EXCELENT CUSTOMER SERVICE,RESOLVED ALL MY PROBLEMS THANK YOU
Erik Nothem
I am a single dad of a 3-year-old little girl. I currently have sole legal custody. Her mother has mental health issues, has used household chemicals on herself and my daughter, and has lost custody of her other 3 children. She has committed domestic violence against me. She files non-stop motions I am constantly forced to respond to. I lost my job as a result, am going to school, defend myself in court, and care for my daughter full-time. I currently receive state benefits and am trying to gain meaningful employment in a new field while battling an abuse ex for my daughter's protection. I applied for Nevada Legal Aid for representation twice. They denied me once for reasons that sounded reasonable at the time even though the person who referred me had identical circumstances and they chose to help HER. However, SHE had a DV on her record and my record is clean. I satisfied their requests and for a second time and they still denied me. The first "screener" was nice and polite but denied me. The second "screener" Irene had no personality or signs of any customer relation skills and didn't even allow me a proper interview. If Legal Aid Center of Nevada is not willing to help me, who can they help?? I will be looking into appealing their decision and making it known to their donors. I believe this service was set up for people like me and I am still not understanding why they refused me assistance. I am a loving and involved father in a tough spot who only wishes to protect his child. They sent me a bs letter advising me they had limited space. The application had indicators that it was specifically for women and my gut tells me that my sex may have had something to do with my denial. Anyone else feel this way?
Marie Cornejo
They were very nice and helpful to the best of their abilities. I'm thankful...

I am going through this right now. My wife took them secretly. When she thought I’d bring the law into it she claimed rape, abuse, abuse of my children, drugging her, drugging children, and all kinds of other false allegations. Of course law enforcement found nothing. They even found she lied. Of course she did not get in any legal trouble because out of her gender. She even brought a civil suit that I won. But now there is one thing she has I did not know she even received...a Harrasment order that she got without me being served or even emailed. I can't even call my kids. So now I have to get this repealed. She gets caught lying to CPS about molestation and gets to keep the kids. I have broken no laws and sit heartbroken. My kids even asked CPS when they can see their Daddy. Still I wait. This process is not for Dads that care live their children. Next time I hear dead beat dad in going to think dad that got beat. Up and just gave up.
Legal Aid is federally funded. So no, you should not be charged unless you choose to hire somebody not affiliated with Legal Aid. I would suggest you browse their website and give them a call.
Well i dont even owe them have never laid anything and today got a call after 3 years what can i do
Legal aid, will help
Take that lease agreement to the self help center at the the court house on lewis ave. Its on the first floor . Also bring that 30 day notice.
You should probably call legal aid. This page is a recommendation page. As in; was it clean, was there plenty of parking & is it free. Your question sounds important you should call them. Good luck
Carolyn, That question is open-ended and could take you in a few directions. A bankruptcy will usually show up on a credit history for 7-10 years but good credit can be reestablished in a much shorter time. Depends on when you get started, the strategy you use and how serious you take financial planning. I don't have any expectation of financial gain from the referral but you may benefit from a search for an answer at: thecreditsolutionprogram.com and pick Mike Roberts brain for an effective strategy.
Well I just got tru divorce and then apply other services
Yeah, it's what they specialize in
Yes I think until 1pm and certain days. Call them
The lawyer that's dealing with me is trying to convince me that I should pay this Hispanic realtor who's running an scam 160.00 for the title of the car that I brought that he had all the time. Shes Hispanic too.. so I explained to her the scam that he is doing she told me that he can come take the car back that I brought shes not trying to see the scam shes trying to help him get paid. I thought only in las Vegas but what I really learned was Hispanics sticks together no matter what smh. But GOD GOT THIS....
Call and ask, they also have walk in hrs to meet and evaluate your situation. Very kind people, call and ask. U have to take the 1st step, ask them directly
In not a lawyer, but yes he can. He has to fallow something called due process and go through the eviction process. Also, if you have any receipts of any payments youve made, id get and keep them safe so you have proof. Also, if you're married, i believe you have equall rites to the house and equity. So, if youre married, i suggest you get youre fair share... Get your evidence, do it incognito, and keep moving forward... Youve got this. You have many rights...
Yes. You need to gather proog , text messages, written agreements etc... Go down to the self help center at the court house on lewis ave... They'll give you all the documents you need and point you the proper direction. Good luck...
You should probably consult with a lawyer. It can take a few weeks. You can also file a motion for order shortening time . That might help.
