I am pretty sure they would not allow it. Most of the tour you are moved along at a steady pace. I dont believe you would be even allowed to bring it down into the cave just like the reviewers said above due to the concern for the crystals in the cave.
Thanks for the answers. Yes, we allow flash photography. However, no tripods or monopods are allowed for many of the above answers.
Never seen anyone use a tripod. The pathways through the cave are very very narrow and will make a tripod hard to use. In not sure if it's allowed. I have used a dslr in the caverns and the photos turned out good with no flash. A steady hand is really helpful.
Were is Crystal King's Cave?
I felt there is no room/space to accommodate a tripods. The walk path is so narrow. Water droplets from top in a dark passage may spoil your device
Agreed. One passage in particular is very narrow. The groups are of about 20 people. The good old lanyard around the neck will work fine. A snapshot camera will struggle but a dslr with a good lens will grab plenty of light. Occasional flash is all you need. There isn't much time or area for pose photography. The gift shop has a book with fantastic pictures and information in it that is totally worth buying.
It seems like it wouldn't be a good idea, just because of the damage the tripod is capable of doing. They don't even like the sides of the walls to be touched. The path is lit, so your shutter speed doesn't have to be that slow. A steady hand or image stability is really all that is required.
