Staff is ever so helpful but the site is small and needs more room for all the people needing assistance.
Gregory Thomas
Great! Except for those who have jobs. They have to be put on a waiting list. Until rooms are available. Sleeping on the street while working is hard. Wish they would have been more understanding.
Micheal
Men's bathrooms are in horrible shape. The GSPs will not work. Mostly rude and condescending to everyone. Hostility is created by the staff to turn the residents against each other. The CDC and code enforcement need to take a surprise sweep of the entire building.
Thomas Newsome
Very busy, but adequate services available. Somewhat lengthy and trying process to get into, but worth it. Fairly clean with three meals, bed, locker, showers and laundry. Staff is helpful and respectful. Job and housing assistance available. Strict social health practices enforced.

So they’d rather have homeless families living out in the street if they’re not married? That’s not fair.
The men's service center only takes new clothing per established policy
Its definitely needed here!
You'll have to speak with a worker there. Every case is different. Ask about " diversion"
U would have to call and ask, but i know there is a lot of homeless people that is outside and around both of the shelters daily that need a hot meal
Im no longer homeless Ms Eileen
Too far to walk. You can take a bus or uber/lift.
Yes always
There is no rehab as such. But they do have counslers for addicted people. The coalition is mainly a place
It may work but go to the intake and speak with someone.
They have rooms for families like if you have a boy like 5 to 8 they will give you a room if you are in a relationship with kids you get one
Call or visit volunteer coordinator.
He has to have ID
The Coalition has many resources. They work with several other organizations to help the homeless and impoverished to overcome the hurtles of feeling helpless and alone. Several companies are on site daily providing jobs to those who are capable. Volunteers and local churches provide meals, clothes, shoes, and hygiene products to those in need. The Coalition is willing to work with you on the duration of your stay while providing much needed support and guidance for those most affected by today's struggle. Great organization. The city of Orlando truly comes together to help people re-establish themselves and uplift the spirits of those less fortunate.
If ur that bad where ur dying go to the hospital not a shelter
Yes
Yes Coalition for Homeless is Amazing.
Tell her to have any & all State & or Pic ID'S, RELEVANT DOCUMENTS ready. If there's room in the women's w children dorms, she should be able to get in..Be on line abt 7:15am as intake starts 8am. Line up on PARRAMORE & CENTRAL BOULEVARD SIDE, NOT TERRY AVENUE GATE. OTHER, BETTER OPTION..PLAN B.. IF YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE can let her stay few days, tell her FRIDAY (THEY'RE ONLY OPEN FRIDAYS) GOTO THE HOPE TEAM. ( located BEHIND The Christian Service Center/walk THROUGH their parking lot to the building)(ask for MS. FRAZIER) HOPE TEAM has a REUNIFICATION PROGRAM. THEY'LL DEFINITELY pay for their tickets to reunify & relocate them back home & GIVE THEM A WALMART GIFT CARD UNDER THIS PROGRAM. AGAIN, bring ID's & documents. Wait on line. Try to be there by 8:30AM. OR PLAN C.. IF SHE CAN GET IN COALITION, I'D DO THAT & STILL GOTO HOPE TEAM FRI TO APPLY FOR REUNIFICATION PROGRAM SO WHILE WAITING FOR TICKETS THEY'RE INSIDE NOT ON STREET. GOD BLESS 🙏 PASTOR DAVIS
Okay do they give me a place to stay?
No the shelter doesn't. Maybe when the other person said "they have several prograns" they really meant "they try to push the problem on outside sources" . The coalition literally has no rehab programs, at all. You can ask the case manager for reference material. They may even make an appointment with a rehab center for you, but the Coalition makes sure that they don't have anything to do with it.
It's actually not that dangerous at all, once you follow the rules,,,you should be Fineeeee,,,do family events and get to know your neighborhood.
They do charge a fee of 3 dollars per day if no job 60 an week if you have a job
Yes. It family friendly and should help get you on your feet. I will keep you in my prayers.
Yes
2m from Greyhound. Need FL DL. So have to change at dmv
Visit intake counselor
You will have to come early around 630 it's like a first come first serve
Michael, I do not know the answer to your question.. But I would definitely contact this organization, the Coalition for the Homeless, and ask them the questions. I feel pretty sure they can direct you to somebody here in Orlando that can be of assistance.
No! YOU ARE NOT CHARGED ANYTHING! Once you've been accepted and assigned a bed(w/locker), upon your application submitted and you interviewed, in reference to your circumstances and situation, you will have 30 day assigned residence with an assigned case manager for resourceful assistance...
The best time to go is at 8. An hour after they open, if you or your child need a shower, or some clothes- they will let you in, and provide the necessities, and then you will have to go back out to the seating area. Hope this helped, god bless.
You would be with the kids and he would be on the men's building.
Yes they are.... All are welcome
Call them directly and ask them what you need to know. Things change and you want to get the correct information.
Yes they can give you a paper saying your homeless so you don't have to pay for anything
You have to get there early in morning no guarantee
I’m leaving from Nebraska with my 3 kids, to Orlando I was wondering what happens if they don’t have room do they send you off with nowhere to go? Or do they find somewhere for you to go?
