I walked in at apx. 8:10am and was in my vehicle to leave by 1:30pm.

Walked in today about 9:15. Walked out at 1:30. Ridiculous

Try to renew online. If cannot you may need to take your birth certificate or a passport to the office with you. https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/OnlineServices.htm
