My daughter and I had a great time in the caverns. We did both tours at $30. Or you can do individual tours for $20 each. It was very busy. The guides were great. The cool caverns were a fantastic choice on a warm summer day.

This is one of the natural wonder in Ohio. These caverns are amazing find and very well maintained. The guide and staff are very friendly and make your caverns tour memorable. Beast thing if the cavern is that none of the food item is allowed except water. There are amazing formation of crystals inside throughout the cavern which are 3/4 of a mile. There are two tours of two different caverns. Depending on the time you can plan, each tour takes 50 mins. There is plenty of space for parking, enough place to have picnic in amazing lush greenery with nice views. If you are nature lover the. It’s must visit. 👍👍👍

Each tour is about 50 minutes and it flew by so fast! The tours are pretty frequent so I think we maybe waited 10 minutes for the next tour. This was such a fun tour and the temperature made it a great summer activity. If you have the time, go ahead and do both tours. We will definitely be back to do the historical tour. So much fun!

Good for one day trip with kids/ family. When it is hot outside inside the cave is so cool inside. A 50 minute guided tour is worth. You can also plan half a day visit. The entire trip may take no more than 3 hours including taking pictures and visiting gift store. There is a big landscape beside the gift store for children to play. They also have picnic tables. On weekends park closes at 5pm. Please bring your own water, food & snacks they dnt have a cafe there. The guide of our tour was so nice and knowledgeable. They are bunch of young kids and are very friendly. Two types of guided tour you get to choose from. We picked up the “natural” which was $20 per adult.

Yes and they are opened all year around.. even if it's super cold out it's ALWAYS 56 degrees in the caverns..Have fun!

Hello, I work at the Ohio Caverns. We don't open until 10 so don't show up early because the park will not be open yet. This time of year we run tours approximately every 30 minutes. Sometimes we have groups with reservations scheduled so that can delay start times for people just walking in. Also, we do limit tour size so if we fill up a tour then we move to the next time. So that would be another reason you may need to wait a little while. Thanks for your question.
Hello, The Crystal King is the largest known stalactite in Ohio, and is located deep inside Ohio Caverns. We offer tours daily, and they run at frequent intervals during business hours. Thank you for your question, and we hope to see you soon.
It depends if you get chilled easily and what the temperature is outside. It is 56 degrees inside the caverns. I wore a light sweatshirt and was comfortable.
Thank you all for your answers. We do not recommend strollers, due to the fact that most of the passageways are too narrow for them. We do have a handicap accessible portion of the cavern available in the summer months, by reservation only. It is a shorter tour, but is wide enough for wheelchairs, strollers, and walkers to fit through. Thank you for your question!
Yes, they're both guided tours. They have so much info on the caves very interesting for sure. I'd do both but if your only doing one do natural wonders.
No.. we have to wait for 1 hour 30 minutes..so plan accordingly.
Hello, In 2012, we opened new areas of the cavern to the public, which allows us to do two different tours in separate areas of the cavern. The Historic and Natural Wonder are the two main tours we offer, but we also offer the Limestone Tour for people with limited mobility. The Limestone Tour is the very first part of the Natural Wonder tour, and is completely handicap/wheelchair accessible. The Limestone tour lasts approximately 20-25 minutes, whereas the Natural Wonder and Historic both last closer to one hour. For those who can walk, we recommend either of our larger tours, but for those with limited mobility, the Limestone Tour is our only option. Thanks for your question!

I recommend doing both tours. The historic give the history and understanding of the caves, the other is scenic and more beautiful.
Cassie, Yes, we offer the Winter tour which tours the prettiest parts of the caverns. It is a guided tour and takes approximately an hour. We are open from 10 until 4 today and tomorrow. Starting Tuesday we will be open from 9 until 5 and the summer tours will be open. Thanks for your question.
I am pretty sure they would not allow it. Most of the tour you are moved along at a steady pace. I dont believe you would be even allowed to bring it down into the cave just like the reviewers said above due to the concern for the crystals in the cave.
A larger person would have to turn side ways at a couple spots on the natural wonder tour. Depending on how large they may rub against the sides
Yes, you do have to pay for tickets. I don't believe it's a National or even a State Park.
I'm sure. That would be great if they sold items online.
19 for adults single tour 29 for both
I would say no, I had trouble doing it with a baby on my back, the footing is very smooth and wet if you're in the back of the group for the shorter tour you will be fine but for the longer one I wouldn't risk the 60 stairs on the way out
We went about a month ago and everyone wore masks. The tours are in groups of about 10 people so it's relatively small. The area you wait in is all outdoors so you can stay as far away from people as you choose.
No coffee that I could see only cold drinks and a few snacks. There was a food truck there the day we went.
Tours are guided and leave every 5-10 minutes during open hours. You must purchase a ticket for each person attending a your and group sizes are limited. It's best to purchase tickets ahead of time online; if you wait to purchase tickets once you arrive, you may have to wait a couple hours for a free space in a tour.
No pets in the caverns.
During #covid2020 we saw only light snacks available. Recommend to bring food as required.
They have a bus entrence so you should be ok

