This place is efficiently run and less of a hassle to view than other animal shelters. It is cleaner and seem to be a better organization. I found my last Lab-doberman puppy about 11 years ago here and it was love at first sight. He is no longer with us but will always be cherished.

One year ago on Jan 10, 2021 we came here to adopt this 7 year old cutie. Having adopted dogs in the past, it was definitely a different experience because of Covid protocols, but all the staff we talked with were very nice and helpful both on the phone and at the location! We are so incredibly happy to have found our now 8 year old furbaby. He has completely transformed from when we first adopted him, and it’s just amazing to have that experience with him. Our goal was to adopt a senior dog and Harbor care made that happen! Thank you!

This summer I found a stray dog. After searching for months for an owner, I had to accept that Buddy was now my responsibility. The financial impact was heavy just coming off reopening my business. My regular vet quoted $600 ro neuter him. SNPLA got it all done, vaccinations and neuter for $200. It was still a hit to my budget. I paid my vet for an exam and bloodwork because she was cheaper in that area and every dollar counted. Buddy's neutering went fine. We also donated about 15 dog beds to the shelter next door to help those poor babies with the cooling weather.

In December it will be 1 year since I picked up my baby bun from Harbor. The staff was really nice, they showed true concern and care for my bunny’s life after leaving the shelter. The outtake process wasn’t time consuming and they were very happy for her. I hope they see this. SHES DOING AMAZING! She’s the happiest bun and I’m so grateful for her. THANK YOU!

Was your dog micro chipped? If the micro chip info is in your name. You should be able to get your dog back. Not 100% sure tho
Yes accept all donations who is looking for good volunteers anything to help the animals that they care for or in their custody I'm also sure that you can write off that is a donation for tax purposes
Go to this facility in person and speak to someone at the front counter about the low cost clinics because when I was a volunteer in this institution they used to mention that they have some organizations that help the least fortunate with these types of problems. Or call the human services line at 211 and ask the operator if by any chance they can refer you to one of this low cost clinics. It might also help if you go to pasadena humane society at 361 south Raymond Avenue and talk to someone in the main office to see if they can help you find one of these clinics for your baby. Pray to god for guidance and hope for the best.
Good luck Paco!!
Yes they do
sometimes they have puppies but there are always lots of dogs that are young, and smaller breed dogs you just got to go in the mornings because they go fast!
Idk...I went for the sole purpose of rescuing a 7yr Male shar pei who was surrendered by his owners. He was is such poor physical shape but fantastic mental health. My daughters and I have spent an obscene amount of money to have his eyes corrected and bring him up to a healthy weight, (40#) when we got him, 55# now. The personnel are caring and love but the vet staff is comprised of cold hearted individuals who shouldn't even tend to house plants
Hi, I can help! In fact I fed the kittens in the street but I had problems with the neighbors in front and they sent me to a sheriff to inspect my house since according to the sheriff you can only have 3 pets per house, so I let him know that the kittens They were not mine and told me that I could not feed them because they could fine me and because of those neighbors I can no longer feed them because they keep watching me. And I really don't understand why he was angry if he was giving them outside my house and he wasn't invading anyone's property. Someone knows if something can be done and to others those neighbors throw a dust around their house that according to them is cat repellent and is like chili and pepper powder.
Ha! How wonderful! Am sure they will take anything, but if in doubt, I would call them?
oh yes. they definitely do accept all donations... Actually Carson shelter needs donations big time... for some reason everyone goes to Harbor and skips over Carson .. F Y I. ty
Donations are greatly appreciated. I have seen people drop off blankets and other supplies. But if you call them to confirm. I'm sure they do.
I do believe they still do, I know ten years ago they did. But a phone call to confirm would be wise.
you can just call the animal shelter and ask they might know where it's at
Yes
You can do walk ins. When i go i don't make appointment
Yes. They have a section where you can bring the dog of your liking to interact with it. You just have to let a worker know.
