Beautiful place , have to have appointment .

Really good place

I do not agree to charge an entrance (quite expensive moreover) while this type of site exists almost everywhere in Florida

Incredible adventure! The under water cavern is great to snorkel in! Beautiful water! But it’s cold wear a wet suit
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Yes it is
$ 15 per person, and $ 10 mask and clapper rental. The place is fantastic. I do not remember seeing an area for Camping, if I saw an area for RV.
It's a constant 72. It will feel a little cold, I'd recommend a wet suit.
Yes you can there is two different areas for camping.
It's $5 To get in. That $5 limits you to simply walk around the area and does not allow you to do much more, but you can see the spring from on top of the sinkhole . In order to access the spring you'll either have to snorkel or scuba dive.
Yes , you have to pay. And is about $ 30 per perzon between admission and gear. No childs under 6 year are allowed
Nope. You can swim right next to the divers, though I could reach the bottom (ears hurt near 12 feet! so I'm not much of a free diver😂) you're not supposed to touch the sides or take any rocks anyway and it's perfectly clear so you can see the bottom great from the surface snorkeling. It's super cool!! We rented mask, snorkels & wetsuits (most people didn't bother with wetsuits, but it is 72° and we're Floridian Natives;)
Thx. I didn't realize Rainbow Springs and Devil Den were the same.
You can snorkel! Just make sure you have reservation. Have fun!
You have to make a reservation on line
Yes
The cavern is pretty deep, however, the explorable areas are up to 60' down. They have the rest of the caves blocked off due to instability and hazards. The caves are amazing to scuba though. There are many Blue Gills, turtles, and if you are lucky see some massive catfish down there. Two friends and I spent 2 hours easily exploring.
Yes you have to be doing one or the other, but to be totally fair about it....youbwouod want to as well. It's not a huge place and only so much room.
They let us check in right away we got there around 1. We stayed in the cabins.
I'd call because I don't see them answering questions posted on Google. They certainly have the space to accommodate. There's also a botanical garden right next door which may also accommodate.
Swim, snorkel or dive any of them, it's 54 feet at the deepest point, the main area people swim in it's 10-15' deep, it's 72 degrees year round
All information is listed about not only dive prices but lodging and facilities as well at their website link as you scroll under in the Google ad
Six years old or older and a good swimmer.
They aren't too busy at the moment but its always wise to plan ahead and make reservations early :) Enjoy, its beautiful ***
Entrance to the Den is $15. Parking fee is $0. Entrance to the park to walk around is a $5
We stayed in the Cabins over the 4th of July weekend. No face mask at that time required, groups of 10 or less and social distance 6 feet from other groups. It still was a Blast, everyone was very respectful of others spaces. We cant wait to go back as our son is only 5 yrs old. You MUST BE 7 OR OLDER TO VISIT DOWN IN DEN FOR SNORKELING OR DIVING ONLY By Appt. Make sure you book your snorkel or dive slot in advance knowing the day will be visiting.
Don't know for sure but I would guess it would be.
No.. But check out Rainbow Springs about 30 min away
Ummmm... yea that's false...minimum age for kids is 6.
I was just there on Saturday all you have to do is just show up before 5pm. I got there around 1:30pm and that was plenty of time to walk around and chill with the devil in his den lol! Oh fyi the water's cold. 72° is pretty cold but you get used to it quick
We were charged $60 for 2 people to camp this past weekend. Maybe the prices went up.
Yes they have a pool on the other side of the park grounds
e
Pets in RV camping area is allowed.
Do you have to have a certificate to prove that you can dive? Because the truth is I can but there is nothing to prove it 🤷♀️
Anja
Theres a turtle named freddy and lots of fish that will swim around with you. Very safe and lots of fun.
The park is protected so you cannot fish inside the park. There are other places close to 😈 Den, like lakes and rivers outside the park where you can.
Yes very nice new all aluminum deck n stairs very nice
Same here wouldn't be surprised if they do, if not they should.
Certification required, but there are classes (and snorkeling gear) available on-site.
