This is the place to go. They do an awesome job finding animals and connecting them with people. I adopted a 8 weeks kitten and is the best thing I did. Her name is bowser❤️😍

Professional, kind staff. Wonderful facility. Lots of options, you're sure to find a new furry friend! Adopted Chip in December 2021 after him spending 8 months there. Did 6 weeks of treating there this winter and just took him back for a visit today to see all the wonderful staff who cared for him last year.

Brought my 8 month old bunny here to be spayed after being quoted nearly $600 at my vets. Through their low cost spay/neuter program I was able to get a high quality veterinary procedure for under $100. The surgery went smoothly and my bunny was acting as if nothing happened just a few hours after the procedure. I was nervous but I know she was in good hands. Very appreciative of Dr. Farrell and MHHS staff!

Met the most cute cat in the world here🥰 Staff are nice people, being respond to each animal and helping the guests to find the best fit, stop by and find if any cuttie you wanna bring home!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
i believe so yes
I had to pay $85 for my female cat and $75 for my son's male cat. That was with no discount. That was 3 years ago.
Cats are usually 80. If dental issues or older cat its less.
Yes winky was one of the cats I wanted to adopt but I found out it was too late she was already adopted by someone else.
You must fill out form online and say which animal you would like to meet. It is then done outside. We adopted a dog this way two weeks ago.
They are a no kill shelter. When they have room they also take animals from other areas and states where there is no room in their shelters. The people at Mohawk Hudson Humane Society are dedicated to the prevention of animal cruelty and the education of the public!
Yeah but I would call to make sure that you can drop off the cat food. I'm sorry that your cat died 🥺
What you can do is call animal control and they will set human traps then call the Mohawk and Hudson and they will take them in. Have them checked fix them and find homes for them. I know times are hard but please give them a donation it doesn't have to be hundreds they are thankful for any help. I hope this helps you in some way. Happy holidays
How old is she Ware you located
How so the cat being to frisky
They have low cost vet clinics a couple times a month, call them for an appointment.
Call them directly. They have many employees and volunteers.
Good Afternoon I have had 2 Rottweilers rescued from there and regardless of the fee the Pleasure I got from Those Two will Live with Me Forever.
Yes, that would be a great donation!!!!!
I'm not sure, you can always call to ask you
They open at noon on Sat. So glad your dog was found!!
They probably will just has to be healthy
Not free, but almost negligible compared to buying one elsewhere! We adopted a puppy in July (he's doing awesome, btw) and he had been neutered, vaccinated, crate trained, and we paid maybe $300. They have a million to choose from, I so suggest you check them out! They treat their animals with the best of care!
They usually have a pretty large selection, you can either visit or check out the website :)
They only spay and neuter cats and Pitbull breeds at the Menands facility
We have had great success at Mohawk Hudson. Unless the cat is ill, they will attempt to find a suitable living situation that meets the needs of the cat and the adoptive family.
Kittens usually require a mix and wet food for a little but I would discuss this with the professionals at the humane society. They're the ones more qualified to answer this question
Check their web site? Otherwise make a trip over to them.
Yes they have lots of cats go check them out. The volunteers there are amazing and a great help.
They are a no-kill shelter.
I don't know but I think 🤔 they neuter pets at a reasonable price but call and make sure because I don't want to give people the wrong information
They have a program that goes off income it’s loved for life it’s awesome
That's something you have to call and find out
YES they do
I think that you call them to see if they can do that before he goes to work. That's the best answer that I give
I think 🤔 that you should take her to the vet to make sure that she's okay
I think 🤔 that they do but I'm not sure
Not sure. I would call them.
Just give them a call and they'll give you all the information you need
The listings on their website are updated automatically - so if the pup you're looking for is still on the website, they'll likely still be in the shelter.
Probably
They are a no kill for space shelter
I cannot imagine of them putting an animal to sleep. I imagine that they would want the animal to have a chance to be adopted. I really don't think they would do something like that just to have them wasted.
Sounds like you should call them.
It's open to everyone, vaccinated or not. Just stop by or call before hand to make sure someone will be available to help you.
Until 4pm
Do to covet anybody that wants to adopt a pet has to make an appointment just don't take the time to go down there without making an appointment cuz you won't be able to see any animals
Unsure.. but they would be happy to assist you if you call them directly
You have to make an appointment through the website I believe. Small animal appointments seem to be scheduling quickly, cats are a couple weeks out, and not sure about dogs
Leave a message. They will call you back.
If not, outofthepits.org they specialize in pitbulls and they're in Albany
I would call the humane society and ask them why your cat is not out on the site or check out there website kim you might be able to find out about your cat but be careful some of the cat's come from broken home's and you might not want to know what you find out it's up to you I hope I helped you good luck by
I would advise you check out there website then give them a call. Happy puppy shopping!
