Loved it and our stay, we will definitely be back.

This was our 2nd visit to the Dunes Village Resort and our 1st with my immediate family, only. Our visit was outstanding and I would have rated the room a '5' had it not been for the following: 1. The condition of the couch + pull-out bed. 2. The lack of bed linens for the pull-out bed or the Murphy bed. The mattresses were paper-thin for the most part and the mattress covers needed to be cleaned and/or replaced. These particular beds weren't essential for our stay -- one of the kids just wanted their own sleeping area outside of the main bedroom -- so it didn't really make much of a difference in the long run. We just didn't use either of those beds. Everything else was great! The water pressure and temperature was good, the iron worked and wasn't leaky/rusty, the ironing board was in great condition, the TVs worked (2 of them), the beds were comfortable and the kitchen area + dishes were nice and clean when we arrived. We had the Oceanfront Queen Suite and it was worth every penny! As you can see from the photos, the day was beautiful and it was October! 74° and 0% humidity out here!! Unreal!! We'll definitely be coming back when we can get more time to do so?

Brie at the front desk was great! She was friendly and very knowledgeable. Great smile too

Rooms need updated. Staff are friendly. Need better organization for checking in. Need more control over guests

I would contact the resort. Also, did you book through the resort or external? If you booked or placed through an external website it may be non-refundable. It will depend upon the website (i.e. Orbitz, kayak, etc...) and their own unique terms.
Hwy.17, Walmart Market( only)..full Walmart just up the hwy... only minutes away.
Yes there is definitely rental chairs etc for the beach.
We just did 8 nights at a 4 bedroom 4 bath penthouse for $2700, including all taxes and fees. It was gorgeous and HUGE and I thought that rate was outstanding.
It's right on the beach. You just walk downstairs and out to the beach
We stayed in the penthouse. It is simply the 13th floor, it's the same as all the other floors. By calling it the penthouse floor, superstitious people don't have to stay on the "unlucky" 13th floor... Can still hear the surf, good views, we enjoyed our stay!
They have unloading parking, then garage parking across the road. They run a shuttle back and forth but its only a block or so out of the road side of the
Yes there is! There is a public beach access parking lot to the right of the hotel. Easy to get to and nice if you have a wagon.
Water park is open durning the winter months but it is virtually unusable due to the cold water. If it is heated, you cannot tell. I am there now and am very disappointed. Have 4 grands here ages 4 to 9. It was too cold for them and most of the other kids were hunkered down in the jacuzzi. Not a winter wonderland!
We cooked in, picnicked on the beach , or are in restaurants. There is no meal plan.
Open but not heated. There is a hot tub though
Honestly I don't know for sure, But I think they do. The Suites are really nice and there on sale right now.
Yeah but they are so crowded with kids and not very hot so they aren't very relaxing
Is it pet friendly
This hotel is NOT the best. Only reason I could see people thinking that it’s the best is because they have a bunch of kids and don’t want to spend extra for a better stay somewhere else. The hotel is 2 stars at best. It’s really just a giant motel 6 overrun with children.
You should be able to get 1 for every vehicle.
No breakfast is not included. It is 9.95 pp as a buffet. If you pre-order then you save $1 off the price.
Yes it is. We were there last week and all the i door pools, slides and splash pad were open.
Yes
They have suites which is all in one together...1 bedroom units, 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom and 4 bedroom units.
U be bookin off the property in cuffs if u do. Free water park nearby called The Atlantic.
They gave me extra wristbands for for my guests that were visiting for the day when I checked in.
I went this past weekend in a wheel chair. It was not easy but it worked. They could definitely be more handicap accessible. I had a great time though.
It is not! Each guest has a wrist band to show you are allowed on the property. Your card for the room is scanned at each gate entrance that allows you on to the property as well.
I don't think there is a shuttle use local cab service or Uber. Fees included in hotel stay.
No they do not you have to go to a stand alone Starbucks to use a gift card.sorry
As far as I know you can pay cash but you need to have the credit/debit card you used to book the room with you and it must be an active card. But to be real, I'd just call first.
For larger vehicles they have an outdoor parking lot. I didn't park in the garage.
I saw roaches at the pool, and on the last nignt killed one on my foot. July of 2020
Yes, I think you just go to the front desk and get one and then you can go in
If I remeber correctly, 9 or 10 am until 10 pm
There is no water volley ball area. Only a beach/sand volley ball area between the hotel and beach. They only have water basketball in the pool area. It's a good idea to bring your own balls. Also... they have tennis court and half size basketball court behind the large parking deck across the road from hotel.. again best if you bring your own balls/equipment
The mini golf course isn't all that. The clubs and balls are all scattered out in the yard and each hole are just about a like just turned a little different.
I don't think so. You have to get an email for discounts; in my experience.
No, we stayed there about a month ago.
Studios do not have laundry. Only suites do. Otherwise, there's laundry room in both building.

