by the PA Fishing and Boating Commission, make this process MUCH more difficult that it needs be. Same with getting a Fishing License! In MD, some places use a bar-scanner to read your Driver's License, and... process COMPLETE! Not PA --- here, you have to suffer through some slow clerk, at whatever hardware, bait, or sports store you happen to find, who has to key in all info by hand & scan... and of course, they ALL use the "single-finger, hunt & peck" typing style. 😁 Unbelievable. 😕
