I called about an injured homeless cat the girl said she couldn't help me call animal control and hung up the phone I'm not real impressed with them but they did send me an invitation for $200 ticket party

Horrible, Me and my wife tried to adopt 7 year old cat sitting in pet smart for 2 years. From get go and adoption application we were treated with disrespect and unprofessionalism . Employee in Saint Louis Pet Smart told us that poor kitty sitting there for 2 years in 2'x2' cage and that organization is "looking" for appropriate candidate. They also told us that they use animals in cat cafe establishments. They originally told us that "application" for adoption takes 3-5 days. After that time we inquired in store and they put sign that "application" takes 5-10 days. Employees there told us "if application does not work" we should go to Arnold which is "friendlier" store. We have 2 cats 10 and 17 year old that we love as our children. Our 17 year passed away so we were looking to save another kitty. Than after 12 days rejection came without explanation or any details. Just " You are rejected" for poor soul sitting behind glass for 2 long years. I do not need to explain how they make good cat parents feel. Do not go there. They are cruel, toward their animals which they use as cash cow and toward poor people walking to pet smart. Still feel heart broken for cat trapped for 2 years in pet smart cage 2'x2' , just to be there to attract foot traffic for this unscrupulous people. Please if you know how to help this cat let me know, I do not need to adopt her she just need life out of that glass in st Louis pet smart (2'x2' cage)

Contact them last thing they want is dogs going to bad place. Randy and his staff at stay rescue are angels
If you live in the city you can call Stray Rescue or City animal care and control. For County you need to call their animal control try contacting Feral outreach if they are cats
I have two free 5 month old kittens, an all black boy and an orange and white girl. They have been spayed and neutered, vaccines are up to date and they don't have fleas or tics. My six year old is allergic to cats and we just found. They are available immediately.
Call Stray Rescue if they are available they'll come to get her
Please reach out to Stray Rescue directly. Please do not list the dog for sale. The wrong type of people will possibly harm the dog. They will work with you.
You probably need to call your local animal control before you call Stray Rescue. It depends on the situation whether they would come get them
Please, if you are in the city, give either Stray Rescue or CARE a call! Both are still open.
Go to strayrescue.org and there is an application
You really need to call the shelter and they will transfer you to the person you need to talk to
I'm not a worker there, but I'm pretty sure they'll take them.
You might want to call them first. Let them know where they were found, etc. Hope this helps
I Think they only admite Cats and Dogs
Call animal control you also can try to call stray rescue or the police stray rescue have a lot of numbers that you can call if they can't rescue the dog
195.00 I believe for dogs over 6-7 months and I'm not sure for puppies I think 250.00
Hi Brionne. I would call in & tell them you have an unwanted animal. Tell them you heard they take very good care of their animal's. According to a recent visitor. Good luck!
Yes they do.
Please call them directly to find out this information.
I believe they pick up stray animals every day. I would give them a call and ask.
Check out St. Louis House Rabbit Society!
Go to their FB page and it will give you directions. Or call, the number in on the page. They're very helpful. I just adopted from them, they're fantastic. 👍👍👍
If they won't try Gateway Pet Guardians.
Agreed. They spay/neuter, microchip & have necessary starter shots. We adopted a 2 month old Maltese mix with an adoption fee of $200
I believe they do. Best to call them
Stray Rescue will not adopt unless your other animals get their shots
You need to call stray rescue to see if they have space! If they're full they can give you a few numbers of other rescues or animal control. If stray can't take the dog take it straight to animal control they have to take it as long as it is in the city
What's wrong with you people?? You can't give up a dog, or would you put up your kids for adoption, too? How uncaring and stupid!
Stray Rescue is a rescue organization and not a veterinarian.
They offer training classes and they are great
Applications for adoption can be submitted online through their website.
They mostly get mixed breeds and can't guarantee if there are non shedding dogs. Your best bet is to call them and ask.