She will need a slip. Im pretty sure but your perants might be able do it for her i would call there office
You don't need to scuba gear to enjoy the cave springs. You can use a normal snorkel and fins. You can bring your own, or rent any gear there. You can definitely hang out there for a picnic (some picnic tables available too). It can get busy at times, so go early in the morning or on weekdays. It cost about $35 per head I believe, but that could vary on their prices. They do have a website you could check to see special pricing or holiday hours.
$40 to dive. Yes, you can hire a guide.
Current prices for activities and equipment rentals are clearly listed on their website.
Like others said, they have a gate that closes at 5pm. Don't bother to call, they don't answer the phone.
Yes there is walk through for a fee but to swim you need a reservation.
I would recommend putting them in a life vest. It’s deep and there’s no place to stand in the water (except the landing where you enter) and the water is cold.
No you can't fly a drone, they have a sign indicating no drones
I remember the entrance is clear path up to reservation area. Many stairs leading down to the springs. Best if you check there website or even try calling them.
We went when it was raining but like stated above if there is lightning within 10 or 15 miles you can't be in the water
You can dive in rain just not lightning
Older lady said we had to pay 5 dollars per person to do anything.
Yes
Yes you can bring your dog 🐕 but the dog can not go in the water it's not allowed I'm sorry
They preserve it well.
Yes, but you need to go online to the website and make reservations, no walk ins allowed
Yes.
Absolutely not. It is not connected to any running water. Entrance is a staircase similar to many caves.
Hello, you can pay on arrival. It has to be reserved online since only those who have a reservation are allowed to enter. Time inside the den is only 90 minutes. The rest of the garden is open to the public.
No
You need to go into the devils den website and set an appointment online. The appointment page will ask you what time would you be going and what date. And that is it. Once you get to the park, you need to go in the offive and they will jave your name in a paper. They will give you a wristband with the time you are supposed to go in into the den. They only letting people in for 1.5 hours. Hope that helps.
Not for swimming but you can walk around the park. It was scenic. My husband and I enjoyed a sunset walk.
No there is no where to jump into the water due to the fact there are always many people in the water and it would create an unsafe atmosphere
Kids are allowed but they have to be able to swim and be with an adult
We have lodging on our property! We have cabins available to rent, tent camping, and RV spots! :)
Sign at the entrance says no pets allowed.
You could conceivably swim around but the expectation is that you snorkel or scuba dive. Reservations are required and I believe admission is $20 a person, so it's an expensive swim.
If you meant McDonald's, yes there is...
Yes, you can. But, older kids. Not toddlers. Make sure you do the reservation for each person. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip.
We went on weekend it was $22 to snorkel with our own mask and fins had a great time
Yes
Yeah you can pitch a tent but don't forget it's 100+ degrees an the mosquitoes have a 4 ft wing span so good luck!!😅
Yes. You can free dive. It's the same as a snorkel admission.
Yes
Yes...but you can only snorkel or scuba dive...very expensive to do either there..
Nice, relaxing, safe, pretty and a little different...
I don't think they will let you in to do that, but you can call and ask. No one was allowed to show up and even walk around without a reservation.
I don't know but there is a website with all kinds of i fo...google DEVIL'S DEN IN FLORIDA
20 dollars it includes flippers goggles and a snorker i dont know scuba diving gear cost
Diving with your gear is 38 without and renting it is 40... Snorkeling Monday to Friday. 15/ person Saturday and Sunday 20 They have gear to rent for extra.
Yes, they offer military discount. Not sure about the age restriction though.
When I was there I seen family's walk around they have a excellent pancake house for breakfast which there is a2to 3h wait
We do not have any laundry facilities on the property. There are several laundromats in town. About a mile away.
Yes. We stayed in the RV park so we hot bands that allow us to walk around with no extra coat but it's cost extra to swim in the den.
Yes
It's 72° year round water temperature. If you're asking what the temperature is weather wise, I would suggest checking the local weather.
Visit Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens right up the road from Devil's Den. They recently had some flooding so I would call first. I believe they're still open though but some parts may be closed due to the water level.
No, but you can reduce the cost by bringing your own fins, snorkel and mask. These items are required for entry.
No lockers. Keep items locked in your car. You can leave towels, shoes, clothes on a picnic table though. They will hold your keys for you behind the desk.
No, it is not possible.
6 and older to go inside the cave.