Go to the kennel area, take a look at all the dogs and when you find the ones you are interested in adopting write down the animal identification numbers, take photos of them if possible and take them to an officer or to an animal care technician at the front counter. Fill out the paperwork, pay the $244.00 for the adoption process which includes shots, microchipping, licensing, and a voucher to see a veterinarian within 3 days after coming out of the shelter. But if they see that they are sick with the flu for exampl, you have to pay for their treatments separately. After word, they will tell you when you can take them home with you. Good luck!
Yes, I don't see why not. Just be sure to be very careful if you see a yellow seal on some of their kennels because that usually signifies that they bite. Who knows? Perhaps by petting them you will fall in love with one of them and vice versa and he or she can go home with you on that very same day. Also, be sure to read all the signs very carefully because some of them are ferrel.
I'm sorry to hear about your dog but I don't work there I just know that the animals hospitail on 223 and Vermont is the best place to get help for him
I would check with them directly. There's a chance that they may take the rabbit.
I sincerely doubt that they would help you to resolve this issue because they claim that the city councel doesn't allow them to trap wild life anymore. Two weeks ago my mom my furry sister Sticker and I went to north central to enlist their help with trapping an annoying racoon that was biting the plants in the middle of the night and wouldn't let us sleep. But they told us that they were not allowed to trap wild life anymore that we had to hire a private abaitment company to help us get rid of this annoying creature. I guess one of the neighbors poisoned it because we haven't heard it anymore. But it wouldn't hurt for you to go directly to the shelter to see what they would tell you. Good luck getting their help with this kind of problem!
What does he look look like
I believe you must call them first before intake.
Am not sure I think they do but I dont know.
I'm not sure I go there to get my pets their treatments only. You would have to call them and ask. I'm sorry
There are grants and other funds available as well as low cost doctors for pets and people really aren't aware of contact pet pals in San Pedro and they can refer you to a bunch of these. Don't give up the fight yet look into some of these other options. To help my dog. I didn't have all the money to pay for it either they still help my dog.
I would recommend that you take the babies to another shelter. This shelter either transfers or enthusias
If your pet was neutered at this location they will have it on file and can give you the certificate
Yes I believe so I dropped off cute ones
G Wall - so long story short...yes i have kittens!!!!
The Spay Neuter Clinic has structured hours but the actual shelter has someone there 24/7 and donated items can be left at the door.
I called and they told me they do euthanize animals if they are injured or sick
South bay cats in san pedro has beautiful kittens
You have to go there if you can or even a family member, to present a bill in your name & address, and they will give an appt
It's an 800 number
Make an appointment first then come in theres a wait usually call first
Contact via phone. Not sure if this location is currently accepting animals
You can volunteer, I'm not sure if that applies for community service hours for the law, but it does for the High School, SPHS
No they don't accept reptil
Call Harbor Animal Care at 888 - 452 - 7381.
Yea they do but it's rare you have to check on daily basis, but they do have amazing dogs
Just go and check
They're really good at taking care of my dogs. I would always reckamend there wonderful service.
Its rare. But you should check. Check the internet for shepherd shelters. There are grpups helping all breeds.
Call them first
Turn them in for adoption. Or find someone that will take them.
I dont no what frim is but you do have to pay, unless u want a cat that 6 months or older it's free. Also the elderly gets them for free
Yes call them or go down there
Harbor shelter is a good choice...plus they have of other animal rescues that specialize & work w/ them, so none get left out...
Some are and some are not you just have to pay 5 bucks for the transport box
No, they cost about $50 to cover spaying & shots.