Dogs 6 months and older are $100 and pups are $200
Stray rescue doesn't take animals that are being surrendered. Google no kill shelters near me and start calling around.
This message is for PeggyFor the pit puppies she was showing on the internet
https://www.strayrescue.org/volunteer-at-our-shelter That information is located here on their website :)
Not sure what you're asking
Stray rescue is not a vet they just save strays. Your best bet would to make a Facebook post for help.
Yes you can!! Go to strayrescue.org and fill out an app to volunteer. We also have the Second Chance Resale Store that you can sign up to help
Depends on where you live. If you are in the county you need to contact animal control and same with the city is their animal control. Another option is Carestl which is part of the city pound but it is the Rescue part. I would give them a call or they can find a rescue that can take to call
Harris is doing really good but he isn't ready to be adopted yet.
Ol Red is adopted and best friends with his cat friend in their home :)
I don't know I only adopt my dog from there.
They only take strays not owner surrendered
Dogs are not donated. Stray Rescue saves dogs from the streets of all ages.
I have a question I’m 13 I’m rlly hard working and adore animals and it’s always been my dream to be a veterinarian and to help dogs and other animals is there any places you know who would let me volunteer?
Please call them, they will try to help you the best they can
Could also go on petfinder.com do a shelter search and look for other rescues if SRSTL can't help out
Absolutely, just call and ask
Stray rescue is the solution. I got both my pets there
If you want her to have the dog she can take it with her. As long as where she lives will accept animals.
I'm sorry but I don't know. I went there to support them for a news conference about Faust. I know that sometimes they have specials where a business will pay for all adoptions during a certain time period. Just give them a call. They are very nice.
Yes they do
If you are in St louis county you need to call county animal control.
They will help the best they can. I recommend calling them
After your application is viewed you may be introduced to dog-friendly adoptable pets at the shelter or referred to a a dog foster. A "meet b'day greet" would be scheduled after your first shelter visit.
I suggest giving them a call. Sometimes adoptions are covered or partially covered by an outside donation. I'd also suggest looking at the website first and find the pet your interested in.
Yes!! They are always looking for fosters! Go fill out an application at strayrescue.org and they will get in touch with you
I'm not sure. You can call them
I had no problem. Someone is always there. I adopted my dog . did you fill out application online and pick your pet. Wait 3 days then call to verify they rec it. Go get your pet next day.
Pictures are available on website. You can also see animals that are being processed and pending for adoption.
That is a question best asked the people there not here.
You need to call the shelter to see what dogs are available at any given time.
Best to just bring them in. Puppies are adopted fast. They are VERY busy so getting replies doesn't happen fast. You could call. The do have volunteers maning the phones. https://www.strayrescue.org/
For questions about a specific dog, you can call the shelter directly. You can also put an application in online, so that you are already in the system.
The number of animals and their personalities is so variable, your best option is to put in an application and tell Julia/Julie that you would like a pair or combo. City Animal Control sometimes receives bonded families of animals, which would be adopted through the same process as Stray Rescue. Good luck with your search and thank you for adopting!
To volunteer, go to the website, and sign up for an orientation spot. Every volunteer has to complete the orientation before they can start.
Check her body for painful areas. Gently squeeze. Ever part of her. Any negative reaction, go see a vet. Our Staffy/boxer mix is fearless, then he sees a stick in my hand and he crumbles. He was a rescue from Stray Rescue. Outside of getting a Cesar Milan type dog whisperer.. socialize your dog with group training. Calm treats with 5HTP, etc basically natural dog psychological supplements. Doggy CBD is also a great thing to help calm dogs. Even a thunder shirt will help with anxiety.
Probably not something they'd need but would get a better answer by calling them directly
Go along with what Karen Adams said
Lap of Love, i used them with my dog a few months ago.
