Recommend personal tour. You would have trouble on buses.
I recommend the self-guided auto tour for ease and comfort. You can buy a CD at the museum gift shop that narrates the various points on the tour. There are books as well.

It is wheelchair accessible but to see all of the grounds which is 24 miles you can do the car tour at your own pace. The grounds are uphill at times which can be rough if you are in a manual wheelchair.