I don't know if the pound is there but you can call animal control and they can let you know just Google it and I can give you the number whatever City you're calling from tell him you want that and no control center in that number of that City. I don't think menands shelter will have your dog
Having just adopted a cat from Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, they take down listings as soon as the cat is adopted. So if the kitten is not listed on the site, the kitten has probably been adopted.
Still appointment only. I just adopted a cat two weeks ago. Doors locked initially, I was let in to entryway, had my appointnent verified before entering facility. Masks Required!
Yes, at the Menands location they do fix kittens. There's usually a bit of a waiting time. The sooner you call to schedule and see if there is availability the better.
You have to go onto their website and go through there. I did it by clicking on one of the cats available (we were looking for a cat) and went through the steps to set up an appointment. It says that the appointment is not for a specific animal, just the species. If you are looking for a dog then go through the dogs. It will show you the available dates. It sometimes will make your appointment for the time of day that you are making the appointment, so if you log in to make an appointment at say 2 pm, then your appointment will be for 2 pm on the date you choose. Hope this helps.
Yes, the rabies vaccine they give lasts 1 year. Once you take your adopted pet to your vet the vet will set up an appointment to give the vaccine again when the 1year vaccine expires. The vaccine the vet will give lasts 3 years.
Check out their website https://mohawkhumane.org/adopt/available to see what animals are available. If they have bunnies available they will be listed on this page. If you click on the picture of the animal you are interested in, the adoption price is listed along with other information about that animal.
Yes, it's a no kill shelter. There are dogs that have been there for a while (unfortunately) and will stay till their adopted.
As of last week they where still appointment only and weren't allowed inside.
Yes, they have resumed accepting bottles.
Call mohawk hudson or go to their website. They have a low income spay/neuter program.
No. They do ask to conduct an interview with you prior to surrender.
I live in Delaware. Call the Game Warden
265 5thave troy 12182
Mohawk Aspca Very Friendly people who will point you in the right direction
Give a call also I've been told if a person is on social benefits there may be additional discounts.
Pleasse call the shelter directly to see about volunteering.
If you saw him that means that the vets have given him a full physical, given him all of his shots and he is a happy healthy boy ready to find his forever family. At this shelter they have play areas where cats can climb up to watch each other, play together and have a fun day. Staff members give them time to be petted and spend time together. It is so difficult to be looking at a photo of a cat that was once a part of your life. Keep the happy memories with you and know that your cat-friend will have a happy forever new family very soon. Sometimes shelters have volunteer positions. Maybe you could call to find out if you could do that sometime. You sound like a kind and special person. Be well and think of good memories
Because it costs them money to take care of them, the vet fees over all, food, shelter, their employees. Everything cost money and donations can only do so much.
They do. Call them, there is a fee. Most vets do it too
They do ocasionally but I did not see any there on Sunday. I would call them and ask if you could be contacted if any come in
I agree with Craig and Nicole. If you brought your cat to the Humane Society they would try to work with you. They won't pay for outside medical care. Hopefully a GoFundMe campaign might help you.
I would call and ask what the age is to start volunteering and find out that way it's probably much easier!
Also training is required
Where are you? I may be able to come get it for you.
Yes they the ck out list from v deer t
You need to contact them directly. Their animals are constantly being adopted out and new ones come in.
I am not for certain if they will accept it.
Volunteers must be 18 years old according to the website.
I think you are ok on most items. I don't think they accept open food
They should be able to help you with a kitten. They have adoption clinics at times. Pet Smart is another place, also local vet hospitals.
Call there
They should be able to assist you or give you information.
No appointment. Just make sure if you have a dog already bring your dog. They will not let you adopt until the dogs have meet.
I agree with Betty Mantica sometimes they are unable to avoid "putting ' an animal f
Thats very sad. I didnt have that issue when i visited. Why did they want to put her down.
Check their website. All currently available animals are listed there with ages. Good luck finding your purrfect pet!
Yes they have cats possibly may have kittens.
I would say go in person and ask to speak to someone about volunteering and tell them how you did a class with them about it then never heard any more they might have lost your information with the craziness of the Troy hording case they had
I don't think the society works that way. Each and every animal should have a fair shot at adoption. They are not stock on a shelf at a supermarket where the older stock gets moved up front. If you think the shelter should run as a first in first out I would assume you are not familiar on how a shelter operates
You can read a little story about the dog which usually tells behavior of dog.
What does this question have to do with the humane society
I think they do or they can set you up with a team give them a call or e-mail
The available animals are on the website.
It varies based on breed and age. $200+
They can be brought in & surrendered at the humane society from 12pm-6pm 7days a week
No its a surrender
Extremely reasonable pricing. Truely dedicated staff.
Im sorry they arent with me.
They probably do, but if not, they can give you a list of local vets and any spay/neuter programs in the area.
