Tours here are free of cost, but need to be requested via email. Our tour guide was awesome. We were shown several historical exhibits on two floors and 2 meeting rooms, both of them impressive. The gardens outside also have things to see - statutes, inscribed benches. I recommend this 90 minute tour, especially if you appreciate the work of voluntary medical corps. 2 thumbs up

Friendly staff. Timely appointment. That said, I am confused as to why they do not provide 6' distancing for appointments, even in the few rooms which have seating & space options to do so during this ongoing pandemic. Especially during the time of omicron, after the delta variant, I was disappointed to hear that the situation has been the same throughout the pandemic. The American Red Cross no doubt has multiple spaces which could be repurposed instead of using small offices where the person is requested to sit very close to them even though they are simply answering questions which can be provided from 6' away. When a donor does not known how long the technician will be within close proximity for an hour+ procedure with advanced set-up time, it creates an uncomfortable dynamic for both parties.

You want me to give. Well they say you shall give to receive. For 45 years and it hasn’t happened. So here goes and I’m not going to stop. And this is just the beginning. I’m putting it everywhere. However, I own and produce something the world and healthcare industry has begged for since December 2019. So for a fair trade I’m willing to do so. Free? Absolutely not, I have had to pay to live, survive and I can save a lot of people and the Government can afford to extend a hand to us that hold a key in saving thousands if not millions. I want a place to finally call home and that’s not asking much. I will be putting this everywhere and I’m asking all of you Type O- blood 🩸 to stand up and do the same. They need us!!!

Well my Chapter told me that all of the positions has been filled. Today I received an e-mail HQ asking me do I want to deploy, I e -mail them back Yes I do.
I am a Volunteer for the American Red Cross, but not a nurse. The headquarters in is Washington DC, but there are chapters all around the country.
If you are trying to donate blood, you need to enter the building on the E St. side of the block. The headquarters building on 17th St. is primarily business offices and the open hours shown are standard private business hours. There are tours of the building, but you'll need to check with security about available times.
I really do not know. You will have to call them to make sure.
This specific building are the headquarters of the Red Cross. Contact your local Red Cross to get involved with their outreach to the homeless community.
