Beautiful memorial and we'll kept cemetery. So much fascinating history here.

A humbling location steeped in history, quiet and tranquil, only a short walk away from the park entrance and parking lot but hidden behind a privacy fence and beautifully maintained landscaping as to avoid being disrespectful or gaudy. The professional tour guides who sweep through the area with groups of people in tow definitely know their material, and this is a must-see for any scholar of American military history and/or Abe Lincoln’s life and legacy.

A place to honor those who fought and gave their lives against slavery.

So this is the spot where the famous Gettysburg address was given. It of course looks nothing like it did on that day but thats ok because in it's place is this fine statue. I really had this bone chilling thought trying my best to think what that moment must have been like, to have that moment in history in front of you. This is a must on any list of things to do.
