Fun way to spend the day. Enjoyed all the rides and park was well maintained. Train was very neat and the shows that we caught were really fun (clogger show & magic show). Our kids loved feeding the animals too! It was only $0.50 for a cone full of food.

Great amusement park! Could be better if all rides were up and running. The shows were limited also. Shortage in staff limited many of the rides and there were hardly any people in the park, maybe 100. Some stores were closed. This is understandable in today's times of chaos but the ticket prices should be reduced significantly! 1 adult and 3 children cost $175. Food was expensive. 3 dipndot small size ice creams were almost $7 for the same size you get in grocery store for $1.50. The park hours should be extended in summer. At least to 7 or 8pm. Also consider free day passes for rain days. The rain delayed us from doing everything in the park. Most of the employees are very young and most were nice but a few were not nice. The arcade costs extra money. It was chilly riding on the train through the mountain after it had rained. Might want a windbreaker if rain is in forecast. Today was a weekday so maybe it's better in ways on the weekend. We did not have to wait long for the rides. The 2nd main ride my grandson came from SC to ride were the airplanes but they were not open. We did love the fact that an employee could ride with your group if the kids outnumbered adults for the bumper car race. Kids younger than 7 cannot ride the skylift without an adult. The mickey mouse train ride was super cute inside the tunnel.

Came here in August 2021. Went here as a kid and was excited to return as an adult to bring my kids. It was a great time, but I was disappointed about the train ride and the shootout that they used to do on board. The show now isn't bad but it's not as good as it was 20+ years ago. Still definitely worth the trip and they kids will love it.

Mini Dollywood 🎠 Great little theme park near Boone, NC. Would recommend for kiddos aged 2 to maybe 10, after that they’re going to think it’s too “kiddie” for them. We went for the Day Out with Thomas and my 7 year old still loved it, left the 12 year old at a friends house. You can do everything in about 4-6 hours and the mix of rides and activities are well thought out. They let you bring your own food in which is great since my little guy has a ton of food allergies. Will definitely go back next year for a visit.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Dont think it closes but some of the rides might. I would call to be sure.
Not typically. The prices are the same unless you visit during a special event (Ghost Train for Halloween and Santa Train during Christmas). If you visit on a regular day you can expect the same price everyday. The park is closed now through April (I think). They close down entirely for the winter months and reopen for spring. I urge you to check out their website and Facebook page, both are very informative. Their website always has an event calendar for each season detailing special upcoming events and prices. My family loves Tweetsie. We had season passes last year and will probably purchase them again this year. It's a great place for families, especially families with young children!
We stayed in Boone at Comfort Inn Suites and would recommend it, and Tweetsie is in between Boone and Blowing Rock so Hotels should not be a problem to find.
Yes, Tweetsie will be open on Labor Day Monday, from 9 am - 6 pm
Yes, except food and feeding the deer. There is and obstacle/ropes course next to Tweetsie Railroad that has different owners and their tickets are separate.
Just took our four year-old and two-year-old grandsons. Get there at 9 when the park opens. Bring a roller cart if you have one. You can ride the bus to the top of the park and then take the walkway back down or ride the bus back down. I do recommend like the other person to bring snacks and drinks. The drinks and food in the park are expensive. We bought two adult meals and two kids meals with drinks and it was around $40. Look at the park schedule of events and see when they're doing special sing-alongs and stuff like that. Our grandkids were worn out by about 2:30 or 3. You can rent a cart at the park. I don't remember how much it is. When riding the train the two-year-old may be overwhelmed. Try to get back in the third or fourth car so the train is not so loud. Take him on the mouse mine train at the top of the mountain first because it's a little small train...
Hi, Cindy, we plan on being open this coming weekend. Last year we had a snow storm come through and it made the park even more magical! However, should we need to close due to extreme weather conditions we would make an announcement the morning of and would post it here on our business post, our website, Facebook, and Twitter.
Yes. I went with my dad, kids, and my daughter's friend. Kids age: 14, 12, 9, and 4. Not only did they have amusement rides for all ages but there are things for the adult as well. The Tweetsie train arrives around every 30-45 minutes. So make sure you have plenty of water. To get a good look over the events make sure you are early in line and pick 2-3 (there are 5) cars and pick a seat on the left side (from the door you have entered, the one facing the grass bank.) That way you get a good view of the show! Hope this helps! If you take a toddler make sure to check out the mousie train for them! They will love it!
Kids ticket $26, Adult is $55. I think it is unlimited train rides for that price. If you go towards day end they allow free entry on the following day. Since you couldn't enjoy everything on day 1..
Yes there are hotels Nearby I did not stay in any of them but in town everything looks very nice
Hi, Emily, our season pass discounts are related to park admission and train rides only.
They do not give AARP discounts.
For 2109 General Daytime Admission it is $50 for an Adult, $32 for a child (age 3-12) and free for children age 2 and under.

