I love caves, and this was a perfect side outing while visiting Austin! Approximately 3/4 mile total walked, about 70ft deep is the depth of the cave exploration. Tour guide was friendly amd informative about the history and maintenance of the cave. Cute little souvenir shop and a little zip line activity. Enjoyed it immensely!~

Fun informative cave tour. Takes just over and hour. Easy walk and great for kids. Some very beautiful rock formations. You can get get tickets online or in person. Make sure you check out the daily schedule, there are many school groups who book certain time periods. Tours are leaving about every 15 minutes. Must be able to walk the 1 mile stretch. No wheelchairs or strollers are allowed

An absolutely amazing and informative tour, including the history of the discovery, of the caverns and their importance to both the geological and paleontological records, as well as a nesting place for the local bat colonies. Our two teens were fully engaged, and are now keen to explore other cave systems in central Texas. Special shout out to Rachel, our tour guide par excellence! She has a great gift for making the tour a memorable experience!

A literal hidden gem right off of I-35. There are three levels of tours. The Adventure is best for families with young children or those who aren’t interested in crawling into tight spaces. The Hidden tour is a medium challenge for anyone over age 7, and is the one we did. The Wild requires participants to be over 13 and involves crawling and getting into and through tight spaces. It looks amazing and we will come back and do it at another point (either when the kids are older or as an adult date). Our tour guide, Tawny, was friendly and very knowledgeable. The caves are really cool and the tour gets you to see a wide variety of formations and features. There is also an area above ground where you can buy bags or buckets of dirt pre-loaded with semi-precious stones, replica arrowheads, or fossils and then “pan” for your treasures in the sluice. My kids loved it. There’s also a small playground which is well maintained. We didn’t go on the zip line ride although it looked fun. Overall, highly recommended. Although the tours aren’t cheap, they are well worth the money and give you a good amount of time underground.