They do have cabins. The prices are listed on their website. I've never rented one.
You need to be certified for scuba. I explored almost everything and I think the deepest was 50 ish.
Water in devil's den is natural spring water that comes from underground. I was there in July, no issues.
No, they have everything fairly simple just a fix amount of spots for camping and some day visitors
They don't allow any floatation devices at all. The water is very cold, and you need to be a competent swimmer to overcome the shock of getting in.
10$ for admission and 15$ for snorkeling rental. Snorkeling is a must to get in tho you can bring your own
I heard the older guy yelling. They own the place
It was very busy when I was there this time 6-22-19. They might do that at a slower time seasonally, however, I bet it would be expensive. I have been there before years ago and was not as busy then, It was Jan./Feb
I expect it would be expensive. It's set up to accommodate a lot of people
Not sure. Probably call to verify
Call them since they would know best.
For snorkeling: Mon-fri: $15/Person Sat, sun, holidays : $20/person (Doesn't include mask, snorkel, and fins, which are required) Snorkel equipment rental: $10 every day; includes mask, snorkel, and fins www.devilsden.com/snorkeling.html
Monday thru thurs 9a to 5p. Fri thru sun 8a to 5p. Word of advice if ur snorkeling only best to bring ur own mask flippers an snorkel. If u have to rent gear u only get 2 hours in the cave. An try to arrive 1st thing bc they fill quickly an once they reach capacity they will turn u away. It was a really fun place though 😁
There are no lifeguards and it's plenty deep enough for you to lose track of your child, and there's no "safe" pool
No kayaking at devil's den, there are other places around for that
Call them
You don't have to be a scuba diver, snorkeling works and you can go with a buddy
$15 on weekdays, 20 on weekends plus mandatory snorkel gear rental of $10. Way overpriced
All day
15 per person. Just went last week. Stayed in their RV park. We snorkled for about an hour. Grounds are very nice. We had our own gear. It was a weekday and early in the day so it wasnt busy at all.
My suggestion to you would be to get in contact with a local SCUBA shop and inquire with them. My Certification took more than a single day. Hopefully that helps.
I believe it is $38 to dive if you have your own gear. Snorkeling is $15. There is tent and RV camping available onsite. Prices are listed on their website. Enjoy.
Closing at 5pm
Do not waste your time going there. Not worth it. One night in a cabin worth $ 112.50 does not include the pool or the spring.
Super deep, it is very impressive! when you leave the platform and look all the way down you feel like falling from a building.
Weekdays are best. They say on their website that scuba divers will never be turned away, but that snorkelers may have a wait. In my two visits, a weekday arrival at opening time I was the only one there and a weekend where I showed up 2 hours after they opened it was very busy on the grounds and with snorkelers at the surface, but my buddy and I were the only divers below 30 ft depth. We had the lower cavern and swim throughs all to ourselves.
They did not let us go see inside..only from on top (which tbere is not much to see) and they charged us $5.00/person total rip off.
yeah I would agree with the last two posts they could go and look at the boardwalk which you're not going to see much and yeah for going up and down the stairs the stairs a real narrow real long and there's a low hanging Rock area that they would have to duck under so I would say unless they're in really good shape and they intend on going snorkeling it's probably not the best place to visit
All you can do is pay and hope for the best
Showers and changing room are in the bathroom. Its fresh water though so you might not feel the need.
2h aprox
I believe they can give you a resort course there. But I just used snorkeling equipment.its a small area that can easily be seen from above.. There is a cave below but it is dangerous and no one should dive in it.
Mainly Yolk, was told they have a few Din tanks available though.
You can book by phone
We bring out own gear to snorkel and have never needed a reservation I would say call if you plan to scuba dive, but generally if they're busy you get like 2-3 hours in the spring and you can walk the grounds. They're is also a pool
Natural formation.. wasn't man made.. research formation of fresh water springs in Florida 😊😊
Hello, i second that recommendation, you might be okay snorkeling there, but it would best for your doctor to advise you on it.
You have to be over 6 years old to enter Devil's Dent.
No its only scuba diving/ snorkeling
Great
They also update their facebook page every day with adverse weather conditions if applicable...
