Yes, wear tennis shoes or hiking boots, for best grip. Mostly, concrete walkway, but various angles of walkway, and your in a live cave so there will be damp slippery areas, there are some hand rails, and pads on walk way for steeper areas. You walk in and out, used to be a trolly at the beginning and end, but now you walk the incline! It's a great cave so worth the effort!! Imo

The tours are from 1hr 15 min to 4 hrs. All would be walking/ walking and climbing. The beginners tour is all walking 1hr and 15 min.