You have to go with a tour guide. It is a little rushed since tours are timed, but fairly small groups.
You should be able to but the humidity is not to good for them
They turn the lights out while you are in the cave and it freaks you out. Something to consider
Yes we were there a few weeks ago and they offer military discount
Yes, absolutely! The guide will let you know when it put it away or how long your have to take pictures on your trek
I would call them instead of asking here.
Yes. The pathways are smooth and clear. There are some parts of the trail that have a mild incline, but if you steady the person you're concerned about just a bit, they'll do OK. a fanTAStic experience!!
No but it's only about a mile long walk for the $22 tour and maybe go down 70 feet.
Adventure tour $12.95 child/$20.95 adult. Hidden passage tour $16.95 child/$25.95 adult. Wild cave tour $100/person.
No, masks are not required.
Zip line, gift shop, playground, gold panning, and food.
About an hour, we're non slip shoes, shorts, it's 98 percent humidity you will sweat
Can pay there, if you pay online it has to be paid on the day you are going....so may as well just pay when you get there
It doesn't but be prepared.. you will get muddy
Prices vary based on the type of tour and age, check out their website
I wasn't in a group. But paid $22 and it was well worth it. The guide we had was amazing.
You can it's just that when you get deeper in the cave it gets hot and on the way back up your legs will hurt from the uphill walk
Unfortunately, animals aren’t allowed in the cave outside of service dogs. But the ticket booth is fully equipped with all the things needed to care for your dog while you’re in the cave!
The basic Adventure Tour is $13/child, $21/adult and available for all ages. The Hidden Passages Tour is $17/child, $26/adult, and participants must be at least 7.
Yes we are open on the weekends. Your Welcome
I would say it's probably safe to say they won't be open. This is just my best guess. I DO NOT know for sure. I'm certain all the employees will want to be home. I dont think this is really a popular time of year for business either.
they do not accept reservations for the normal tour unless you have a group of more than 20 people. You can go personally and buy the ticket.
Somewhere around the 20 to 25 dollar range I believe but not certain.
The walk was not hard, you can go pretty slow too, but please wear your most nonslip shoes.
There was a discount for the baby<3. There was no rest sites for the seniors though.
Yes, but they're flakes in a vial from China or Taiwan
"The maximum weight is 300 lbs. for an individual or 450 lbs. combined for two riders." Their website has all their info!
Walk is long, slippery, slow. Lots of standing as well. Rails are available in slick areas. Many suggestions to utilize them. After the long walk you return to the entry tunnel...a very steep climb with rails. Sneakers and work out clothes are a must. At the end of the cavern air is dank. You may start to perspire. But beautiful sights.
Yes, but it wasn't opened when we went.
Prices vary but the one we went to is 24 dll per person but up to 100 depending on the ride you like
You go inside in the cave and get in in places you don't see in regular tour but they rent you safety personal equipment to do it
Hello, Jeffrey! I’m Rachel and I work for Inner Space. All animals are allowed in the building! But the only animals we allow in the cave are trained mobility-assist and seizure/diabetic alert service animals. If your animal does not fall under one of these categories, we are more than happy to watch your animal for you while you go on tour! We love animals of all kinds here.
It sits right around 75 degrees year round. The humidity is pretty high in a lot of the cavern rooms.
Hello, Levi! Our last Hidden Passage tour runs at 3:00. We do recommend coming in early to buy tickets as they tend to sell out quickly. Currently, we’re not running Hidden Passage on Sunday’s, but any other day is fine. - Rachel, guide and social media manager for Inner Space Cavern
They are all day you have pick a time and show then. Or do like we did showed up and waited like 20 min for the next one to get in with. About a hour for the whole thing and there is a longer one tour maybe next we might do that one. Hope you guys have fun.
Hello, Kimberly! During the week, children (ages 4-12) are $14.95. They are $15.95 on weekends and holidays. Children under 4 years of age are free. We can’t wait to see you!
No petting zoo
Food not allowed water bottle no problem but make it clean. I think u won't feel thirsty in side
It's pretty slippery and uneven, and sitting space is minimal. I believe they offer a cart tour though. I'd give them a call!
Yes.
The regular tour is pretty simple. I was recovering from a sprained ankle and was worried about it, but it was fine.
Oh, that's a great question. You may want to call and ask them. At one point, the tour guide asked if any felt lightheaded but I'm not sure if that was apart of a joke or if he was serious..
The last tour goes in 15 minutes before closing time. So, if it closes at 5, last tour is at 4:45. The doors will be locked at 5 so that no new people come in. But the gift shop will stay open until the last person leaves.
There is no discount for senior citizens, but there is a AAA or military discount. You can also mention the $1 off coupon!
The basic adventure tour lasts just over an hour. From my understanding the last offering would be at about 4.
Children age = 4-12 Ages 3 years and under are free Monday-Thursday Adults $20.95 Children 4-12 $14.95 + tax Friday-Sunday Adults$21.95 Children $15.95 + tax Prices listed are before tax. Tickets must be purchased the same day as the tour.
Best to wear a comfortable shoe and something that will help you from slipping as certain area of the tour are wet. We wore tennis shoes and had no troubles. I saw no one while we waited or as people that came back from the tour wearing sandles... but doesn't mean you can be a trend setter.
The bag of sand is about $10 but with that cost you can have the kids go to the sleuths box and "pan" for rocks. The kids loved it.
I was just there. As being pregnant you always need to take precautions. They tell you where it is slippery and they have drugs laid down in the slippery areas in most areas. Just be careful and understand their are risks but it would seem you would be ok to go.
Shorts are fine, but be sure to wear closed toe shoes with traction, as it can be wet in places.
All for the good causes...preserving nature beauty...
Unfortunately, there is no public transportation. You can however, get a Lyft or Uber once you get to Round Rock.
Adventure tour (all ages) takes about 1 hour, hidden passage tour (ages 7+) takes 1.5 hours
Adults for the basic adventure is $21 and kids is $13 and for all ages but for the Hidden Passage tour it’s $26 for Adults and $17 for kids.
The cave will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
You have to ask caverns! I toured and paid, but worth it.
Yes they are open if it rains , we actually came while it was raining as well. There is more water inside which is kind of cool! When you get to the end of the cave you will see what I'm talking about. Have fun!
It stays quite warm throughout the year. I light jacket should be good. It is quite humid down there.
Flip flops would not be a good choice. Some paths are step and/or slippery.
I stopped by on a light-rain day and it was open. Call ahead if you have weather concerns.
About 45 minutes
Yes, there were several small kids in the cavern during our tour.
Yes. Just show up
It's 12.95 for children 12 and under and 20.95 for 13 and up. That is the basic tour.
Yes, different prices for different tours but there is a $1 coupon, 10% discount for military and seniors. The whole group gets the discount
Please do not take your father if he is handicapped because bro it is about 2 to 3 miles Underground it gets really rough in some areas bro I would advise you not to go with your father there is a lot better things for you to do and enjoy in the city with him sorry about the Inner Space Caverns bro, not having wheelchairs, we should try to being at someone's attention bro so they can have wheelchairs
Yes. Adventure tour $12.95/child & $20.95/ adult. Hidden passages tour $16.95/child & $25.95/adult. Wild cave tour $100/Person
Adventure tour: 1 hour 15 mins. Hidden passages tour : 1.5 hours. Wild cave tour: 3.5 to 4 hours
No the caves are not stroller friendly. You will have to carry the child. The ticket booth can hold the strollers for you till the end of the tour if you do bring it to the building.
$12.95/children, $20.95/adult for the basic tour.
I was in that place last Sunday and they charged 20 per person
Yes, wear tennis shoes or hiking boots, for best grip. Mostly, concrete walkway, but various angles of walkway, and your in a live cave so there will be damp slippery areas, there are some hand rails, and pads on walk way for steeper areas. You walk in and out, used to be a trolly at the beginning and end, but now you walk the incline! It's a great cave so worth the effort!! Imo
I don't remember seeing any mugs there
Regular tour only, and it will be a pain. 1-130 hour.
