Shaun is correct. If you're going to the State Beach the only campfires are allowed in the campground.
There's only a parking fee at State beach, the campground at State beach has overnight camping for $25-$35 a night, each spot has a thing for bonfires. If you just go to the beach though I don't think there's any bonfire pits till around T street (south of the pier) and the pier and to the watch tower (north of the pier) but there's a 12 o'clock midnight beach closing for those locations.
