Application for a California driver license requires California residency, which you don't have. As long as you have a valid driver's license from your home country, however, you can legally drive in California. By the way, California does not recognize international driving permits. You need a real driver's license from your home county.

It would be better to go around 4 in the morning. Get in line. They give out about 80 numbers. The rest if the people in line will get a number to go back at 2 pm. The earlier you get their the better. They are fast when they open at 7:15 am., each morning.

First off, anytime you get your sticker use a knife or sharp blade to made a zigzag on the sticker so that if peeled off the entire thing doesn't come off as a whole. After that notify your insurance company and they can tell you more. If you have AAA they can help as well.

You don't need an appointment. Show up early enough, like 6-630 and they'll hand out appointment slips for the same day. You do need to complete the application online and screen shot the confirmation number. Test is super easy, study up on class c if you're rusty. Good luck

Go in the morning around 6 or 6:30 am get the appointment in the line. DMV will give u a paper appointment at 7:15 am. If you are first in line you will get an early appointment or rest somewhere at 10 am, 11 am or 12 pm appointment.

Yes you can, but to get a REAL GOOD spot in line you need to come by 6:00am. I went at 5 am and by 6:30am there was already a huge line. Early bird gets the worm with this one.

You can't make an appointment over the phone, show up early and they will hand you an appointment slip for later in the day, show up for that appointment and maybe 2 hours of waiting.

Real IDs can be renewed online but you can't first time cannot. You have to apply online and finish it at the DMV. You can however reapply for your license online but you MUST apply for a Real ID by 2021

It depends on where you are chronologically when you originally made the appointment. They'll most likely email you your new schedule.

As far as I know all test except the behind the wheel are being done but you MUST complete everything online to get an appointment. If you do not get an appointment then they most likely won't take you as a walk-in

If they are taking appts today, it's best you do everything you need to do online before making the appt.

Currently you HAVE to start the process online. They won't let you enter the building unless you show them that you've already completed all of the online portion of the DL renewal. Including uploading your proof of identity and proof of residency. Once that is completed you will get a confirmation # on a page with a red stop sign icon on it. Bring the paperwork you've uploaded and show that confirmation number and they'll let you in to complete the application. (I did this about 2 weeks ago for my expired DL)

Your license will be extended. See the website. Literally if you walk to any dmv they won't let you in, and all they will say is go to the website and make an appointment.

The website says they're open, but I went last Friday and the doors were locked. Several other customers were waiting also. We all got tired of waiting for someone to unlock the doors, so we left. This means that if the website allows you to make an appointment, there's no guarantee you'll be seen.

I think the rule is 10 dats after your license expires. If I were you schedule time to walk in and handle it before the expiration date.

Months in advance is smart, but I was able to recently get an appointment the following week from their online scheduling section. If there's nothing available in Torrance, perhaps the Carson or other town offices may have availability. Also, if everywhere is fully booked, try back a day or two later. I've gotten appointments that way, suppose people cancel and they open slots? Hope this helps!

The written test is generally given using a touch screen. Don't panic. It's easy to use. Probably took me about 15 minutes. If you can, take the sample test on the dmv Web site. It's similar to the behavior of the real test.