No it is not
Platform is 5 feet under water when I went last weekend. Visibility was about 25 feet.
As stated by their website, certified divers are guaranteed admission thus, reservations are irrelevant. There is however a separate procedure for instructors and students.
I'm 6'8" and had no issues getting down to the platform. Had to duck down a bit on the stairs. I brought my own snorkeling gear so you may want to call ahead about sizing.
Yes. There are camp sites available but the entrance fee to the Devil Den is separate.
Avoid the weekends try Monday to Wednesday
Its $20 per person and then $10 if you want snorkel gear. The rates are on their website as they are different on thw week as opposed to the weekend.
I'd advise some lessons before attempting. The area past the platform is quite deep and unless you are proficient at breathing water it might be hazardous for one's health.
I paid $26.75, between the entrance and the rent of the snorkeling equipment. / $150 for bucear (diving)
I'm not sure. Did see children that were not teens snorkeling tho. Go to the website, it will answer most of your questions. Olso has a phone # you can call for questions.
You can make reservations for camping but not snorkeling time.
I believe it was $18 a person. But if you don't have a mask Fin and snorkel they charge you for that because they require you to have it. It's just a way for them to make more money
Kind of. You can walk the park which has a lot of ponds etc.and there is an overlook spot to look down in the cave from above. But no one is supposed to walk down without snorkel or scuba gear. Its just a straight flight of stairs down the water. No where to walk down there.
Yes, no problem debit cards. Yo can pay cash, credit and debit..
It was about 17$ per person with your own gear and 28$ per if you needed to rent. Oh and heads up, kids under 6 aren't allowed downstairs so someone will have to stay with them.
Depending on what you're doing snorkeling is $20.00 Scuba Diving you must show your divers certification than depends on if you're renting or bringing your own gear
I only paid for my gear. I didn't see any other charge whatsoever. My gear was $30. My daughter also.
Not a big variety. Just snall tribkets, keychains, t-shirts.. etc. 😊
The earlier you get there the more time you have to enjoy. They are always steady, ive never seen anyone turned away
Yes
$26.00 for admission and snorkeling. Scuba is more.
I have T-Mobile and had no issues there.
I don't think so
Not sure about discounts. Children need adult supervision. And need to be good swimmers. There is no shallow end.
It is great to visit. Not only for divers but also for people just looking to swim and snorkel. It is a beautiful location
50ish feet.....the signs and bars that you cannot go passed are around 53ft i think.
Yes you can and I think 2 hours is more than enough... It's not much to see there...
To get in and rent their gear it cost each person in our prty $26.75. Totally worth it. Its amazing! I felt amazing after. Clean and refreshed!
Hi Randiel! Devil's Den is open 364 days a year! We are only closed on Christmas Day.
Yes they also have cabins.
Yes there is a sign at the front desk that mentions a military discount. Idk what the discount is however. There is still an admission fee. Total with snorkel gear and admission for me was $32. With your own gear should be $20.
Big pan fish, turtles, if you look in the caves there are many large catfish, i even saw a rather large albino catfish. Some bass also. A fun dive. Hope you enjoy your time there. I enjoy it eveytime i dive there.
It has the same amenities as most campgrounds and you can build a fire.
$18 if you bring your own gear, but $28 if you don't have any snorkeling gear.
There are no alligators in the actual Devil's Den spring that you swim in, just fish and turtles. There are other springs and Aquatic locations around the Ocala area that do have alligators but they are marked off. Juniper Springs, another beautiful spring in the area has alligators in one part but not the other. And Blue Spring State Park in Deltona which has manatees in it, also has alligators as well but they don't bother any of the swimmers. And the water in all of these Springs are fresh water.
To snorkel, no. If you want to dive yiu should be able to pull yiur certs up online
We were there a couple of months ago...If you are not going to dive or snorkel don't waste your money...place is overgrown...no water in the man made ponds and streams...can't go down into spring only watch from a small opening if you are not divong
Scuba divers need lights as they swim under the rock shelves and around lRge debris in the sink hole. Snorkling doesn't as there natural light in the center which is ipen to the sky and additional lighting around the periphery. The water is very clear so snorkling diving down 15 plus feet is fine without any lights.
