There are tons of pull offs along the hwy to the sand dunes. One spot in la veta that has breath taking sunrise views. One in fort Garland right by mount blanca.
Camping at the Sand Dunes is $20 a night by reservation only as of August 2020. The campground has RV hookups if needed. The park itself has an admission fee.
Anywhere close by that doesn't require to pay to camp ? I'm self contained like an RV and don't need hookups
