As I was walking toward the window the lady already give me an attitude. She was so rude and unprofessional. I swear I will never step in this place ever again. I don’t know about other employees working there but this lady doesn’t seem to like her job. Customer service is not a job for her
Demetrius “MEECHIE” Wilson
It went smoothly for the first time I was in and out in 30 minutes or less
Jeffrey Speight
It was fine only took about 30 minutes, just remember to bring bills with 2 proofs of address.
Micah Cooper
Awesome experience, Ms Tina answered all of my questions confidently and she was more than accurate, as well Ms Pat. Pat took her time to tell me exactly where I should go, and pointed me to the exact person to talk to. By far the best experience I’ve ever had at a DMV. Hell I might just pay my sales tax after this

I don't have a direct answer for you but being that it seems that no one is willing to respond I thought I offer a suggestion. The DMV has a direct link on their page for you to ask questions directly to them. Here is the link, I hope it works: https://elledmv.com/elle-dmv-locations/independence-mo-dmv/
2 different pieces of mail showing your current address, birth certificate or passport, and your social security card. If it's a CDL renewal, you may need your medical card.
What do I need to renew my drivers license

Yes. You will need your social security card and proof of address such as a utility bill, etc.
No
No you have to print a copy from online or go to the county clerk to get a printed copy
Walk in they are giving those with disabilities special preference. You won't wait long.
Yup
If you don't have a direct answer dont respond
You can go on line and check in they will send you text when your next in line so you don't have to sit inside you can park in the parking lot and wait
If that is the cost after trade in, then you're looking at about $3235. 41k * .0786 for Jackson Co.
I went about an hour before closing. Lol the computer kept shutting down. The poor Clerk was frustrated but extremely professional and courteous. We just ADJUSTED. SHE WAS AWESOME. Great experience.
They last 6 years until you enter your 70's (can't remember the exact age) but then they go to 3 years. Permits must be renewed yearly