As luck would have it a stray cat had kittens about 3 weeks ago and im about to give them to the shelter. They do need to be checked out but seem pretty healthy. They all also are people friendly. Theres an all black one with white feet and a black one with a white patch on and around its nose also with white feet. Another one thats all orange and one more thats gray and white patches with white feet. If interested let me know and you can come see them ..i live in Torrance north side..name is mike
The shelter is at the same address as the harbor animal hospitol. Its the building towards the back of the property. Call them
You need an adult with you..Need to go to orientation..look at the website
If you have absolutely no other option, then yes, they will take your dog. The nice thing about harbor animal shelter is that they are non kill, which means they either find a foster home or keep your dig until it's adopted out.
You will need a driver's license or an official ID they do charge not a lot what times they do wave them or decreasing dramatically Sochi Russia America price good luck and I know the animals appreciate it we humans take them home good luck great place to adopt
Adult dogs (over 4 months of age) $101 with city dog license $122 Seniors can adopt a adult dog for $51 or with city dog license for $71 The shelters have many days throughout the year where dogs can be adopted for as little as $10 Call the shelter to find out about those days
I don't think it would cost the registered owner, that's the purpose of the chip. Did you find out?
Yes there's always a vet on hand I believe it will give vaccinations every day best thing would be to call ahead make sure and ask for the low-cost vaccination days could save a few dollars great place to take your pet there very friendly very helpful have a great day hope your pet is fine
I'm sure they do. But, I'd call them 1st, to make sure.
Not to the actual shelter. But there's the SNP that offers low cost vaccines and shots for deworming. It's right next to the main building for the shelter.
You can if you want but you can buy one there for 10 dollars it's a cardboard box with holes
Call Animal Control.
Cassandra has the correct answer
I would give them a call
Check their web site for free pet adoption... www.laanimalservices.com
Just get ahold of the original owner of your pet get a bill of sale or a transfer ownership paper you should be able to present it to the Harbor Animal Clinic and they should be happy to reunite you and your loved one good luck I would hate that to happen to me
Sorry idk
Just do it!!! Better yet, find someone who will take the cat, and give it a second chance, and a nice home,PLEASE!!!!
idk. I just went there to see if they had some black cats
Yes you can surrender any pet. I have seen chickens , rabit, even birds.
The price is for the pets first shots , neuter or spay and microchip . The total price for my kitten was close to 80$ I think .
We adopted three kittens last month
If you have any paperwork from when you surrendered the dog it might have info you will need for them to look it up
I would give them a call see wat they can do
Yes but ya don't want to wait
You probably should be ON them! Those kittens have a time clock! And those care workers as in ALL aspects of care are sorely put upon! In anything now days the watch word is follow up! Harang em! Though of course its only my opinion.....
You can also take the kitty to the Long Beach animal shelter! They take good care of animals there. It's very clean , and they are really nice
Take in a photo with you or a missing flyer they will put it in a book that people can check.
No this is not a no-kill shelter. They claim that they only euthanize the animals that are really sick but I don't buy it for a second. The other day when my mother, my puppy and I went to north central to drop off some newspaper we saw smoke coming out of the shelter's windows because the incinerator was turned on full blast. They were burning all the animals that they had just euthanized. They are a bunch of hypocrites who only think of themselves and they have absolutely no regard for the pain and suffering of others! They kill the animals due to lack of space, potential adopters, or because they are too sick for anyone to want to do anything for them!
Sometimes they do. It would be best to call them or even just stop by.
As a general rule, they charge $125.00 to sterilize a dog, but that depends on his/her weight. I suggest that you go to the front counter with an ID such as your driver's license and a gas bill or a bill from the department of water and power and ask an employee if you qualify for a voucher to cover some or all the cost of the surgery. When my mom and I got the voucher to sterilize our French poodle named Sticker they only covered the cost of the procedure but we had to pay around $20.00 for the Collar, and another $20.00 for the pain medication and another $20.00 for the antibiotic. Good luck and remember: all of these prices may vary depending on where you take your dog for the surgery.
I am pretty sure they let you volunteer. The best thing to do is call them at the shelter and ask.
If you are seeing a pet being martyrized, come here personally and talk to someone at the counter and write the report to the official to take action on the matter.
