It needs sandboard or sand sledge. Some people do bring plastic sledge. Ski wont work
Snowboards/skis won't glide on the sand, the park staff told us. There is a shop before the gate that rents sand boards for $20 with the wax you need.
No but ski poles help you climb the dunes though.....maybe if skis or boards if waxed enough might work....they do have special boards you can rent out though
Not sure of skis are allowed but I didn't see anyone use them. Also the boards have to waxed really well for it to work. Our plastic ones did not work because they were not waxed.
The people who used boards and sleds also waxed the heck out of them. They flew
Sandboards and sleds seem to work! Haven't seen anyone use skis.
