Trying in vain to reserve place in line at the Lewisville office since I am not allowed to renew online this time. My license expires in August. Is it better to reserve a place in line early in the month? Can we not renew days in advance ?

I had difficulty securing a time online but the trick is smartness. The portal opens 700am and due to population of those trying online inline, the line is full in 5minutes and you cant secure space again. So, log on by 655am and begin the process. By 700 to 705 secure your space.

Keep trying to get an online slot. Start trying right at the time they open the appointments online and then try again later in the day. Trust me you don't want to just show up and wait in line, it will take up your entire day. Again-try to make your appointments RIGHT when they open the slots online.
