Yes Urban Ministry's is your best bet. If you have never been before your going to have to call "211" it's a hotline that gets you into the computer system over at Urban Ministry's. That has to be done before they will sit down with you. Best wishes.

The urban ministry isn't a shelter.. if you have kids.. you can go to the salvation Army center of hope.. they shelter families.. if it's just for you and your husband. You will have to separate. They have a men shelter for him. You can go to the center of hope.. call first to see if they have any room.. Good luck..

No, but they do have a program called Room At The Inn. The inn will not be a hotel, more like a church or someplace that might let 10-12 ppl sleep there at night. If you're homeless, you should go to Urban Ministry and have an assessment done for housing.

Well, no one stays at urban ministry. What urban ministry do is help to find you housing if your homeless with no income. Having an income is really going to hurt you. You will find out that you do not qualify for their services. Hint hint!! Now, what services you can get is an evaluation to get into the men's shelter. FYI, it's not the same old shelter from back in the day. You have a new facility and from what I understand, it's for a person in your position. Got money, but no place to rest your head. Real talk, the counselors in the shelter will help you find a spot Hella better than the urb! Uno

311 even though you have income it's still going to be a little hard to find housing because we have such a housing shortage for low income housing my advice to you is to apply 2 low income housing do the Housing Authority website has listings different types of housing Urban Ministry see so many people can people I'll go do get a little short-tempered sometime but they mean well it's better to go there can call on the phone it's a drop-in center you can go and talk to a counselor

Yes they most certainly can & will help you! They will let you stay ONE NIGHT no exceptions if you get there by 4:30pm (it would nof hurt to get there at 4pm) to get in line for the night because they will take u to where u will get food, shower, & sleep at 5pm. However, if you need them for any longer than one night you must have an application filled out by the second night & within a week of being there u will need to have signed up for a short assignment & complete it all within the first 7 days. THEY ARE VERY STRICT!!! MUST FOLLOW ALL RULES & REQUIREMENTS TO STAY!!! ALSO KEEP IN MIND: This was as of December 2017 when my friend needed them for a week! Hope this helps, GOD BLESS!! Urban Ministry provides a lot of services. You can see a nurse, have a hot meal, take a shower, have your laundry done, even charge your cell phone. Talk to a counselor or ask other homeless people about which shelters are best. You could easily spend most of your day there. Word of advice: go early in the morning to get on line otherwise it can be an all day affair. I don't remember at what time, but they do close it down for an hour during the day. The staff are mostly friendly and willing to help.

You will go to the desk at 935 (the old railroad depot building) and let them know that you need housing assistance. They will set you up with a counselor and begin the process.

I called the salvationarmy for me in my 17 years in they dont have no rooms for us in went to churchs they aint got no room for and my husband went to the man shelters in they dont have no room for him.... We tried everything but no luck

Very Good Question!! You have to be up there at 7:40/7:50 am to be in line before they open up the doors for service. The staff member will past out numbers and your number will determine when and what time you will be able to take a shower! So dont get to excited being the first person in line cause your number could be 18. Best of Luck here!

To be completely honest, Urban Ministries isn't where you want to look. I'd personally suggest you go to either Goodwill Industries or the Center for Community Transitions, both located in the same building on Wilkerson blvd. CCT has way more resources than both. Call the Goodwill building and ask to speak to Eric in CCT.