I report the landlord a about my ac situation still nothing
You will need to call Legal Aid directly. This page is for recommendations from people that have been there Ie: is there parking? Is it free? Things like that, I'm sure they can direct you accordingly. Thanks Have a blessed day
Possibly
I can't answer that question.. I just know it's a good place to go for those kinds of questions
Make an appointment with Legal Aid Center to get into a FREE class and they answer all questions. You can either do it in person or online. Go to lacsn.org also check out civillawselfhelpcenter.org they can also help. You can also go down there in person 200 Lewis Ave
Go to Legal Aid Self Help or Law Library or Call or go to the Center on 953 Charleston to find out how to...for free
Thank you this man is making my life miserable when he is the one that has been cheating and kicked us out
He doesn't speak Spanish
Sorry...I dont know
In Nevada, a landlord can evict a tenant for NO PAYING rent or for VIOLATING the lease or rental agreement. However, the tenant may have some options, or legal defenses, available to challenge the eviction. 🥊😉
I don't own this place so I don't know why
I am sure they can, but nothing is quick. First you have to qualify to receive their services. The process I was told takes 4-6 weeks. There is a packet you have to fill out for qualification.
Can a trustee sign my deceased mother's name on her personal property memorandum
Hi David all i can tell you ( Go visit them ( Legal aid of nevada OK ( thier on charleston and around 6th Street OK. Use your map search ( David OK. They will help you OK OK see you
I think so but call and ask that's the easyest
If there was a negative from the purchase from debt collector then is reimbursed from you.
Well my way of handling that is if I was u I would tell the land lord that u will give him only half the rent until it gets fix or I will fix it but wat I spend on it it will be deducted from the rent
Make a Appointment you concerned father, they'll direct u....
Yes you can.
No they don't help with taxes. They help low income with legall matters. For tax returns I would suggest you try a free one n if your taxes are difficult Hen Block is good.
If I remember correctly they you have 30 days to return that deposit make sure nothing was taken Etc most of the time it's returned within 7 days and it's business days but if you feel that you are do the whole deposit hopefully you took pictures of the room and to prove what state that you left the room in and that you were caught up on your rent and everything was paid in full and take him to small claims court
Take the affidavit to the court. PEDRO|CONTRERAS, Legal process server.
I'm not a lawyer, though if he is the only name on the lease of the rental room, I don't believe you can stay. If you're on the lease, he cannot ask you to leave. I'm sorry you and your husband are going through this difficult time. Sometimes you have to step back and ask yourself... "does this man care and love me the way a man should love and take care of his family? And ask if he'd return the money if you decide to leave. If not, your safety and well being is much more important than the loss of money. I'll pray for a favorable outcome. Whatever happens, you are not alone. There are many resources you can find where you're from and ask for help from those companies/ services. God bless you! Look up and be hopefully! Merry Christmas
I would suggest that U speak with an Attorney
that's an interesting question that's an inn since when you are hired you may have been told that you would be liable for any damages that you incurred while on the job so this is something that you would have to check with the law firm itself
That's a good question. I'm sure that they could lead you in. In the right direction.
Baby, toddler, preschooler, kindergartener, 1st grader, 2nd, 3rd..., adolescent, preteen? Do what you usually do or what you gotta do this time to get your questions answered and/or process started, Lovely luv.
I think U should try to work it out with the creditors ,let them know your situation ,They don't like being ignored
Yes, Geraldine you can file a Chap. 13 using any option that fits, self-help, legal aid, or paid bankruptcy attorney.
Make an appointment with the free clinic to see if they can be of assistance. Good luck
In my opinion is this: No. An employer should never be alone with a employee in an office. Call legal aid though to get a lawyer to answer the question.
And...you should of asked for a public defender this issue should be address by the courts system. See the public defenders office for clarification and definition. I wish you good luck. I am guilty of the same thing I just read knowing my rights and trying to get someone to listen.
Code enforcement can place lien against property. Let me stop, the best thing is to gry legal advice. I Google for the great help at legal aid go in and see what they ssy.
What was the felony and how long ago.
It won't cost anything to find out. Walk in, tell them your situation. All they can say is no
Hello I'm renting an apartment but I can't stay there because there is a strong odor coming out of my vents I have complained about this about a month now and it still not fixed as a renter what can I do I want to to leave and find something else how can I Break my lease
I got divorced after 20 years my exe threatened me if I asked for alimony but my health has deteriorated in the last 9 years can I still ask for alimony, I do need the money specially since disability says I'm not sick enough. But with fibromyalgia, diabetes, migranes, anxiety and. panic attacks, ibs-c and I also have glaucoma, osteoarthritis what can I do I live in Las vegas, Nv
This is not legal advice but in a practical sense do what you need to do and send the certified letter. Don't worry about the fathers rights and whether he will or whether he won't do this or that in the meantime. If I understand correctly you plan on at least temporarily being out of the jurisdiction, if so, make sure the court has a way to contact you while you're gone so that you don't miss any deadlines to respond if the father has rights that he chooses to exercise. Good luck with making sound decisions for the young one after being awarded sole custody.
