Beautiful clean beach, beach volleyball courts, and Corn hole Board games are available. Rusted washrooms are there so be careful when using them. Apart from that, there’s a small trail for a peaceful evening walk.

What a beautiful gem of a campsite along the beach. Coastal views amazing. Clean restrooms/ hot showers. Picnic benches and fire pits. Loved that it is literally located within San Clemente. Plenty of close by shopping and dining. Even ebike rentals. We saw riders on the sand. So fun!

Great camping! Be sure to reserve on line, it's been busy. Clean restrooms and hot showers. Walk to the bluff to take in the sunset. You can walk down to the beach in a few minutes. Easy highway access to other places and beaches.

The park has the right to stop selling at anytime even if there have available spots. Today they stopped selling same day or reups because they told 8 of us at the kiosk that reserve califonia overbooked and now they want to make sure it does not happen tonight (sat) by not allowing people to reup the site they had the night before even though it is available. CAUTION. Nothing is set in stone. I did hear if you show up after the human attendant has left you can use the "iron ranger" to pay for your campsite if one is available but have not tried it yet.
Yes you can they give you s lock code
I know folks who use them there all the time.
State parks/beaches $15 a day or yearly passes for $195 a year. Disabled $7.50 a day yearly pass $5 yep you read that right 5 dollars a year and these yearly passes are good through out california state properties. Town of San Clemente has parking meters they take quarters and debit/credit cards, or you can buy a town of san Clemente yearly meter pass for $50 a year. Locals buy both state and town passes which is really needed for a total of $245 a year. Or disabled passes for both is $5 a year , your disabled emblem is good at all parking spaces in town including parking meter spaces Okay HPEDAYS MY FRIENDS
They don't charge by how many people, unless it's a large group. It's around 50$ a night for a site anywhere on the coastline of Ca. If you are there first thing in the morning before 10am they will usually try to get you a site, people cancel all the time, but it's a good idea to book an advance spot
yes just talk to the ranger. may be a bit weak in spots.
Definitely chain them to something! Every site has a picnic table or you have your car bumper. Cover with a tarp or beach towels.
The tent sites allow 2 cars each but you have to pay a fee for the 2nd car
Yes you can. My travel trailer is a 28', 31' bumper to tongue and could fit in the spots still connected to my truck.
Yes. I saw several RV's, trailers, and camper Vans using generators in the camping sites. I believe the state park rules have set "quiet" time hours, like from 10 pm to 8 pm so you can run your generator up until then. I actually have a generator for backup, but use massive solar panels for power now so it's been awhile since I used the generator. San Clemente State Park is a great campground and state beach. I'm sure you will love it.
Electricity water and sewage
You must be from out of state. In California, you are charged and over charged for everything.
I'm not a runner... When i went there with my wife it was really quiet about two months ago
Yes, every campsite has a fire ring, a picnic table and an area with some shade.
Largest hookup sites we've stayed at ! We have a 35ft 5th wheel and xcab long bed truck. So much room for extra vehicles and disconnecting etc...
Sites 57-72 are indeed hook up sits and have the best views of the rv section. The only restriction is length only. 57-72 all varies in size with the smallest site at 32ft (72).
Can we just pull up and camp what do I need
YES
Ive seen people use bbqs no problem and seen people told no .... guess its whomever sees it.
Yeah, if you want to stay longer than a few days you need to reserve. You can sometimes get a few days here and there without reserving.
Unfortunately NO, you reserve your camp site through Cruise america.com or Google reservations San Clemente State Park.
Well the State Beach Campground has a little cottage by the cliffs in the campground, and that's where a lot of weddings and events go on. So maybe try contacting that specific campground, and ask to speak to someone who is in charge of the events at the cottage.
Shaun is correct. If you're going to the State Beach the only campfires are allowed in the campground.
No I think it's every 14 days you have to leave for a day
Lots of places to ride too on either side of freeway. Downtown San Clemenete is easily rideable and on the west side of the freeway (same side as campgroumd). Shops and restaurants there.. East side of freeway (across freeway) as suggested is a shorter and quicker distance though.
It's a sleeping maximum not a day use maximum. They're not going to count how many are hanging out during the day at your site.
There are people who set up service on the beach. I would ask the san clemente in staff if they know who does it ... or go to the beach circa 5 or 6pm and ask as there is usually something set up daily
