Plan on taking the entire day if you are interested in the history of the Civil War. Recommend taking a guided tour first then striking our on your own to explore the places that interested you most. The cemetery is a good place to finish especially if you can time it to hear them play taps.
Weather will be good. It can take all day or a couple hours, depending on how in-depth you want to go.
I spent 2 days in Gettysburg, which I felt was sufficient if you want to spend time in the town as well.
A military bugle that plays to signal the end of a day, etc. I recommend seeing the museum before seeing the battlefield. You'll understand much more.
July is usually hot. You should plan at least 6 hours to tour the battlefields and surrounding areas. Have a good day.
