Besides the hills, which the handicap parking area avoids one of the big ones, there's a lot of things to enjoy near the train if they found it difficult to venture any further. It is wheelchair ♿️ friendly, and the beautiful sights on the train ride make it all worth while! I would say to go for it and live it up, and you always have the option to leave if you find it difficult, but it is a wonderful, enjoyable train ride and a memorable experience that I think is worth the trip for all ages alike! I have seen many elderly people both times I've visited and they were all smiling from ear to ear! I hope you all have a wonderful time if you go, and I think you will have no regrets! Best wishes to you all! :)
There are lots of stairs and hills to walk.
There are hills to navigate. My parents, 83 & 77 did ok with it, but probably would not make the trip again.
All you need is a stong back and the ❤ to make it a wonderful day for and person. I push my 82 year old mother in law all over Tweetsie Railroad. She loved it. The train has a handicap rape. The petting zoo is the only step area. That's where the strong will kicks in. One amazing place. . Enjoy!!!
It is wheel chair friendly though
To get from the parking lot to the flat part where the train is, you have to walk up a hill. Then there is getting in the train itself; the steps are steep. I'd say it's not worth it unless this has been a lifelong dream of theirs.
The main st. area of the park where the train and most gift shops are is flat, but to get anywhere else in the park you will have to walk up the hill.
There are hills but there is also the bus that can take them up to the top. The main area is flat and should not create any issues
There are steep hills to walk up throughout the park and parking area, probably not the best trip for them.
