This is honestly one of my favorite state parks in Michigan. It's densely wooded and offers many different trails to venture down. The trail markers are easy to follow and if you go there under the right conditions you're bound to see plenty of wildlife. Our state offers tons of places like this that are worth checking out, but don't come up in conversations as often. Once I hiked through Proud Lake that first time I knew it would be a place I would return to time and again.

Love this place. They are the host of a wonderful yoga festival the first weekend in August. I go every year. This state recreation area makes great place for yoga in the forest. There are so many hiking trails and the swimming at the kayak portage is easily accessible.

Beautiful lake with access right at the park. There's kayaks and canoes for rent, and a campers only beach. The park was extremely congested, so I didn't get any pictures. The campsites are close to each other, our neighbors fire pit was right outside our window. There's nice walking trails and clean bathrooms/showers. Overall, it's a decent park with an abundance of nature.

Love this place. After 4 years i finally got my favorite site (24). Clean restrooms and quiet. Absolutely nothing to complain about

Yes, in mostly all places around proud lake. I believe they have to at least be on a 6ft leash. But allowed in the water in the river part for sure
they have tent camping please visit the web amd you can see which sites and dates. usually about $20 a nt at the modern campground.
No. I ride my bike into the park as I live 2 miles away.
Yes- best spot is at the dam by Riverhawk Lodge in the Huron River. Proud lake has a mucky bottom- there is a beach in the campground if you are staying there
I believe that is a no. You can call the park office to confirm during the week.
Not sure, but when I was thete last week a lot of people we're catching fish.
If you take the East entrance off of Bass Lake road, and follow the "road" until it dead ends, you'll be at the boat ramp.
I was allowed two tents 6 people and two vehicles on site
Yes in specified areas, however the deer are very scarce during hunting season,
I would imagine, it's not private, it's state land and a park, however I would think they would prohibit businesses from harvesting for profit. If your planning on something larger scale you may want to check with them personally first. I do not have the authority to authorize anything.
Really nice to continue past the Wixom road bridge and enter Kensington park. The river at that point is terrific and very scenic.Extreamly recommend houng at least that far. Won't disappoint
May want to refer to the lake charts for depths of your boat had any draft.
Yes
They have a location on garden road near proud lake park
Yes

Yes
Yes..don't believe it's open till the 16th
No to many people moved into the area and complained so they shut it down about 40 years ago. Both Island Lake and Pontiac Lake Recreation Areas have ranges. Multi Lakes Conservation Association has ranges nearby.
Yes they are! The trails are full of great adventure opportunities for your dogs. 6 foot leash Bring a bag or two for their business please!
No hiking trails no motor vehicles only boat launch
Not at the campground. It's all grass. There may be a small strip about 1 ft wide. Dont know if there is an actual beach area in the park.
3:00pm
There is a company Heavners that rents out kayaks and canoes.
Yes, on the west side of the park near the picnic shelter and camper cabins
From what I understand none of them are pull through
Swim yes. I wouldn't recommend drinking the water
A few shallow spots to wade. I would not drink the water.
Not really. They do have some no RV sites but it's far from primitive camping. Every campsite has a fire pit and picnic table.

Right next door to Proud Lake is Kensington Metro Park. They have an 8 mile paved loop.
Proud lake does have an open hunting area rather large, although they recently reduced it slightly.the wildlife biodeversoty of the area is strong, with a pack of coyote. They were about 15 years ago, overpopulated however with the rebound of predators and other natural fixes, I would feel comfortable hunting, but as always have your meat properly field cleaned and then either self test or take it in to have it tested and frozen immediately. This goes for all deer in the upper mid US. I fish there and have never had a problem with fish since 1974. I advise all outdoorsmen to learn how to test food to see if it is safe. They have an overabundance of good self use kits. They this option and always donate any meat you do not use.
The campground closes sometime in November and opens in April
It's never been an issue. Not sure where these no alcohol answers are coming from.
Heavner canoe rental operates a rental within campsite. They also provide livery services for one way trips. They allow pets in their canoes.
On glengarry rd
If you want the best midnight fishing in the park you walk the trail from the campground past the trail head and down the road where it ends there is a nice opening to a bridge with a portage canoe and a dam on the other side. It is quite a hike to get to a spot where you can see the campground beyond the lake.
They like to have you check out by 2 o'clock But if there are open sights and they really don't care if you stay a little bit longer the main thing is if you leave it nice and clean for the next people that usually don't have any problems with the is a great place to go camping it's open year round at the got water Scott a haunting area it's got you know streams lakes and just about everything you can want and they put new outhouses in lake campground so they're real nice
It depends on what you want they have group cabins that can hold over twenty and they have cabins at family camp best to go on web site
Pets are not allowed in cabins . Check the Web site
Yes!! Very nice private showers with sink and toilet. New. I think only 4yrs old
Make sure you have good tent stakes, the wind can get kinda crazy in the campgrounds. Also, make sure you take time to embrace the water activities they offer, there's a lot of beauty that can only be seen by the water
