I recommend doing both tours. The historic give the history and understanding of the caves, the other is scenic and more beautiful.
Natural wonders tour has stalagtites & stalagmites, historic tour does not.
The historic tour taked you asking the original pathway, which has suffered a lot of vandalism and the natural wonders tour takes you through an intact area of the caverns. You really should do both.
The historic tour gives you the history of the cavern and how everything was discovered. The natural is a much prettier and is where you see alot more. You can take both tours. I would recommend it
On the Historic Tour you enter the cave from the original entrance.
How long are the tours
While they are both amazing & I encourage you to do both...there are more formations in the Natural Wonders tour. If you have small kids....under 8yrs, I would leave them at home. There is a lot of great information but they will more than likely get bored & impatient.
The historic is the original section of caves that that were found in the 1890's, remnents of those early explorer's are still foubd on the walls of the caves. On the natural Wonder part, you see the stalagmites and stalagtites and other mineral deposits. I recommend doing both tours, start with historic and then the natural wonders, you can't go wrong.
