The Grand Floridian opened in 1988.. its modeled after various resorts around the world and on the East Coast of Florida. But, most people would agree its very much like the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego.

The house is up now, along with poinsettias. See my photos from Monday. Don't know if there is more to come closer to Thanksgiving.

Disney springs is great for shopping and has some great restaurants. There are also some great spots to find some sweets or snacks. If you're looking for more then that, it's not the place for you.

Because it is and the employees work all night and not many people are awake then so they can run on a skeleton crew while they sort things for the morning.

Disney no longer offers flights as a package component. For packages Visit the Disney website or if you need help, do a Google search for an Orlando travel agent.

You can visit the Grand Floridian for free. After that, things get kind of iffy. You can really only visit a pool if you have a keycard, but it's easy to just slip in when someone is leaving. The elevator, you can go there, but they don't really want people traipsing around near $650 rooms if they aren't staying there. If you are visiting family, though, you can visit them as long as you don't stay in that room.

About 20 minutes, but if you are taking a Disney bus leave yourself about 45-60 for total travel time (waiting for bus then actual Ride time).

Scooters can either be rented onsite or you can arrange for one to be delivered to the hotel for you by contacting Disney prior to your arrival. Never saw,an electric wheelchair there but you can call and ask.

Technically this hotel is not in the Magic Kingdom park. It is on Disney property next to the park with a connection by boat and monorail. Several buildings at the hotel have rooms with views of Cinderella's castle.

No, however technically you need to be staying there or a reservation at a dining location at the GF to park there. If you explain to the guard your intentions, they might let you in. When you get to the main parking structure (where you'd normally pay to park), let them know your headed to the GF.