$25 every 30 days your late with a max penalty of $200
Missouri highway patrol on 291 in independence Missouri
7 billion hours.
How do you get a temporary license plate for your car in Missouri? You can get a temporary license plate in Missouri by bringing two to three documents to a Missouri license office. Missouri Application of Title and License signed by the dealer. Current insurance card for proof of financial responsibility for the car.Sep 7, 2021 11 dollars
Sorry I can't answer that question and they are in the office next to where you get your car licenses
Paid tax receipt
No, you just go in and get a ticket to join the queue
Yes
Ks Title. Title application for MO. Bill of sale. MO personal property tax receipt. Proof of insurance. And money to pay the sales tax.
I'm really unsure and I don't want to lead you wrong Call up there and asked them
No, they take walk-ins. Just have to wait in line.
If it is not necessary to have an appointment, just come before 5:30 p.m.
Birth certificate or passport, ss card, proof of address
Yes
You will need to either go online or to the DMV in person and see what the document requirements are for getting a “Real ID” issued to you, and then go to the DMV with those documents. If you had previously been to the DMV with the required documents and the DMV issued you a non “Real ID” license in error, then I would go back to the DMV and notify them of their mistake and have them correct it.
You should call them but pretty sure you will need your birth certificate. Possibly need to take the exam if expired.
You can use either. I believe you can even use a credit card as well.
You'll have to call find out the fax number it's not listed on their website
20 is correct and a little bit more sugar Creek DMV
As I understand it from friends: they take you to the residential neighborhoods directly to the South East of the DMV. The examiners don't wish to put themselves in an undue amount of harm (heavy traffic... 291, 23rd st etc) so they keep the test in a quiet and safe place. BTW beware of uphill and down hill parking!
If it's not expired, bring your birth certificate and they should be able to make you another
No you don't need an appointment you just go in and take a number. but the beautiful thing is you can also do a drop off service and they will have your stuff ready within 24 hours and then you just go back in and pick it up
Is it from the state he/she was born in? I've got multiples for my kids and we had to send off to the state to get one. Finally got a fire safe to keep them in.
The Highway Patrol doesn't offer an on line test, practice or otherwise. All written testing is done at MSHP testing offices.
I'm going to tell you I went there last month get my license you walk in it's a little woman at the door yeah she what you need done she get you a ticket my number was 57 they was on 41 so I stuck around, two and a half later hours they got to me I would like this is crazy and Counting the women at the door they only had four workers oh, I went out to Belton the next go-round in and out 15 minutes even with the line
I'm sorry I don't know the answer to that. They are very nice there. I'm sure they will answer your question
She will need to be there as they will need to retake her picture. The one on 291 will move anyone with a handicap to the front of the line.
I don't know that one
No you have to take the written @the hwy patrol next door then go next door to the dmv and take your documents to finalize the procedure
No its next door @the hwy patrol
Most certainly. or Yes
Yes the dealer has to fix it for you. I do believe
Insurance and inspection it depends on the year of vehicle and your last 2 yrs.of personal property taxes
No appointment just go in grab a number the board outside will display your number when it’s your turn
I walked in last Friday. You get a number, then go back to your car and watch the sign in the window for your number to show up, and go inside.
Yes, when we went there wasn't a line. There was a long line right next door for licensing, but the actual DMV run by the sheriff's office was quick.
They're open but you have to go there and check in and they'll give you a of paper and take your number so they can call you when it's your turn but you can wait in your car
You need to go check in and wait in your car until they call you to let you in
That's exactly what it is get in line and hurry up and wait! I would also suggest that you get there earlier than when they open...
She will need to take the written driver's test.
Yes the one on your phone will work just fine I just used mine a couple weeks ago to get my new license plates
Yes within 30 days to avoid penalty
Everything you can think of Photo id, birth cert, proof of residency, ss card and second form of id.
Ok, I've lost my license MANY times in the past few yrs. primarily due to unbridled irresponsibility. Everytime. I'm issued a replacement, I have to have a certified copy of a birth certificate issued by the department of health, AND a piece of mail with your name and current address on it. OR, TWO pieces of mail with your name and current address on it.OR if it is just a copy of what you already have that you need, you can probably either use that or just slap it down on top of machine and press one.
You should call them, I don't think you can, but they will be able to tell you.
I'd say NO. It isn't a Current Driving or Non-Driving ID.
Also Birth Certificate 2 Prove Who You Are So you can Get Passport & 2 Fly On Plane Call 1st They Can be JackWagons😠😤😕
It will explain to you which line to get in for what reason. If there is no line outside, just go inside and check. Otherwise, ask the tellers.
I don't believe so. But you should call them to make sure.
Saturday 8:30AM–12:30PM
I think it was 30 minutes before closing
I don't know why they asked you to call them back. You cannot call there. No one answers.
I do not think so. I didn't have too
Birth certificate, social sec card and 26 .oo
You would likely have to print it.
I would think you would only have to take the driver's test. That she may need it for proof that he took his written test
You need your birth certificate and your social security card and proof of residence something that came in the mail to you.
You dont need to schedule an appt. You can walk in. Tell them what your there for. Then you will probably have to wait outside until it's time for your exam. I hope that helps
The Independence MO DMV is first come first serve.....just show up with your needed documents and stand in line u til it's your turn.
There are two lines one for Title and one for license, It could take you around 2-3 hours depending what time you arrive. If you arrive after 11 or 12 the wait might be longer. Unless you get their at 7:30 - 8. DMV opens up at 9. You will be among the people who came early and gets done early.
If you're disabled simply walk straight in, tell someone immediately at the front and they'll direct you to a chair to sit. You'll be in and out with in 20 min or less
You need to go to the post office and change it there. I don't believe the dmv has any part to do in this is im not mistaken.
i think you need proof of address and social
Safety inspection, insurance, and go to the courthouse and get a personal property tax waver.
File for a lost title at tax office
Tax receipt, inspection (if it's more than 5 years old) , proof of insurance, ID, and your renewal notice card. If you have all those things you should be able to renew online as just the other day there was a 4 hour wait at this LOC
Even lifelong Missourians have trouble with that.
Due to the Rona everything is backed up.
Yes - but it's a stand in line outside for three-ish hours affair. 🥵 Bring a camp chair, sunscreen, plenty of water, and a good book. There is a drop off service, but you'll need to leave all your sensitive documents (and a check) with them for 48 or so hours.
Missouri only granted two month renewal extensions to those with licences that expired in March or April of 2020. Everyone else is SOL - as soon as the expiration date is past, you're on the hook for the usual penalties. ☹️
SUN
2019 personal property tax, car insurance,
No,No,No... my apology for my own lack of patience with ridiculous changes to what worked well and the selfishness of other morons to take outta perfectly good manageable system that taxpayers like all of citizens found relieved the masses and saved all those happy Americans that use to be able to take care of chores that can be getting done and aphone call can give us the time wasted by standing in the hot sun in a line where people old and young suffer heat stroke, 'fatigue, and getting aggravated being inconvenienced to mass together in one sidewalk with no thought of blocking other shops trying to conduct business and make money theirselves.cause no 6 foot separation cannot be a working thing when your in a line that does not move and is 1/8 to 1/4 of a mile long. Every person including children have telephones . Use to go in and put your ph.# in and state what service you needed and it calculated the people and you would get a ph. Call to tell you to come back cause it's time.
It would have to be the coming of christ to get me out in that heat after being there all day yesterday and the day before that.
Website then schedule.under drivers/ id
You have to sign in online. Once you get there, they text you, then come out and call your name at the door to let you in.
Independence has walk in Expect 2 to 3 hr wait
No you don't need an appointment. I was there Friday and Saturday. You just have to wait in line for a couple hours. They're not doing appointments anymore
Unfortunately the department of revenue doesnt offer that option at this time.
Yes it can
Has to be the card.
You will have to do it all over again
Monday through Friday business hours from 9 to 4 or 4:30. Cost is $3.50
30days.
You will need several forms of ID your birth certificate your social security card and 2 Utility bills
none, plates due in December have to be renewed by Dec 31, or you will have to pay a fine.
I think that's it. Just 2 forms of ID. And proof of residence
You need your birth certificate as well as mail for proof of residence. You will also need your ss card and your current ID.
They take them
Your license and a proof of address. If you don't have your license you will need a birth certificate, passport or citizenship card
No it's 1st come 1st serve But you do have to be there by 4:00 p.m.
I don't understand what you are trying to ask..
You can apply for a replacement of your driver's license or learner's permit online. U should also be able to go apply for at any DMV.
The license (or birth certificate, passport, or residency card) and a proof of address
Get a letter from your Dr and take it to the DMV or mail it into Jeff City.
Yes, they take cash, check or credit card.
You Need a Statement From Your Doctor.
Will still expire in Nov 2021, even when you get a new one.
Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, or Passport.
How much do the permanent handicap cost??
PROOF OF INSURANCE ON THE CAR/ INSPECTION SLIP IF THE CAR IS 5 YEARS OR OLDER. IF THE CARS 5 YEARS OLD OR NEWER U DO NOT NEED INSPECTION SLIP. TAG RENEWEL THAT THEY SEND U IN THE MAIL.
I pay Carmax payments but they did not provide a receipt for taxes paid on the car. Do I call them and get a copy?
I don't have a direct answer for you but being that it seems that no one is willing to respond I thought I offer a suggestion. Nope you have to take the permit again
Correct, but you will need proof of your new address (utility bill or any other piece of mail) birth certificate or passport, and your social security card. If it's a CDL you'll need your medical card also.
Two forms of identification and a mail with your adress
The hours are listed right on their website. Tuesday 7:30AM–7PM Wednesday 7:30AM–7PM Thursday 7:30AM–7PM Friday 7:30AM–7PM Saturday 8:30AM–12:30PM Sunday Closed Monday 7:30AM–7PM