Hi, Phyllis, both No. 12 and No. 190 are doing great.

Yes, the train ride is open every day of the season, as it's the title attraction of the park!
Time Is now this up coming week/end . This past week was beautiful as well+
They still have some shows. No Native Americans though.
Yes plenty of hotels. There was a group of 11 in our party. We rented a cabin from Pigeon Loft Cabins and it was amazing!!! I would highly recommend them. Our house had five bedrooms, three bathrooms, pool table hot tub and outside fire pit!
If you're referring to the tickets that spew out of the arcade machine, then yes they "print out of the arcade". If you're referring to the admission tickets you would buy those at the front gate/entrance.
You don't need to print them. You can have them on your phone from the email and they will scan.
Yes! Have a great time!
Please call the Ticket Office at 877-893-3874.

Hi, David, tickets to Tweetsie Christmas include admission into the park, the train ride, Santa and his Gingerbread House, the Snowglobes, the Palace Christmas Show and a few child-friendly amusement rides. The price already includes tax and parking is free. So the only additional expenses are food and retail related items.
No, they are closed then. They close after the last night of Ghost Train which is October 26 and don't open until November 22 for Tweetsie Christmas.
Tweetsie Railroad's hours change depending upon the season. We will not be open Nov 8 -11, 2019. We will be open for Tweetsie Christmas on Friday and Saturday evenings, 5 - 10 pm from November 22- December 28, 2019. Our hours are listed on our website: https://tweetsie.com/plan-your-visit/schedule
Yes. Drinks and food.
You have to purchase your tickets for the Ghost train in advance online. There are scheduled times you have to choose from and they do sell out
Just not on the train
No, Tweetsie Christmas is not "Polar Express" themed. It is "Christmas" themed and approx. 25 minutes long.
Hi, Polly, we have wheelchairs and stroller rentals. You can learn more here: https://tweetsie.com/plan-your-visit/accessibility/

We are open Friday - Sunday, 9 am - 6 pm through May 26, 2019, then we will be open 7 days a week from Memorial day - August 26, returing to weekend hours through the end of October.
Hi, Megan, we are assuming you are referring to Letterland Days in May. We are open to the public on Letterland Days, however all the shows and the entire park are themed for Letterland and the park hours are 9 am - 4 pm.
Everything is open as usual with the added pluses of themed attractions
Ive never took a friend on those days. Im sure you can get that answer by simply giving them a call at the park. Have fun
I don't believe they have a senior rate.
Yes, you can. We can scan the tickets on your smartphone as long as you can call up the tickets with the bar code (generally found as an attachment to the email confirmation.
Large crowds train is full most of the time
If you purchase general admission tickets they can be used during regular daytime operations throughout the season. However, they will not be valid for Day Out With Thomas (June 7-16, 2019), Ghost Train or Tweetsie Christmas.

