Just got my 3rd rescue dog from this shelter. The only thing that I was ever not happy with was when my 2nd dog from there was initially adopted in 2017 we asked if there were any health issues or problems and we were told that she was completely healthy. We noticed she walked differently. Turned out she had hip dysplasia and was born with her knee backwards. I was not able to get her insured to have the surgery she would need to correct the issues.

Had an excellent experience with them. When one of our family members passed away, we had to surrender her 4 cats (all of us have quite a few rescue animals so please no shaming and it did break our hearts to have to surrender them). The staff and volunteers here go above an beyond- they ensured all 4 cats were properly vetted and all 4 were adopted out to loving homes in a very timely manner. One of their volunteers(?) even called me to update me on their adoption status. The organization, courtesy and kindness of the people working/volunteering here is truly unmatched. They are what every shelter should be.

People were nice. Most of us didn't Know we had to sign IN & wait our turn. Which was 2 Hrs! Then it's about Closing time. So we went in cat room & you can't touch but they will Open cage for you. I THOUGHT We would take a kitty & GO into a ROOM. But she didn't take us. I asked but didn't really get an answer. I saw Other people with animals in a Room. Well we petted kitty & did decide to get her. COCO black kitty. She is very soft & cute but does Not like to be picked up &held.

You should call them about that.
Very common for kittens to get conjunctivitis. It requires a prescription antibiotic ointment to cure. It is contagious to other pets AND PEOPLE.
Unfortunately posting it here will do nothing. If you can prove it then you'll have to call the police and the animal rescue yourself and report it
Yes they do if they are not open when you go there is usually outside the door something to put those gifts your donating.
Saharrah, they are open every day. On their web page you can see every animal that is available for adoption. If you are interested in any, go to the shelter and you check in on the web site to get in line for an adoption counselor to talk to you and show you pets that will fit your situation.
They already are, I dropped a bunch of things off on Friday.
There is a donation bin outside of the main entrance
To tje animal rescue League on route 724 or animal shelter on 13 street in reading near wawa on 11 & Rockland take anytime
It depends on immediate need. Best bet is to contact ARL directly.
Since a rabbit is a pet animal i would guess yes, but its just a guess, i would call them at the A.R.L.
I would just call them. They have different extensions for fostering & adopting & others.
I not sure if they do
No
From May 2 - 8, 2022, we will be participating of the Bissell Empty the Shelters promotion. All cats and dogs over 6 months old will be $25.
I think so. They are having a kitten shower coming in April I believe. Check out the website.
We can take both but prefer new. Thanks sooo much!
Be a volunteer! You get to hang out with the pups while you help out a great cause 😊
Yes
You can call anytime during their normal business hours... Someone normally answers or leave number on voicemail and they will call you back
Yes, the ARL does accept all of these items. They have a donation bin outside their front entrance for these items to be dropped off at any time!
I would just call them, go on their Website and get information to call them. GOOD LUCK
I don't believe you would have to pay. But a donation of any amount would be nice.
The ARL is happy to accept food donations as well as it is fresh and sealed!
No, you just check in on their website and it will tell you a wait time
I did not see any, however I was only looking for a cat. Check there website very nice people.
No nonsense spay and neuter
Their prices for end-of-life services are listed on their web page at www.berksarl.org/end-of-life-services/ It goes by weight.
No
They have all sorts of dogs, your best bet would be to look online at their website,or go in to check. The inventory changes frequently. They have dogs in foster homes as well that need a forever home.
If anyone would know it would be at a local tractor supply store. I've seen the they carry all types of feed items. I would think if I had ducks I would go there for feed.
You would to contact them
You just need to call, googlent really meant for pet status updates....the staff can't keep up with every request like that 😀
No I don't believe that you have to
Yes They Do
Yes, sometimes. It's random.
If you are already approved, then it goes quicker. If you currently have a dog then you will need to bring your dog to meet the 1 you are looking to adopt.
I have seen them there n also humane society takes them also
No they don't. Once the animal goes home with someone you take it to your own veterinarian.
It is just basic information, like address and phone number. It isn't anything real personal. I completely understand why they do it. Many of these animals have already been abandoned, lost, or not well taken care of. So, they need to know that someone coming in has a stable home address and also what they are looking for so they can help match you with the right pet, for your needs, lifestyle, ect. Actually, we were surprised that they do not ask for more information to be sure that someone can absolutely provide the care for the animals being adopted.
That's not a bad experience, that is them being causes and speeding up the process in case you do find a pet you would like to adopt. Your application stays with them for a few months, can't remember how long. So if you find a pet it won't take as long for you to be able to take them home.

