My favorite monument in all of Washington DC. With the reflection pool right there, you can feel the history and just take it all in. Get there at reasonable time or there will be crowds of folks there
You can park on street for 2 hours. Or there is free all day parking to the south of the memorial. Also there are 3 to 4 parking lots around. Its easy to find a spot.
Yes, the Memorial is open every day, but the gift shop to the right of Mr Lincoln (as you are looking at him) and separate hall left and beneath him, are open on certain days with limited hours.
Air and Space Museum on the Mall would. But there is another one, an annex right by Dulles Airport that we like even better. Both are not to be missed museums. You can do both in a day if you are extremely ambitious and without little children. But it should be split it into two days to really take in these two museums. There's a lot to see and a lot of info on history of flight, aeronautics, space, wars, commercial aviation and countries in addition to the USA.
Most collectable coins, or planchettes are made of non ferrous metals. Since yours is magnetic and doesn't have both sides stamped, you might search Ebay to see if you can find a similar type souvenirs, and attempt to find it's origin and value.
I'm not sure if this has been asked already. If so, my apologies. But is the monument safe? I just saw a FB post that said it got taken down and/or defaced from the rioters. I can't find any such info that says this actually happened.

It is most definitely safe. There has been no defacing of the Lincoln Memorial as of right now.
The Lincoln Memorial is an American national memorial built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It is located on the western end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., across from the Washington Monument. The architect was Henry Bacon; the designer of the primary statue – Abraham Lincoln, 1920 – was Daniel Chester French; the Lincoln statue was carved by the Piccirilli Brothers;[2] and the painter of the interior murals was Jules Guerin. Dedicated in May 1922, it is one of several memorials built to honor an American president. It has always been a major tourist attraction and since the 1930s has been a symbolic center focused on race relations.
Hmm. Your question is so vague. You can get on top of the steps and get inside to see Lincoln memorial. I don't know if you mean on top of the roof. If you're thinking that then, no you can't.
The Lincoln Memorial was built in 1922 to heal national divisions caused by the Civil War. Yet for many, Lincoln’s promise of freedom remained incomplete. Over the next half century, the looming figure of Abraham Lincoln witnessed a number of events and demonstrations that reinforced the memorial’s importance as a symbolic space for civil rights movements.
I don't really know but the best option to ride in downtown is the DC Circulater which is a free bus and goes all around downtown DC! Also you can use Lyft or Uber (Lyft is usually cheaper than Uber).
I think the ark is Lincoln memorial the ark and the covenant along with the legislators congress contract and agreements with the union and it jurisprudence

Ground was broken in 1914 but was not completed until 1922 due to WWI. Architect Daniel French oversaw the build and the Piccirilli Brothers oversaw the murals that were painted inside the monument. Presently, the Lincoln memorial is under renovation
My teacher wants me to have 3 facts about Lincoln Memorial what are they??

Wow, really..:-)..Well then
Fact one it has a Lincoln figure.
Fact two it's big.. And, Finally, fact 3, you need to apply and learn by reading instead of looking for the quick answers :-P
Free, I went on a 6 hr tour coordinated by the Hotel I stayed in. We hit all the memorials, a boat ride and lunch included for about 75 bucks. All the Memorials and 19 Museums are FREE.
As you face the steps, in the ground level on the left side there us a door. This leads into the exhibition area. I spent 20 minutes reading the walls arounf the statue and another 30 or so in the exhibition area. Definitely worth reading as well as seeing
From an Irish perspective Lincoln was a great president who did many great things for all of his people no matter race or creed, the vastness of the statue symbolises the stature of the man's ideology
It will be difficult if you don't want people in the background, but if you dont mind people then sure! We werw there around 11 on a clear day in december and light was good, not putting us in shadow.
I heard someone spoiled that memorial, any information?

A tourist carved a couple of words into some pillars with a penny. Nothing to spoil the memorial itself
Why are their 12 columns on the Lincoln memorial
Karen Hall | Sep 26, 2018
Sage Russell | Sep 26, 2018
There are 36 exterior columns in total and these represent the number of states in the Union that existed at the time of Lincoln's death.
The 12 interior columns have no specific meaning and are not symbolic in nature.
is there parking space ?