It depends on what you want to do. If you want to do the scuba diving i think the latest is around 1-3 PM
How are we able to get air tanks and how much would it cost for three peaple?
I dont know if there is an age limit as long as the kid can swim. All swimmers also need to wear snorkels and fins so the kid has to be comfortable swimming with them. There is no "shallow " end so the child needs to be able to swim or float pretty well. You might want to check the website for other requirements
15.00 per person also Google it and it has a website with all the pricing as well well worth it.
You can get the 38$s waived if you are a currently valid dive instructor with insurance.
Nothing. If it's raining then it's fine. They have everything. If it thunderstorm then everything is closed
They also sell snorkle kits in the office, if you want to keep it. The pricing for snorkle kits is a few dollars more than from Amazon
About 10 bucks for access and 12 bucks for equipment rental. If they are busy they rent u the stuff for 2 hrs only. If u bring urs u spare money and get to stay as much as u want - although 2 hrs should be enough. A companion that will not use the den pays 5 bucks
No. Divers have priority and there is never a wait for them. There is plenty of room underwater.
Understandable. But not possible as we will be coming from near pensacola. Will just have to wait and see I guess. Thanks all
No, you cant
Not sure about snorkeling but I think they never turn away scuba divers.
5390 ne 180 ave, williston, florida Max deth 15 m 3.5 mm wet suit 1h dive i was ok but 5 mm will be more suited. Call dayo and ask for tim
Their price is in their website.
I would call and ask, Ginnie does not allow any under 12
To enter is about 25 and snorkeling is extra but I don't know how much. But not too much. About 15-20
If you are a beginner it 150 with the training and 2 hour guided tour, 1 hour in the pool training, and 1 hour in the den. If you have your license, then its around 80 for rental and entry fee. If you are licensed and have your equipment, then its only 40 for the entry fee.
No, but you can find wood around the property. There are also roadside stands that have wood.
Many thanks Brian Turner I will! 😉
Yes, its spring fed so the water is always 72 degress. It is best to go in the spring or summer so when you get out youre bor freezing. If you go in the winter, you better have a fire close by to warm up.
Yes you would have to clear with on site personal.
You've got your answer that's it those guys have been there
Seriously? It's in Williston Florida, United States of America, Earth. How did you even get to the spot to ASK this question without seeing the address or link to the map?
The water in the underground river is a constant 72 °F (22 °C) degrees. In cold weather water vapor rising from the surface of the river forms a visible plume above the entrance to the cave, which suggested a chimney from Hell to early settlers.
They will not allow you to just walk down and view the cave. You must be able to swim. I tried to come just to take pictures and was turned away. Even offered to pay snorkle price.
Its is very small. About half the size of a normal pool and there are sooo many ruls to follow
Check the website but even then, call and get all the details. This place isn't worth the drive, there are way nicer and cooler springs.
Yes you can, the campground isn't too big, but just outside of it is a botanical garden and 53 acres of explorable area.
238 miles
I went in Dec last year, and it was warm enough to snorkel without a wetsuit. People were in there doing exactly that. I was there to dive, but it was well warm enough to swim in
I've seen children, (under 18) when i was there, but i would assume that they require supervision/accompaniment by an adult. Best to call them to verify though to avoid conflict.
We did, but we were a sizeable group and in highly recommend so if you are a group. If it's just you, probably not. Bit arriving early and calling and checking to see of they are booked up beforehand are good trip planning ideas
i feel anytime also can, because there look like no much people
If you bring your own snorkel equipment then you only have to pay for admission. Admission $15 p/p Admission on weekends and holidays is $20 p/p
Sat. 8am-5pm
u can log in to the website all cost show there
Check out their website, it has the current rates & you can book on it. Plus, I think they are doing some renovations right now & all that info with dates is on their website.
Weekends are usually busy, there's a good chance you'll find someone to drive with. I'd chance it and go, get there early.
The pool.. Not the cavern
Weekdays is $15 per person. Weekends is $20. Nothing much really i mean its just a cave. The water is superrr cold. In the water theres lil fishes theres turtles and everything is real cool . U shud really go.
I dont think anything have happend there.. i was there before hurricane.. its really beautiful cave.. please call them.. before you make plans.. to visit..
Check website