Me and my wife took our kitten jake to the vets office Exeter veterinary clinic in Exeter township PA. you have to deworm your kitten and then immunization shots it took 2 months. Vet Dr. Told us we have to wait 6 months to neuter/spade do to the fact the kittens need that time for bone and structural developement. You have a lil girl so you dont have to worry about her spraying the house marking territory. Just keep her in the house when all shots are done around 6 months of age go online to S.P.C.A.com and fill out the forms set up the appointment and it will cost you 35 dollars to spade your baby girl. Rudy 😻😊
You should contact the SPCA.
Definitely I just adopt- I have my kitten Skylar that they took great care of 👍💜
They probably can, I used to work for a vet I think you have to request it
Just call the Animal Rescue League and they will take it from there. Thank you for caring about the dog and its safety we need more people like you.
Yes ,she can. But, as gacha said
Not sure. But if you call them directly, I am sure they would answer all of your questions
I'm not sure if they allow you to bring your dog. You should call to be sure.
Richie, they are a NO KILL Shelter now and have been for at least a year or more ago.!
YES! I love animals, but I believe people are the real animals🙁
It would be best to call and find out what the policies are for kittens. They may suggest fostering if there is a lot of overcrowding.
You should call them to see if they are in need of them at this time.
Yes we are 24 . 7 always open :) even on every holiday and bad weather !
By your question it sounds like you're looking to surrender a pet. ARL has a pet surrender fee. They are currently cat quarantined due to distemper, and no cats can come or go for the next few days. Otherwise try One by One cat rescue and Cat naps of Pottsown, depending on your location. There are other rescues you can Google. I don't think you'll find anyone willing to come take away your cat. There are just too many.
Yes for strays, they have an excellent surveillance cameras at the drop off. Keeps the animals safe and to identify whom ever.
No idea. Call them.
Declawing is inhumane. Its painful and renders the cat defenseless. The rescue will DEFINITELY try to talk you out of it and will probably not do the procedure.
Depends where you live and what you want done. No nonsense neutering and animal rescue league have loaner traps to catch. The cat is then fixed and returned to the trapped location. Other options include finding a cat sanctuary willing to accept it. They typically charge a surrender fee.
7 months old are not kittens, they're cats. They are also unsocialized at this point, and unsuitable for adoption. Although they are becoming a no kill facility I don't believe ARL will take your feral cats. Your choices are trap, neuter and return (TNR), find a cat sanctuary willing to take them, find a barn home willing to responsibly care for them, or do nothing but allow them to breed until they overrun your property. You could also foster them indoors in hope of them becoming social. The chances of that lessen every day you delay. No Nonsense Neutering offers a low cost spay/neuter service.
I'm not the ARL, and would bet they have no interest in upholstered furniture. Fleas, bedbugs would live the urine sponges.
I would think they could always use them but you should call them to find out for sure.
There was people there that were signing up for volunteer work when I was there. I'm sure if you show up or call they would take care of that for you.
You might want to call them. I'm not sure how often they check these questions.
That's alot. You better call them directly and talk to someone that can be sure they have the room and staff to handle all of them. If they don't or can't take them all I think they will give you some other place that can. Good luck. Hope they find good homes.
Yes
You will have to call to see if they have any now. I know sometimes they have had bunnies.
They will NOT keep your kitten
I'm not sure call them don't know the hours off hand
On certain weekends they have free adoptions for dog and cats just call they're all friendly there
Rabbits are pregnant for 30 days. If over 35, please bring to your vet.
Call ARL, but if animal is being harmed and abuser will not stop cal 911...
Maybe not at that event but they ALWAYS have kittens... kitten season is coming and its even more important to foster or adopt them now ❤
Of course!
You would have to call the shelter for that info. I do know its a lot cheaper then the bet
Yay I went there and she was still there so I brought her HOME! So happy with her thank you all
No, do not drop off feral cats. They should not be dropped off anywhere, they live outside, that is there home! Help them by getting them spayed/neutered.
They do low cost neuter clinics every month, check their website for dates and sign-up information.
Yes, they are no kill. And there are always quite a few dogs there
Im sure they can help her there.
Yes animal rescue
All different kinds, but when i was there it was mostly pitbulls and big dogs.Go to the humane society for little dogs and here for big dogs
Yes
Early Spay or Neuter. While you canhave a kitten fixed as young as 6 weeks old, the procedure is usually performed when your little one reaches 8 to 12 weeks of age. Kittens need to weigh at least 2 pounds before surgery, according to Web MD.
Yes please take up to them, they would be happy for them.
It can range any price between $50-300
Vaccines are really pricey and you have to have a separate appointment for that.If you go to the humane society they will do it for you
Any husky available
