You may get inside with small luggage, there is a x-ray machine and metal detector. Obviously its better to use a locker or leave your luggage in your hotel before.

There is an entrance fee for the Top of the Rock. For children (6-12) it is 28$, adults 34$, seniors (62+) 32$. You'll get a discount with the NY-pass. Book the tickets in advance so you will for sure get up there.

No and don't buy the "sunset" tickets if you want to see the sun set. They don't let you up early and the line takes so long you'll miss it.

Yeah first entry line. But security check still needed which doesnt take more than 10 mins. Then there will be a queue before elevator which also takes around 10-15 mins. But the staff is so friendly that you will not get bored in your waiting time....

You have to go to the building and they give you the first hour available, in our case we have gone at 9am and they have given us time for 5:20 pm We also had the card, yet you have to spend time to give you a better eye, say the time you want, because you gave us the tickets directly with the time you wanted and often wasted day.

You can buy it there. The elevator ride is approx 45 seconds. Depending on when you go it can get busy. We were there a few days ago and from ticket purchase to the top the whole process took less than 10 minutes.

Google "Top of the Rock tickets" look around, any of the answers sells the tickets. For me the 3rd entry was tickets directly from Top of the Rock.

It's not free. You can book a time slot online and on your phone. Cost is approx $35 per person.

You should have gone on that day and change the day. I was 2 times and they very easy change date because very often rain and fog in last couple of days. So, I would suggest to go there, explain and ask for another termin. Im pretty sure that they will make a favor. Good luck!