These 2 campgrounds are usually booked 6 months in advance. Unless there is maintenance at the same time I believe it's all booked.
2 is the earliest, you can check in after but they lock the entry gates by 10pm.
No over night camping. U can park on any street in San Clemente.
I'm not sure probably a 40-foot 35-foot
No age limit that I know of. They actually have vintage trailers that you can rent at the campground!
Its $40 for regular camping $8 reservation fee
Is there a camping store on site?
Check the details on the site you are reserving. It only matters what the length of your trailer is.
room for a 33 motorhome with full hook ups
Well, by reserve spot you mean a camp site? Or the wedding on the beach? I'd like to say yes to both. I've never seen a wedding on the beach there but I have seen weddings at the cottage on the bluffs there. It's very nice. But it's not on the beach. But I'm sure if you have a smallish party it should be fine for sunset. There is usually not to many people on the beach at sunset.
Probably not. It's a holiday weekend. But, you can go to www.reservecalifornia.com or go directly to the park itself and check at the booth. Gates close at a certain hour.
There are bbq, with views, and fire rings at the campground.
Yes, they are used all throughout San Clemente.
Not this campground but Dana Point has a campground on the beach, so does Bolsa Chica state, in Hb
Except for service animals, no dogs are allowed on trails or the beach. Dogs are allowed in campground on 6 foot maximum leash.
Yes, there is a separate section for tent camping.
Yes. Leash only, but not on the actual beach. Just in the camping area.
I think 38 feet exceeds the max length but you can call the park to know for sure !
Yes
The campsite acceptable reservations, but they fill up about 4 to 6 months ahead. If you are lucky and they have an opening or someone cancels you might be able to camp there.
The campground is on a bluff with the trails down to the beach mentioned.
No. We are 40' and tow a Jeep. There are spme very long pull through sites. Google Earth it. The biggest issue are the turns in the loops. They can be difficult and you might ride up the curb as the are tight.
Thanks everyone, was wondering more about specific hiker biker camp spots at the campground if they were provided
No. Never on the beach. Some trails allow it even along beach. Just not on the beach sadly because so many non responsible owners.
Extra vehicles $15 get extra over night pass not day use pass.
Yes, but not currently. There was a water line break
Reserve Ahead.
There is bike trails... There is some gaps to riding along yhe shoreline.. Nevertheless, a lot of bike trails by beach and camosite
Yes on the campsite area. The beach is down the bluff about 5-15min walk. Oh walking down to the bluff on the left side is very steep \, right side not so steep ~. Careful specially for the elders 😁The last time we went is $40 a night and there's an area also for like groups/family that you can all join and split the costs. Is like $100 plus for a night but if you split, it won't be so bad. You and/or families and friends will own that part of the premises of the camp.
Bluffs Beach a little further south in San Onofre is dog friendly.
Not that far, probably 5-15mins walk for most people. They have lifeguard/rangers/information center that can help you for anything? There are two pave trail going down the beach. The left side is really steep. On your right is not too bad but still slightly steep. Make sure you have someone to hold you just in case...There's also a railroad tracks on the site which an Amtrak train pass by every so often so look out for that but is over passing...
Yes, overnight camping with tents is allowed. And the showers are $0.50 per 2 minute shower which require a token.
Summer is high, winter is low and off season. Camp site is like 40$a night when we went in March. But there's a group site for the entire family and/or friends that you all share but is like 200$+ per night but you all pinch in. This place you have to book it 6 months in advance cause it will book fast and you will not get a spot?
Yes. No restrictions
Yes

Check in officially begins at 2 pm. However, you can always get there early and pick up your camp tag from 8am-2pm. You can go to the day use area in the park, or any other State Park in the area until your spot becomes vacant. Also, check out for the other campers is at noon, some people leave early some don't. Ask the kiosk worker if the campcheck shows a camper when checking In and they can give a definite answer.
There is no beach play equipment unfortunately. However Concordia elementary school is right next to the campground and has 3 jungle gyms for ages (4-14).
In the fall or winter, they probably wont give you too many problems but in the packed summer, forget it, they'll be on you
Absolutely, very common there to have tents and lots of kids!!!
They have a beach parking area they have let us use before when we got there early.
