Last night at on June 5th, at 10 pm, I went to the Rite Aid in San Pedro to fill a door dash order. This order had multiple items including 3 twelve packs of sodas and other heavy items. There were no shopping carts or baskets to shop with in the front of the store. I found 3 shopping carts in the back of the store so I proceeded to use one to shop with. I was immediately confronted by the store manager and he told me that the shopping carts were for employee use only. I then asked if there were any baskets or shopping carts for customers and he said that there were none in the store. So I was then forced to carry all the items by hand making multiple trips to the register. I do not know if this was store policy, but I do not think it is a good business model to hide the shopping carts and not allow customers to use them when they find them. I hope this is an isolated incident, but I fear that this store will close soon. Hopefully Corporate will read this post in order to allow customers to use the stores shopping carts before someone is seriously injured from carrying heavy items around their store.

Thank you, Christina, for your compassion and care (over 20 or more years💝). “There’s No Place Like Home”, and there’s no place like Rite Aid Pharmacy on 5th and Gaffey in San Pedro. Christina is the best!!! All the pharmacists are extremely helpful as well; we are blessed by many of them there at 5th and Gaffey. All greet you with smiles and are happy to help you. They’re willing to work with the patients & insurance co. to give the best care.

If it were possible I'd give it two and a half stars rather than two. The store itself is actually well stocked and it looks ok; they seem to do a good job keeping it clean and orderly. The fatal flaw of this particular location is that it is chronically understaffed; there never seems to be anyone on the sales floor, almost never, to help you if you need help finding something or if you need someone to help you with an item that is secured. The one or two employees that they do have are in the front ringing up customers. Sometimes one will be at the register and the other one performing ice cream service which means the line gets really long. I'd say go to CVS, the Rite Aid on Western or even one of the independent pharmacies, depending on what you are looking for. This last time I went was so frustrating and it made wonder if maybe in the future I should take my business elsewhere. I needed an item that was secured to prevent theft. No one was on the sales floor to retrieve it for me. The people in the pharmacy said they don't have a key but they got on the PA system and called for an associate to come and help me. 7 or 8 minutes later still no one from the store; they called again and still no one came. I finally intercepted one of the cashiers who happened to be walking by to get what I wanted.

This place needs new employees, the lines take forever, there's a heavyset lady, with blonde hair tips, that works the night shift as a cashier, who was being extremely rude to me, she wouldn't sell me any cigarettes even though I showed her my ID, she overcharged my debit card, she needs to be re-evaluated or fired because it really seemed like she had a chip on her shoulder. Not gonna shop here again until she's gone and I will probably tell my family and friends not to either.