Michael, They Don't Really consult with anybody. I'll send you straight to the self-help Legal Center at the courthouse first floor. Good luck
Hello. The help desk at the Legal Aid Center is amazing. I do believe that you'll have to give them a call first and make an appointment in order to speak to anyone regarding your case.
I believe they can help you or lead you in the right direction.
Hello there! You'll have to call them to verify this, however I'm pretty certain they do or can refer you to someone who can do this for you.
What's the question, legal aid helps with divorce.
Yes, anything involving tenet/landlord is what they specialize in
Don't waste your time, you go there in person you sit after you've given your name then an intake person will come and talk to you after about 5 minutes they will leave you with your information they will come back with a pocket and direct you to the self-help center at the courthouse at the corner of Lewis Street so you might as well just go to the self-help center to begin with.... These people who work there are incredible they're always smiling and they're always willing to go the extra mile for you. Good luck!
Yes they do, call them and make an appointment for an interview.
No hablo espansol call legal aid they do
Legal aid center offers advice for low income customers. They may be able to help you
Contact a lawyer. The contract must be review. Houses are brought and sold....if it is an issue of lease a special out clause is located inside the lease agreement. Remember legal aid provides low income legal services. Good luck.
Aren't they supposed to pay with in 48hrs?
No he can not do it In foreclosure plus you can go to the state about water it's against the law to rent with no water or heat. He be penalized for doing this
This is a case against Mesquite NV court on civil rights violation. Judge denying me a copy of my transcrpts. I already spoke with ACLU but need a civil rights attorney to take action and a suit against the city's municipal court. 2 clerks are witness,a court officier, and the city attorney. Also got a written notice on it as well. DENYING IS AGAINST THE STATE STATUE AS WELL. AND IT'S PUBLIC INFO. ONLY REASON I SEE THEM NOT GIVING IS BECAUSE IT MAY INDICT THEM. Need help ASAP.
Go to there website and look up when they have there probono orientation they give everyone who completes the orientation and packages
Leval Aid center may be able to help. HOWEVER it is for low income families. Check your city court system sometimes they offer free legal advice seminars etc. In a court decree u may also seek assistance by going back to the court which render judgement. Good luck.
You have to sue them, District court is best depending on how much you want to soup for, don't forget to fill out your feet waiver forms to file with your lawsuit. If you qualify that means you don't have to pay it any of the lawsuit fees. Good luck!
Go to legal aid and they will help for free. Eviction notices is one they handle
What I would do is try and schedule the class or even attempt to make that call. Or maybe do the class online tonight. Get the persons name and any other info when u call so that it will show the judge your trying and try to make a pymt on the fines even if its 20.00. Hopefully the judge you get will give you an E for effort...idk.....good luck!
Legal Aid is very knowledgeable. Get down there. Sounds like you can beat this. I'm in the same boat except I'm a home owner. Remember, tenants have more rights than the owner! Good luck!
U can walk in Monday-thursday, obviously this is important to you, posting about it isn't going to get it looked at by informed eyes, or call and make appointment, or at least get an answer from knowledgeable people, until then, all your get is many different options, and u know what they say about opinions. They are kind, understanding organization that doesn't bite. Get a real straight answer or stay awake at night wondering if
Please call the center, get a real legal diagnosis. They are kind and compassionate and will try to help you. In the time it took you to post this you could of called them and got some direction for next step
You have to go to court and find out..you can get help with out getting an attorney ..go to help center in the first floor of the court 200 lewis lv nv
Buy somewhere else. Imagine yourself being an owner there and unable to get help from management. Tsk, tsk.
They are nice people, call or do their walk in hrs, call for times. They will answer you directly, or look at your circumstance. Perhaps if they don't, they can give you a path to someone that can
I am not a lawyer. Because you have already determined the company is fraudulent, the contract is void ab initio (from the start). All obligations stated therein are unenforceable, including your promise of payment for services which will never happen. So you have every right to recovery of your maney. Most credit card companies afford you this relief, regardless of the complexity of the transaction. You have to report the transaction to the card issuer right away.