Hi Wendy, you can take the cat to the shelter and see if she has a tracking device. If the cat does, it is likely the cat is owned or was once owned and you may be able to find his/her owner. If you feed her she will continue to rely on u for food. If you can not take care of the cat long-term I would suggest bringing the cat go the shelter and they will put her/him up for adoption if she has no owners.
They do neuter @ MHHS. I'm not certain about the cost, but I believe it's income dependend. I'd call them after 12 noon. Good luck!
They're actually full right now and not accepting surrenders.
My name is Rubens just want to no how are they doing Maggie is black and white and Mickey is Brown and black.l surrendered both of them to shelter in menands.because l fell on hard times.also my wife passed.l love them very much just want to no if they are doing Okay.also to say thank you for adopteing them together.my name is Rubens.hope you are the couple who adopted them.any question you can call or text me.God bless.
I don't believe so
I was there today and they have 2 rabbits. Not sure how old but one was grey and other one was white.
If you dont see them on the website they were adopted. You should check their fb page- theres a photo of them with their adopters.
They remove the animal from the website not long after adoption. No theres no time limit, and no if you surrendered the pet they will not let you know when they are adopted.
Not sure at that place, but there clinics nearby
You would have to do a background check, and possibly a home check. Sometimes if you have other animals you will have to allow the two to meet etc. I would contact them and see what the timeline is
No milk, usually pate with some additional water if they don't know how to drink yet. The kitten chow on the side for in between meals. Feed half a can a day.
It was just said the last time I was in there that they are accepting volunteers but not hiring at this time
They are no longer a kill shelter. Havent been in at least 3 years.
it sounds like your cat has a hematoma in your ear it's a blood collection between the inner ear to the inner flap in the outer flap that has to be taken care of by a vet
Yes, they are a no-kill shelter, so if they are healthy and not ferral the shelter will find them homes. Personally, I would tell your daughter to take them there. It's not free to drop them off and they are her cats. If she is old enough to move in with a boy friend, she is old enough to be responsible for HER cats. If you don't, then you will be cleaning up after her immaturity all your life. Tell her I said to grow up and take some responsibility or don't have animals or babies.
Always if you have any concerns or wanna be safe.
They take them i think
random people on google don't know when they get rats at the shelter. you're a local guide, you do know this isn't the shelter answering these questions, right? ask the shelter. they're busy so it may take a day for them to get back to you.
There could be a few reasons your cat is marking that bed, for best advice reach out to a vet or animal behaviorist so the animal can be monitored for answers (hopefully). In the meantime I'd suggest tossing out that old dog bed, get a new one to see if that helps any.... best of luck
Yes, I fostered one! They're golden hamsters, I think, with very light colored fur, sort of blonde-white with grey patches.
You have to be 13 to work with cats, 18 to work with dogs, I’m not sure about other animals but I would guess 13 also
Yea
Private cremation is 135.00 for a cat , rabbit, guinea pig , etc. Larger dogs cost more.
They have some up for adoption now but I don't know what type of hamster they are
You can surrender without a fee.. their vet will do exam and shots before adopting him out.... or you can try and place him in a home online
They don’t have specific breeds to be honest but they have so many other dogs that want homes check their website I think you’ll find one you’ll like
Some people are really retarded! here is a lady who is trying to donate her deceased dog's food and people are so shallow that they say no they can not accept them because they're opened! there's animals out here starving to death it reminds me of the people at Dunkin Donuts that throw away the donuts and there's people here starving to death! doesn't make any sense!
I'm sure it was not found
I would recommend calling your vet.
I would look at some rescues. There are rescues for each type of dog. Try searching up Your breed followed by rescue
Their website maintains an up to date list of the animals available. You have to call or visit to discuss their individual temperaments.
Absolutely
Mohawk hudson humane society will take them. Bring all your vet records with you. They usually have you fill out a short form about the animals. If possible give a donation they dont usually ask for money. But it is great if you can help out since they will be caring for the animals.
It depends on where (what city) you live. Look on your city's website. Troy is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than anywhere else. The fees are set by the city.
They will look briefly and tell you that the dog is fine. Even though he may need to finish the treatments that he was supposed to get while he was there and didnt . Failed to tell me that he needed more treatments for worms, different kinds of them. But they sent his records to.my vet with neither one of them calling to tell me so that i could bring him in. Oakwood vet and humane society are totally unorganized organizations. Thanks
Could be a dog out enjoying a some what freedom
Yes, calling the police will get you in touch with an animal control office who will pick up the cats and bring them to the shelter.
Its like 70 bucks. If you have proof of low income then its cheaper.
You should call the shelter directly. They don't check this site. I believe they would take him, but your best bet is to call.
This is a good place. They care very much about the animals legitimately and take care of them well
They do sometimes. I would check the website and see when they are available.
