Very well laid out. Easy drop off and pick. Lots of parking. 2 cell phone lots, one has gas, 7-11 and Duncan Donut's. Shuttle for rental cars and to most hotels and resorts. Airport is almost in the heart of Ft. Myers. Looking to add more runways and plenty of room for growth.

Love the airport, just not happy with American airlines at the moment.

A very nice and convenient airport
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
The airport is open. I am there 9/13 @ 10:00am. Flights are arriving and departing, although some flights have been cancelled. Check with your airline to be sure.
It never closes.
My mom is down there and she said she was told around 3pm today the last flight departs tomorrow at 2:44pm and all people need to check in at least 3 hours early.
No
I believe not
It depends on your airline, like if they’re flying Southwest you could get a pass to go through security with them.
What's the problem with Fort Myers. How far do you have to drive to get to Orlando
Short term parking in the garage makes the easiest solution. It's not taut expensive for just an hour per less. Our son parks here and meets us in Baggage Claim when we visit. (You can't go to the gate without a boarding pass anymore.)
No, Page Field is actually the original airport that serviced the Fort Myers area before RSW. You have many rental car company options at RSW. Can find them in building right across from terminal on bottom floor. Vehicles also located there so you do not have to shuttle to pick one up. So if coming into RSW, do not use Page Field as rental pickup location. Use RSW which is code for Southwest Florida International Airport.
Chances are increasingly likely.
Yes, the airport is always open. Most shops close at night and TSA security checkpoint hours vary.

There are no vaccination requirements for domestic air travel in the United States. However, there is a mask mandate while inside the airport terminal and on all flights: Federal law now requires wearing a mask at all times while in the airport. Failure to comply may result in removal and denial of re-entry. Refusing to wear a mask while in the airport is a violation of federal law and individuals may be subject to penalties under federal law. For international travel, please check with your destination airport and country.
Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is open 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, 365-days a year. The security checkpoints for the concourses open approximately two-hours prior to the first flight in the morning. They close approximately one-hour after the arrival of the last flight of the day. Flight times vary each day.
Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is always seeking new air service opportunities. However, due to current travel restrictions, this does not seem likely anytime in the near future.
Not really. I usually do a smidge over an hour and never had a problem.
Nope. The real question is what is Tennessee going to do on your return flight.
No clue

You could pass through the security checkpoint with an empty water bottle and refill it once you are through security.

As far as carry on, I doubt it. TSA will take any drink from you that's not under 3 oz at security. Your oranges should be fine, I've brought unopened snacks through TSA before. I believe you can bring beverages in checked bags, but as far as carry on goes, it's a no go.
They have to be able to open your luggage so you can't even lock them.
I suggest Expedia to find the cheapest/most convienant travel plans for you. Expedia searches many airlines for the best deals.
As far as I'm aware, you can apply for TSA PreCheck on the TSA's website
I recommend downloading the UBER app and requesting a ride to Ft. Myers Beach through them. You can request a larger vehicle depending on how many people/luggage you have. The fare shouldn't be expensive, RSW is relatively close to Ft. Myers Beach.

Florida Sunshine Express....but you have to call them a few days ahead of your trip...
Im sure the airport would help out....is there anyway you can contact the airport?
Yes
$11/day....not really that bad...but higher than other airports
Not the airport, you have to check with individual airlines. And those prices can change from day to day. You don't book the flights with the airport.
Call an Uber, it's cheaper. Yes is a 7 eleven gas station less than a mile from the airport. There is no shuttle.
He can. Would not be my choice given the traffic that can be present at the airport.
You can take it up to passport control
Yes, they are the same airport.
The airport will NOT kick you out and it is open 24 hours.
This is a function of the airlines. Not the airport. Check Google Flights, Orbitz, Expedia, etc for flight information.
You can check their website or simply Google the answer.
No only from Dusseldorf Germany
As long as its legible. If not, an airline agent can print one for you at the counter.
I do not believe that any do so direct. Best to check out Google Flights, Orbitz, Expedia, etc to verify. This will also let you select the option that minimizes your travel time.

There's no set time. You may want to follow up routinely with them, especially during the holidays.
No. You have to have a boarding pass and proper id to get through security. Each individual airline has their own rules and regulations for unaccompanied minors flying. There are age limitations and typically an airline representative will escort them from the ticket counter. Consult your airline for more information.

Starting May 1st, 2018 Eurowings will fly directly from RSW to Munich, Germany. Air Berlin recently went bankrupt and suspended all flights, including those at RSW, so unfortunately you will have to wait until May of 2018.
This is an international airport, but you'll have to research individual airlines.

Straight from the FAA "Electronic cigarettes, vaping devices. These devices are battery powered and have a heating element that vaporizes liquid (that may or may not contain nicotine). These devices are prohibited in checked baggage and may only be carried in the aircraft cabin (in carry-on baggage or on your person."
Outside bag check is dependent on the airline. Please check with your airline.

Yes it is
2 hours is what most airports ask for. I do know RSW wishes for 2 hours. If an emergency comes up, they are understanding. My car broke down a month ago and i called them to inform i was on my way with another vehicle and they expedited me through security so I could make the plane. RSW is probably the best airport I've been to.

No, they're closing tomorrow afternoon. Not sure for how long, probably at least until Monday
It's very important you check with your airline as flight schedules may change.
The airport never closes. However, it is very important that you call your airline as only they can tell you whether they will be bringing flights in to Fort Myers.
You need to call the airline
Check with your airline.
Too early to tell, but it is possible.
No bridge closings at this time.
Yes. There are several rental car companies at the terminal. Call your airline to arrange for a wheelchair pickup at the curb, departure level and then proceed into the garage on the left at the end of the arrivals curb garage entrance # 7. Go to the ground floor of the garage and the rental car building is right there.
Look it up.
There hasn't been any flight cancellations.
