The dog my family and I adopted from Stray Rescue STL came from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. There is an organization called Pets with wings and travelers escort animals to shelters all over the States via American Airlines St. Thomas has an overabundance of animals and not enough homes to support the population of stray, abandoned and unwanted animals. We love our Island Dog, Buddy!!