I'm not a lawyer. I can only think that that is possible, if allowed, if you and wife are linked by a jointly filed ITR
I'm not a lawyer but if the property is your mother's why would she have to give you (an adult) anything? Just because you've lived on property for a lot of years doesn't make it yours. If your mom wants to give you some money that's up to her. If she dies before she sells the home, hopefully she has a will directing disbursement of her assets.
For that tyoe of question, you should have asked them directly, instead of exposing yourself in a public forum. Don't you know big brother and the haters are likely monitoring the Internet for this type of leads 😎
Don't have the money
Unfortunately unless mandated as a requirement that the Veteran must maintain health insurance for the children then at the time the Veteran surrenders his rights to the VA so goes all rights spousel and the paternal
Not sure about question but you meet lawyer individually to discuss your concern.
Nevada Legal aid is Non profit
Depends on who can support the child better and who will let the other parent see the child more often and if you have a domestic viilence on youre record you can forget about having custody also you do have a slightly better chance becouse you and the chiod live in the same state ... you should apply for custody ASAP if thats what you want or she will . KNOW THE LAW... It will help you . Theres a self help center in side the family court ... Or get a lawyer...
Contact the state bar of nevada. Be calm and use facts to support what you have to say... Do NOT tell anyone of youre plans. Use the self help center and go to the law library. Take every class available. Use all youre resources. Do not play into there games. Be honest firm yet respectfull... Do NOT get discouraged. Its alot of work but you can and WILL have justice... Know the laws...
I'm sorry I don't have any knowledge in this matter to give any sort of opinion.
Which legal aid. There's so many. I've done some research and yes they can come in my house and take pictures but only with my consent they went and did it anyways without my consent so do I have some sort of Rights
Before you hire a lawyer, I suggest attending their free seminar about filing a case with Small Claims court to get a judgment and enforce collection of monies owed you. They educate the public on the 'system': legal concepts, procedures, and resources you can avail of. They do not advise on specific course of action on individual cases.
You should call the labor board on Monday
Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer. Workers comp is concerned only with work-related injuries or death. Monetary considerations are directly determined on actual loss or disability (death or physical impairment) and not on salary, and paid lumpsum or as long as the temporary disability exists. Unemployment benefits are status-based (total or partial unemployment) due to circumstances beyond employees' control (work slowdown or workforce reduction or company shutdown) Benefits are computed based on salary and lasts as long as your personal benefit 'fund' has a balance. The unemployed also has to show effort of seeking new employment. Overall, from the limited information provided, I think, pending your WC appeal, you can seek unemployment benefits because you were terminated for reason beyond your control.
HOAs and tow truck companies are in cohoots. You got screwed. Move on.
Idk... All I know it's not ur fault...
I really dont believe you have jurisdictional say over an adoption in though your the mother, in less of any posable disabilities that would prevent the person unable to make their choice based on mental or other, incapable. of sound judgement.
This page is just a "rate this company" you would need to call legal aid and ask who you should speak with or go to the courthouse to the DIY room they have. There are people that answer questions but only about what forms you will need and they have them there at no charge
My husband is evicting me and my daughter out of our house because he assaulted me he was arrested due to this incident now i havs no place to go need advice on what to do i am his wife not a tenant owinf him rent aldo i paid the mortgage 3 days before he attacked me
After explaining that to the police, what is their suggestion to you?
I found a friend of mine by doing a inmate check, I looked at every city and county jail that he might be in and sure enough.... I found him
I'm in the same situation I went and got a p.o. box.
You can speak with somebody at the legal aid office and the if they can't help you then I'm sure they can direct you in the right direction
Google.....Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. It will show you different areas you can check out and ask questions, like " Ask A Lawyer" ect. Maybe after you see what they offer, call them. Good Luck
Take it back to the dealer. To replace it, it should have been there.
You need to call legal aid or just go down there, tell them what you are going through and they will recommend what Attorney you should go to. You might want to file emergency custody so things can be stable for your child/Children. Call legal aid today. Good luck, Be Blessed
There is a place over Charleston & Pecos where they help only mens with this sort of problems. Only mens are allow to enter the office.
It couldn't hurt, you never know, he might go your way.
Yes it is normal for them to call you especially when they need updated information or information that they are unsure about.
You find out the same day if you qualify, I'm sure it depends on how busy they are as to when you will get excepted by an attorney.
Don't forget anyone living in your home for 30 or more days will need to be legally evicted
They have a Tenants rights center but that sounds like it's uninhabitable.
Try in Legal Aid Center.
No
I do not believe so. This is for guidance and assistance with legal issues for needy or older persons.
