Hi yall, They will give you a vision test at DPS when you go to get your license. It was super easy. Just read an eye chart while standing on a specific spot a few feet away. Wear your glasses if you need them. It takes just a few seconds to complete. Good luck!

You should look into making an appointment online, get there 30 minutes before your appointment & make sure you bring your original or certified copy of your birth certificate, your social security card & proof of residency if your current ID is expired. You can print off & fill out the application ahead of time to save time just make sure you don't sign it. You won't sign it until you get there & the DPS attendant will notarized it.

Try checking for same day appointments at 8am online . They usually open it everyday. September 9 is actually too long. And you can’t drive with the expired license

That gets handled at the Tax Assessor's office in the same building (same office that you get your vehicle registration done.)

They are giving 8 walk in appointments per day now. Be sure to be there really early like 2-3 am to ensure you would get an appointment. If you cannot wait, keep checking the dps website for appointments constantly, and you might get a slot.

In order to get a new license you would have to go online and make an appointment. But when you show up at the office make sure you have three forms of ID. There is a list online that you can pull up that shows you what three forms of ID they will take. Hope that helps.

You have to schedule an appointment on their website and when you go in you check in and they send you up to the second floor. They will take your temperature and then check you in. You can also check in early on your phone so you don't have to wait very long. Hope this helps.

To my knowledge, you'd have to sign documents stating you don't have a registered vehicle to get a license without having the registration. In short, no. Have you tried calling the office? They may accept a photocopy, but I doubt it.

No. We had to have car towed to mechanic. Our insurance paid for the tow. Once repaired and inspection complete, I went to get new sticker to be able to drive it home. Hope this helps!

I had difficulty securing a time online but the trick is smartness. The portal opens 700am and due to population of those trying online inline, the line is full in 5minutes and you cant secure space again. So, log on by 655am and begin the process. By 700 to 705 secure your space.

You can make an appointment.. But it's the same waiting time when you get inside.. See, the are 2 waiting periods, one outside(standing up), and one inside( seating down)..