I would suggest you go to the shelter and ask to speak with an adoption team member. That is the fastest and easiest way to get you a dog. Right now until the end of June Imo's pizza are paying the adoption fees for dogs 6 months and older.
Did you try going to our Facebook page and click just on photos ?
Your best bet would be to call them I believe they still offer dog training classes.
If you call Stray Rescue directly they may have a list of phone numbers of vets that may help at a reduced cost/payment plan. Stray Rescue does not accept owner surrenders nor vet services for animals not adopted through them directly
They are big on matching the owner up with the right dog for them
Be careful and don't be fooled of the term, "no kill shelters". They don't kill them at their facility, but if they get over crowded they will go to the pound and be uthinized. Someone I know worked at the pound and about 30 dogs and cats came in from one place and were kept in cages until the next "scheduled vet appointment" and they all were gone in an hour. And if you think uthinizatuon is done correctly and painlessly, think again. It's about money and most are left to suffer before they die. Made my friend sick and then quit. Sad but true people. The County Pounds will not adopt out an aggressive dog either. They test them with human contact as well as with other animals. They are given so much time to pass the tests and then put down. Even if there is progress with an animal. Times up and gone. Just keep in mind. If there is truly a no kill shelter that keeps the animals until natural death, it would be a building the size of Texas. Think about it.
If you live in the city you can call Animal care and control. If you are in the county you need to call humane society. If you call Stray Rescue they can give you more about who to call
I would probably call the humane society or local rescue organization in Illinois
looking for alost cat name lola lost in burlington downs area. white with black spots no tags or chip
Call
I know Stray Rescue only takes care of the shelter animals until they are adopted or if it is a special medical case for the ones adopted from them. Call and they can give you some info of where you can get help. I know a few people were sent to Mizzou for low cost treatment
They take it dogs and cats from all over, not just the city.
I would call Stray Rescue to find out more about him. Depending on the age what the adoption fee. For right now until March 1st the adoption fee is waived for dogs 6 months and older.
If you adopted the dog from SR, they will take the dog back. Just call them and explain your situation.
They will work with you on that. Most of the time if it is farther away or in another state we have you send us a couple of videos like of your backyard and where the dog will be staying
If you've adopted a dog from stray rescue I do believe they offer a set number of free training classes at the time of adoption. If you've adopted a dog else where I suggest contacting Stray Rescue directly for resources and further information.
You could adopt a dog in a day, even a young dog. However, because of the higher demand for puppies it would be unlikely to move through the waiting list in 3 days. Your best bet, as always, is to visit the shelter.
Yes there are many dogs available for adoption. If you submit an adoption application you should be able to adopt, please budget for 20 mins to fill the application.
They had changed the website awhile back and yes it is harder to find the adoptable dogs. You can view the dogs under the Get involved tab at the top. Click on adopt and you will see the photos of the available. It's also best to fill out the application online to speed up the process of them getting back to you. If you are just looking for say a male dog you can just put that in instead of naming just one dog. They will have you come to the shelter to meet some of them. Also the adoption fee is being payed by a sponsor now. It is usually 100. This is only for dogs 6 months and older. Puppies are 150 and they aren't included in the sponsor program
I'm not involved in that part of the shelter. They don't take owner surrenders
You can send a card to Stray Rescue of Saint Louis 2320 Pine Street Saint Louis,Missouri 63103
Call them, this is not stray rescue. It's a question site to ask questions of people who have been there.
I don't believe there's pictures of the dogs in the shelter. If your interested in adopting come during operation hours and fill out an adoption application. Once the application is filed the adoption team with work with you to find a good match.
General operation hours are 8am to 6pm.
Hello, I'm so needing a new puppy. Both of our dogs we had to say bye to within two months time. Very shocking. They were seen on a regular visit every year and just went down hill quickly and we are at a loss. We've always had a dog over 30 years. We would prefer a more shedless puppy however they seem to be hard to find and I'm not comfortable going to just any breeder. I should prefer one that has been recurred.