The registered owners id or driver's license and the vin number
I'll assume that you figure out the obvious answer and took care of your issue by going into the DMV office. If not, that's what you should have done.
If it is a basic license, proof of address and current license will suffice. If it is a cdl you will need those documents plus birth certificate or us passport.
So long as the vehicle is legal to be driven on the road you can use it to take a test. If you have exceeded the time allowed by your temp tag then your vehicle is not legally allowed on the road and it cannot be used to take anything.
If you look on this section this question was asked (more than once) and answered. Look before you ask. Consider deleting your duplicate question.
You can get an ID as young as 16 if I'm not mistaken.
Answers to questions are provided by other users. If you would like to get answers from the DMV go to their website. You should ask only once. Delete your duplicate requests. https://elledmv.com/elle-dmv-locations/independence-mo-dmv/
Yes you do. They will need a reciept showing that no personal property tax is owed
Try to not wait until the last minute cause you might forget something. Then you have to go back. But, yes the last day of the month is it. Then they're expired the next day.
File for a lost title with the DMV
No, they will be closed.
Yes until 12 i believe
I believe it's $3.50 and you need proof of address.
Marriage license as well as a couple of pieces of mail showing new address if that changed. You will also need your birth certificate and other pieces of identification.
Yes
You can transfer your tags to another car but if this is a new car to you you will have to pay sales tax and registration fee's. While this can be cheaper than just registering the car from brand new the carry the same date and may have to be renewed sooner.
Your wife can. Unless you have a court order or a power of attorney you cannot.
Need to file for title at DMV along with the court papers showing that you have ownership. This could take several months to process.
You will also need a proof of your address in addition to the SSN.

Driving test to get a license? Ask the state hwy patrol next door. If you want to renew ur license, take a number and speak with some one from renews at the DMV. There is also a very long line at the DMV.
$11 I believe.
$20 for a driver id
No it won't be a problem... Make sure u get a IDOD/inspection to go along with your out of state title
No that is the State highway patrol next door and they are closed on Saturdays!
All of the papers for your car when you purchased it, insurance, ID, personal property receipt, inspection paper if it's older than 5 yrs.
Need an adult.
I believe so it will help if you have another couple of forms of identification social security card birth certificate something along that lines
I don't think so. You only get one (30 days tag), after that you are late.....but may I suggest that you visit the DMV's direct link on their page for you to ask questions directly to them. Here is the link, I hope it works: https://elledmv.com/elle-dmv-locations/independence-mo-dmv/