Opening day for 2019 is April 5th. For more information please visit https://tweetsie.com/plan-your-visit/schedule/ for more detailed information.
Not really sure but you can check out their website it would have more information
Yes Sir, my good man! Tweetsie Christmas is a yearly event, and will absolutely happen in 2019. Dates are listed on their website.
It's only open on Fridays and Saturdays that's why it opens in the middle of November and doesn't end until the 29th of December.
Tweetsie is very accommodating. Call the ticket office.
Unfortunately, no. you'll have to buy new tickets. For the 2019 season, tickets are $50 for adults and $32 for kids. Not bad considering the prices of, *ahem, more expensive theme parks. (I'm looking at YOU Carowinds.)
General daytime admission is $45 for an adult (age 13 or older), $30 for a child (age 3-12) and free for children age 2 and under. Admission for special evening events Ghost Train and Tweetsie Christmas are $38 per person and free for children age 2 and under.
Yes, As it is the title attraction of the park. The train is pulled by an authentic coal-fired steam locomotive. There is also the Mouse Mine train ride utop Miner's Mountain. Fun Fact: both Tweetsie's Historic Steam Locomotives and The Mouse Mine Train run on 3 ft. narrow gauge rails.
I believe it's every 30 minutes. I don't recall ever being there when it was longer than 30 minutes. Maybe we've always been there for a special events but I'm pretty sure some of our visits have been on normal weekends.
I believe there is a button you get (I think you have to ask for it), and a shout-out by the cowboys on the train ride if you tell the cowboys (If they don't notice your button first), but that's about it.
Our daytime hours are Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day Monday, 9 am - 6 pm through October 28, 2018. We are also open Friday and Saturday evenings 7:30-11:30 pm for Ghost Train, September 21 - October 27 AND Friday and Saturday evenings 5-10 pm for Tweetsie Christmas, November 23- December 29, 2018.
Do i need to pay for my grandson if he rides the kids rides or anything else he 5 years old do i need to pay for parking area let me know asap i was thinking about take him there tomorrow
Hotels sell cheaper. For example, I think Super 8 knocked off $5 per adult ticket.
The parking lot is very close to the entrance, it would be easy to get the cooler after the ride.
You can go to the website and find out when he's there.
We switch over to our daytime weekend schedule after August 26th. At that time we will be open Friday - Sunday, 9 am - 6 pm through October 28th. For our nighttime schedule, we will be open Friday & Saturday evenings, Sept. 21 - Oct. 27, 7:30 - 11:30 pm for Ghost Train. Then Friday & Saturday evenings, Nov. 23 - Dec 29, 5:00 - 10:00 pm for Tweetsie Christmas.
45.00 per person, but you don't have to pay to ride the train or the other rides. You do have to pay for food or gifts in the stores there.
No, but this park is very good with all children.
They offer discounts for AAA Members, Active Military and Active North Carolina State Employees along with their immediate family. Tickets must be purchased at the Ticket Office with a valid ID to receive the discount. Exceptions: Please note: There are NO discounts available for Day Out With Thomas, Ghost Train, or Tweetsie Christmas.
Yes, you are welcome to bring outside food and drink into the Park. Please note alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
There were several dogs on leashes at the park. I don't believe they can ride the train though. It would interfere with the performance.
Hi, Carolyn, the park is less crowded during the week, Monday - Thursday. There are special events that are included with general park admission (i.e. Cool Summer Nights, SpongeBob SquarePants, K-9s in Flight) so you might want to check the dates for those. Also, on Saturday nights in July, the park stays open late, until 9 pm and this is the perfect time to take advantage of "arrive after 3 pm and the next day is free" option.
Yes, we went Memorial Day and each took one...we had wipes, rain jackets (which we needed for about 2 hours) bottled water, and small first aid kit I always carry...no problems.
No it does not
Just couple weeks in june
13+ is $45, 3-12 is $30, and 0-2 is $0.
Besides the hills, which the handicap parking area avoids one of the big ones, there's a lot of things to enjoy near the train if they found it difficult to venture any further. It is wheelchair ♿️ friendly, and the beautiful sights on the train ride make it all worth while! I would say to go for it and live it up, and you always have the option to leave if you find it difficult, but it is a wonderful, enjoyable train ride and a memorable experience that I think is worth the trip for all ages alike! I have seen many elderly people both times I've visited and they were all smiling from ear to ear! I hope you all have a wonderful time if you go, and I think you will have no regrets! Best wishes to you all! :)
Tweetsie Railroad's Golden Rail Season Pass includes Day Out With Thomas. There are no additional fees.
