Nice relaxing ride. Signs say no motorized vehicles or motorized bicycles, However, half of the bikes I saw were E bikes. Just peddle your bike, be safe and respectful and you won't have an issue.

The beach was easily accessible and because its paid parking the lots are pretty empty. There is a pay station near the bathrooms. Not too crowded. We went for a picnic and to find shells. When we arrived there was a sign about the water contamination. Didn't worry too much about it until my kids were playing in the water and the water started changing colors 🤢. Then I noticed the beach was stained with this possible sewage. I won't be coming back to this beach. There are better more cleaner beaches up the coast. I recommend Torrey Pines we also went there and the water was clean no sewage signage and same parking fee. There barely any seaweed either. Silver strand beach had massive amounts of seaweed and the smell was pretty bad. Also there was more garbage on the beach than the other beaches we visited.

We have been coming to Silver Strand State Beach for 5 or 6 years. We visit California every summer from Arizona because my kid's love to surf and boogie board. The beach is nice and very clean. The waves are good for surfing and boogie boarding. There is plenty of parking, showers, restrooms, and a few picnic tables. The beach does get busy but never feels crowded. There are lifeguards present. Be aware of stingrays. We just returned from a long weekend in July and there were so many stingrays this time. My oldest son did step on one and get stung. The lifeguard was very helpful and sent my son to the main tower to soak his foot. There were 5 other people that had also been stung and were doing the foot soak the same time as my son. I don't know if we've just been lucky our other times there or if the stingrays were just out in full force this time.

It’s a parking lot that happens to be adjacent the beach. $65 gets you hookups and a view of the dune (can’t actually see the shoreline unless you cross the dune.). Many folks partying, but several families as well. Restrooms sub-par, only outdoor shower. Unfortunately, this wsd our worst CA state park experiment after having stayed in several others. Moreover, the state park personnel were grumpy, bossy and unfriendly. Glad we only stayed one night and won’t return.

California highway rest areas allow 8 hours of parking.
On the bay side of the park there is tent camping, have to walk under the road through the tunnel to get to it.
Yes,but must get there early in day, true shell collectors arrive to watch sun rise. Hope you are blessed with Gods beautiful oceans leftovers. 🐚🐒⚓
Permitted but not the best beach in San Diego for this sport. Silver Strand State Beach is host to some of the best wind surfing in the world. So all that wind and paddle boarding don't mix well, though it is permitted. Try a sheltered beach like la Jolla Shores or Torrey Pines State Beach. Also for beginners Sail Bay in the Mission Bay area. These are ideal for the sport of paddle board. Hope it helps! Wear sunscreen!
Veterans can get a State Park pass for free and it is good for all California State parks.
Dispute the charge on your card. Or go to the rv camping office in the park. Someone is on site 24/7.
No not yet
No dogs allowed on state beach even with a leash. :(
Whats your defiñition of "camp"? There is NO room for any tent camping. There are only spots for RV's on the hot asphalt parking lot. There are no trees for shade, Now if you call that "camping" the answer is yes, you can camp there. To me it's ghetto as hell to hang out in a parking lot.
Yes on the bayside there are real showers open from 9am to 6pm but they cost some money(change) otherwise there are regular rinse off outdoor showers on the beach side
2019 pricing: $65 beachfront; $50 for all others. 50amp/30amp and water at each site. Central Dump Station $10
I really don't know about the maximum length but the spaces are quite small in my opinion. It's like staying in a parking lot between an auto speedway and sand dunes. Very loud road noise. The ocean view.
The RV campground at the state beach has a 1 week max this time of year. You can return for another week after leaving for 48 hours up to a max of 30 days per year.
No tent camping
Where are you in San Diego?you can go to the bay and park.you can go to Walmart parking lot,you can go to blm land just outside of east county You could go to a park n ride
We pay parking fee with a card
You can actually make reservations day of arrival on reservecalifornia.com- or call the campground kiosk to find out day of availability. Only self contained RV's allowed
Unfortunately no. The gate officially opens at 7:00. Many people park their car across the freeway at the cays, where there is public parking and walk or bicycle. It's 3/4 of a mile
Don't know. Ask hosts
I've Had a Great time at The Silver Strand Beach ⛱️
There's rv camping that's right up against the beach, not sure how much $$$
There is no Wi-fi here oh, you have to rely on your mobile network.
$10 to park but totally worth it. Never too crowded and I agree beware of stingrays, shuffle your feet
Jennifer, Silver Strand has two sections. The day use section and then the camping section where you can bring your RV/Trailer and camp
By the third parking lot, next to the trailer parking area.
I don't know, I'm visiting
Not by the campground
$10 for the day, $15 on holidays, or hourly rate as well.
No fire pits on the beach, just at your camp site. Everyone pays. If you are visiting, you must vacate by 9:30 or you're stuck in the parking lot.
Yes there are fire pits and you do have to pay to enter, $10 a day.
Yes, 30 and 50 amp service, water hook up, but no sewer hook up.
We just stayed 7 days and wanted more
I've seen people take tents for the day, but I dont think you can have a fire pit. Some people take a bbq grill and cook on the parking lot.
No
Yes, recommend boondocking at the Coronado Cays along Silver Strand. 🤙🏼
That's out ragous fees must be demolished most of California is most un reasonable beautiful place but shame on California for being so greedy
Silver Strand State Beach features extensive beaches on both the Pacific Ocean and San Diego Bay. ... Beach restrooms are for Day-Use visitors. Per Coastal Commission regulations, campers must be in fully self-contained vehicles.
Idk. I'm not from there. I was visiting from AZ
Its pretty close to a military base... Probably not. Might want to contact FAA
Yes, just put it out when you're done. Use water to put it completely out before you leave
$10 to park. But to my knowledge outside of that its free.
It's a State beach and day use is $15 unless you can walk or bike in.
Probably, they charge by the vehicle. If you are camping definitely can come and go. If you go just for the day it way $5.00 . The ranger at the gate will tell you. If you decide not to go in there is room to turn around and go out the exit. This is a beautiful Beach. Its worth it swim in a gaurded area. Mind the rip currents. Do the sting ray shuffle
No tents, plus it can get very windy yhere
The place is busy and gets full. It's best to call first n
30 to 50 Amp all sites. Water @ sites as well.
Yes there are both electrical and water hook ups. There is a guy that will come and empty your holding tanks if needed. But beware there are alot of rules. They also lock the gates at 7 pm so if you are looking to do anything outside of the camp ground expect to be locked out ans pay extra for parking and a taxi ride back to your camp. No exceptions. You would think that they could come up with some coded gate so the people staying could come and go or have an staff on duty to open and close it. Your a prisoner of your camp 12hrs a day. Hard to enjoy the theme parks around the area when you have to be back before 7 pm sharp not a min late.
Camping prices are $65 for beach front, $50 for all others. $10 a day for just beach use. They do have nice bathroom and shower facilities there, very clean and well maintained in the camping area. The best sites go fast. Overall beautiful beach, the public beach is usually not crowded, except weekends somtimes. Prices were raised this year about 20% or so. Sucks The wildlife refuge just south of there is great for photographers wanting shots of Great Egrets, Herons, and lots of shore birds. No charge
I've seen RVs parked in the lot and it seems like they are as long as a semi truck
