Great Visitors Center with plenty of parking and a couple of picnic tables. On the far end of the parking lot, you'll find the access to the trails - a short 1.5 mile loop hike (TRACK Trail) and access to the Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST). The TRACK Trail is easy, small hills, several steps and you get to go through a short tunnel beneath the Parkway. The Center provides great info on the Parkway while, nearby, you can find the NPS Headquarters building but is not open to the public.

We wish we had enough time to drive the whole parkway. We drove about an hour and a half south and turned around. It was a absolutely beautiful view. Plenty of places to pull off to soak in the view and to take pictures. Stopped in a little shop along the way. Definitely would come back again.

Sleep. As needed And current portolets were clean and accessible. Free car camp outside of Asheville made this convenient and hassle free for my no frills, no reservations, covid2020 ventures. Facility closed during my hours of stay.

The center has some nice educational info and a cute video. The staff was helpful (if not enthusiastic). We did the hiking trail loop which was surprisingly lovely for being along side the parkway. We say a box turtle, two large beetles and lots of interesting plants.
