I visited recently.. after I booked they schedule me a time for tour which was around 20 mins from when I bought the tickets. Then the tour was around 1 hr. The ground was wet. Non-slip sneakers and shorts will be useful.
For some of the ancient animals who toured down there and got stuck: forever.