It closes early, around 2 or 3pm. Also make sure you bring ID if paying with cards because they won't serve.
The air and water is very warm and comfortable.
It is included. Very crowded most enjoyable for kids. Not enough inner tubes for lazy river. And not enough chairs. But you can only have so many I guess? LoL 😃😃
The place is fun for sure, and the on site staff such as housekeepers, technicians, servers, etc ... are super nice and friendly. Upper Management, however, isn't really good.
yes, both indoor waterparks are open, heated and covered during December and January
You can check in at any time, that doesn't mean they're going to give you access to your room. My husband and I have checked in at different times during the day to this particular resort they give you your wrist bands and then you can enjoy the water park, you just may not be able to get in to your hotel room yet.
For the more expensive rooms yes. If not, they still have washer and dryers on certain floors
You won't be disappointed!!!
There are at least 9 pools - some inside, some outside. That includes hot tubs, splash pools, lazy river pools, and regular pools. There are at least 9 pools - some indoors, some outdoors. Not sure but it's not like a new thing its been around longer than five years
I don't recall seeing any guest with pets during my recent stay. I would suggest contacting the front desk at the resort for a more definitive answer
Yes, ours (unit 551) had two nice frying pans, 2 stock pots, a cookie sheet, and a broiling pan. Also service for 6 - plates (small & large)/bowls/mugs/cups (small & large)/wine glasses and flatware. Mixing bowls, pitcher for lemonade, coffee maker, toaster, colander, spatulas, big spoons, dishwasher & dishwasher detergent. But i think it can vary by unit size? You can ask for a particular unit if you make your reservation by phone. Enjoy!
All of the basic stuff is provided. However, the biggest pot they have is 5 quarts, which was not big enough for our seafood broil. If you need something bigger than that you may want to bring your own.
Yes I would bring your own. But they do offer to rent them. But I would think they sell out fast. Plus only can rent til 4
Bring a large towel or robe for thr kids if its going to br chilly. You have to walk outside for a short distance between towers depending on the age range of your kids. Plus, the hotel is an open air hotel. Halleays are not enclosed. One side had waterslides for younger kids. The other is anywhere from 40"or so on up. Two slides per tower. Lazy river, kiddie pool (about 1-6" deep) and hot tub. Other side (bigger waterslides) have two hot tubs, and two pools. Best part about this place is the off season rates they charge. ENJOY!
Technically, no. In practice, yes. Just don't be obvious.
Hope you have a better experience than we had there. An outdated and overcrowded ' resort '
No... It is in North Myrtle. Family friendly and quiet. It's not a long drive to the attractions relatively speaking, but certainly not in close walking distance.
You can get a cabana anytime you want . I have rarely seen them rented out. Most days all or most cabanas are available.
Just left today. Very clean and no bed bugs (I checked first thing). Great service, clean room, housekeeping was great, view was amazing, free parking, breakfast was a bit pricey, towels provided at pool but very worn. Very pleased with stay.
Resort parking garage has trailer parking but not sure how big a trailer is allowed
Yes just need a parking pass to put in garage