There is no senior discount.
Wonderful gift shop. T shirts are decently priced as is everything. Snacks too
There are 2 different tours. The Historic Tour is single flight but not a lot to see. When it opened it was essentially gutted of everything. The Natural Wonder Tour is the best tour. It has a sidewalk leading to the entrance. However, there is a 60 step flight of stairs at the end. It is the only way out and there isn't a rest point on the steps. There aren't any rest areas during the tour, but you stop a lot during the tour. Hope this helps.
It is 19 dollars for adults or 10 dollars for ages 5-12 for either the Historic or Natural Wonders Tours. If you do the combination tour, which is both, it will be 29 dollars for adults and 15 dollars for ages 5-12.
I believe it is under private ownership but I don't know who.
Hello Judy, We do not offer a military or senior citizens discount at this time. Thanks for your question!
Yes dogs are allowed, but poop courtesy is expected. Carry out your dog's waste un bags and dispose of properly. Open year round. Lodging available in town and nearby.
Yes 9-5 https://ohiocaverns.com/rates-hours/
No, we just showed up and paid our admission. Best experience of our lives. Wear comfortable shoes for walking/climbing.
No, guides in front and back, hold tour until all gather
Belkefontaine is the nearest
$19 for adults for the winter tour, $10 for children 5-12 Prices are different for summer tours, as more is open.
Price of the winter tour Adult: $ 19.00 Child 5-12 years: $ 10.00 Child of 4 years and under: no charge
Hello Vicki, From October 1-April 30, we have one cavern tour called the Winter Tour available. It lasts about one hour, and is about 1 mile in length. There are 38 steps to enter, and 60 coming out. Neither sets are overly steep, and both have hand railings. From May 1-September 30 we have two tours available. The Natural Wonder Tour has no steps to enter, and 60 to exit. The Historic Tour has 44 steps to enter and 38 to exit. All of these sets of steps have hand railings as well. While you are in the cavern, there are no big inclines to overcome. A few slight ups and downs with the natural flow of the cavern, but nothing overly difficult. We are sure both you and your grandson would love the cavern, but understand your leeriness. If you have any other questions, please feel free to give us a call at 937-465-4017. Thanks for your question!
There there are plenty of campsite campgrounds in the area I was only 8 minutes away when I went
Yeah im pretty sure its the same price all year. The caverns themselves maintain a very consistent temperature all year long so weather/time of year really isnt an issue other than your ability to drive there
There are restrooms on the grounds, not in the actual caverns. There is no opportunity to go back to the restrooms during the underground tour.
K-hon, we do not have large slabs. We do have some small tumbled pieces and many other semi precious gems and minerals for sale.
The entrance is man made, the cavern is left from a dried up underground river
Yes it has a wheel chair tour by reservation . I am not sure if it is limited to only part of the Caverns though.
Hello, Luckily, the cavern is situated inside of a hill near one of the highest points in the state of Ohio, so we never have to worry about flooding. We are open 7 days a week, rain or shine, and run tours every 15-20 minutes! Thanks for your question!
Hello, In the Summer months (May-September), we offer two different tours called the Natural Wonder tour and Historic tour. Both in the cavern, just different parts of it. Prices for each tour are $17 per Adult, $9 per child ages 5-12, and kids 4 and under are free. If you would like to do both tours while you are here, it would be $29 per adult and $15 per child ages 5-12. Thanks for your question!

I'm 6 foot five I weigh 275 lb I had to duck a couple of times some a little narrow but not too bad
Hello, and thanks for everyone for your help with this question. Jennifer got the closest to the correct answer! We do have the first part of the Natural Wonder Tour that is wheel chair accessible. It is only about 15 minutes in the cavern and 5 minutes down and 5 minutes back, so about 25 minutes total time. We call it our Limestone Tour. It does have some smaller stalactites and other interesting cave formations, but does not get into the larger rooms with the best views. We do request that you call to make reservations for this tour, just so that we can have adequate staff on hand. Tours are available from 9am until 5pm daily. The cost for the Limestone Tour is $12 per adult and $9 per child. We hopes this helps!
No lockers. I wouldn't carry luggage through the caverns. It's wet, dirty and tight spaces. It's safe to leave luggage in your car or ask someone behind the desk to watch for you.
Between and hour and an hour and a half.
No discounts. However what is the difference in the price between veterans combo packs and the gulag combo pack prices.
The winter tour uses a different entrance, but it's still worth it. You still see the "king carrot", it's about midway through the tour. You will also see all 3 "rooms" full of crystals. It's all beautiful and totally worth it.
We are open every day, year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Our hours are 9:00 am-5:00 pm May-September, and 10:00 am-4:00 pm October-April. Our tours are ran periodically throughout the day. Thank you for your question!
Please use their website for age and cost. I don't recall. Perhaps you can get the distance from Google maps or Mapquest for distance. I'm not familiar with Indiana.