Good luck they never have beds
Mrs./Ms. Soto, Hi! To answer & assist, pls, DO try one or all of these for assistance😊 Sacred Heart Traditional Catholic Church Office: 407-841-5878 • Pastor's cell-phone: 407-484-1940 St. Vincent De Paul Orange County ph 407.880.3126 St. John Vianney, Orlando, ph 407.826.4898 St. Andrews, Orlando Florida, ph 321.319.0063 Holy Family, Orlando, ph 407.481.3223 Be advised, in the Coalition, there's limited space for belongings. For example, in Single women's dorm, you'll have a private locker, that's narrow in width to store items. As well, you'll have half-side of the bunk (underneath bed) you'll share to put your things. There's no storing anything on top of lockers, although there's room. Staff will confiscate it. See if the above referred ministries can assist w shelter, storage & other needs, as required. Hope this helps. Blessings
Call United way 611, to get info who can help you. You have to be first in line, starting at 4:00 or 5:00 am
No
Rescue mission. 31 days days free. Be there by 3 pm
Honestly there is a line around the block starting at 6. The earlier you show up the better!
Every case is different so contact someone in intake for the help you need
What is coalition phone number please
It's on a case by case basis.
4am I was told people start making the line. First come first serve if they have availability
Stan Charlery, When I stayed there, (Feb '14) it was Free. But I was under a Program with Lakeside Behavioral Health. I Believe Now, the Men stay in a Different Dorm than the Women's, as do the Families. You Must Call Every Morning, to See if a "Bed" is Open. You can stay 30 day's, But after a Certain limit, must pay $12/Day-Night. Your given a Social Worker, who helps you with All your needs. As far as jobs, The Orlando Library (just up Central Ave), has Computer's/Wi-Fi. Try to get into a Transitional Apt Program. I got into one of the Best!! But I also got My Previous Job back. Good Luck!😉
Yes
Good it worked out for Ms. Morris I did not have the same experience. However, everyone is different but good look.
Just stand on the litside on terry ave or on parramore ave if she is there u will see her going in or out
No they do not you'd have to take your pet to a kennel or surrender it to the local animal shelter
good place to be lived there for 9 months
To the homeless
I'm not sure. U could try & look up some information about them, and see if someone could assist with up to date information.
So even if I don't stay there I can use their address for mail
The men's service center is often near capacity to be able to stay an application needs to be filled out at the main desk of the men's service center on average it can take a couple of months before approved. I'd suggest staying at the salvation Army men's shelter while waiting they charge 8 dollars at salvation Army
Do they help with daycare I am in school and don’t have the care for me to do my internship or financial stability
This is a shelter, you can call them so you can ask them all the questions you want.
Of course, and they will also hold the mail until the person comes and pick it up.
No, all the same yet they do have a program called diversion you may qualify for.
Yes but you're better off having the post office to hold your mail making a general mail because the Coalition is a business and you cannot forward mail from the business I have tried it before
If you go to do a drop off, ask for Mrs. Shenita Williams and she can assist you with the necessary information as well as instructions to where to take all donations. Thanks and thank you for your support. Yes they do accept any and all donations and contributions.
U need too call 211 and they will help you if you have kids the will put you in a waiting list go get in the Shelter
If you are moving back to the state that you came from and as long as you have a place to go to they will help you get back. If your seeking shelter here, there is an intake building here on the property. Call the number provided on the site and they will tell you if they can help or not. They can even help you get ID... I pray that all works out for you and your family!!!!
Unmarried, male to mens center. Woman and kids to women side
They will take you in ...just call...i was there with my 5 kids and they are awesome and help you on your feet.
They only accept new items
You can stay at The Orlando Rescue Mission free till they can get you a bed. Just make sure you have phone so they can contact you. It's first come first serve.
Yes
They don't unless is a service dog, I worked there. Sorry
Not the place to get off drugs
Am relocated to Orlando for a job How can I get into a program that helps with housing. Am currently homeless and need a place until I can get on my feet
Depends on a few things... 1) the case manager assigned to u; 2) ur willingness and responsibility in meeting with ur case manager periodically; and 3) ur own willingness and responsibility to not depend on ur case manager all the time but to also look for housing on ur own. I personally was there for 3 months but because I found an apt. listing thru "The Hope Team" and started calling numbers for info and finally found a place. Been living here for 5 months now and I got the application, turned it in and came in to sign the lease all on my own. All my case manager did was encourage and applaud my initiative. Good luck.
Pacesetters Personal Services in Orlando. Is a day labor.close to the coalition..if you both have proper I.D. you will get paid daily...that may help you if you show up there at 445 am to try and get work.
call first, if no answer then visit the intake office and get an appointment with the intake coordinator, but I will tell you based on experience the intake process can be ABSOLUTELY HORRID for many homeless shelters, transitional housing programs, etc. due to high volume of applicants, lack of funds, poor volunteers, etc. Take note of this. There are 10,000 plus people in your situation that will do anything for a free ride including some attempting to kill people just for things like bread, a night in a shelter, etc. I would suggest if you can get into a really trusted friends place or something of that nature, do it with no hesitation. Being in Orlando homeless or not, people get severely attacked, robbed, and killed for the stupidest and most minor of acts. Being homeless especially increases your chances for these bad things happening to you, because guess where a lot of the crime comes from? anyway I hope this helps you.
School counselor
