The thing is...even after you bolt, you still find yourself doing the things you learned at the Beacon House, including picking up other peoples garbage on the beach. It keeps you grounded and teaches you humility which is just one of the lessons you will learn there. I had come to the Beacon House in a state of desperation, my mind racing out of control like the undead, but as soon as I got a moment of clarity, I bolted and kept trying to do things my own way. It's definitely insanity but thank God They cut me off from the world long enough to peel back all my layers before I had left, and thank God I learned enough tools to stay sober. The Beacon House is powerful even for those who bolt. And for those of you still on the fence, and want to surf, do yoga, and hang by the pool, there's a place in Malibu that only charges about 85,000 (just for a month) minus the recovery of course.

I was at Beacon House for the entire month of April, 2020. Worst experience I have had at a so called treatment facility. Covid-19, not withstanding. I was housed in one of their buildings. Due to Covid-19, we had limited contact with society on the outside. Yet, we still lacked for proper food and beverages. The food brought to our building was almost always cold and portions ridiculously small. When we ran out of water bottles, we were told to fill them from the sink!! We had little to no snacks, which was absurd as Beacon House had individuals driving company vehicles on a daily basis. Yet, the worst issue I and others encountered, was an individual being in charge of myself and others who's only QUALIFICATION was the fact he had around three years sobriety. This man would YELL, SCREAM and HOLLER, when there was a perceived issue with one of the residents. His people skills were terrible. Just because someone has a few years of sobriety does by no means make them qualified to council someone. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BEACON TO ANYONE IN NEED OF A PROGRAM!

You mean come to visit? No. When I was there in 2007 no friends or family were allowed to visit. No letters, no phone calls, friends and family were not even allowed to give you money or cigarettes. But still, this was the best possible place for me. Almost forgot, back then it was a 9 month to a year program.
I can help if you do not find the help reply
